The Serpent
So yesterday, me and my family finished watching a drama called, The Serpent, now The Serpent is a BBC drama that is set in Thailand, and it’s based on true events, and it follows the real life story of Charles Sobhraj , who was a murderer and a gem dealer in the 70s including the hippy trail .
And basically, he meets all of these people and he puts this weird powder in their drinks and drugs them, and the people get confused and he steals their passports, but he also did some killings too . There are a bunch of other details in the story that might have not been in the drama, because they only had 8 episodes but you can get the book and it’ll tell you more, the story is very depressing and sad but I loved it, and it sends chills down your spine, it’s such an amazing drama, best thing I’ve seen in a long time . Tahar Rahim literally scared me, his acting is phenominal, it was almost like I was watching something in real life, props to the whole cast for entertaining us during this horrible virus pandemic, hoping that the cast get more events and films to act in in the future .
I think the drama was amazing, there are only 8 episodes and once you binged them, it makes you want to watch them all over again, it’s definetly one of my most favorite dramas, usually I’m not into crime dramas, but this one was a real eye opener, and I definetly recommend it .
The cast was amazing, and I like how they found photos of the real people, I think it adds on to it really well .
The cast who starred in the drama are .
Tahar Rahim plays the role of Charles Sobhraj , Jenna Louise Coleman plays the role of Marie Andree Leclerc, Ellie Bamber plays the role of Angela Knippenberg, Billy Howle plays the role of Herman Knippenberg and there are many more .
