Stranger Things 4, My Verdict, My Opinions On The New Season Of ST

Okay so, a few days ago, I finished watching series 4 of Stranger Things and it is absolutely amazing . This, in my opinion is the best season yet. It was just brilliant . Me and my family watched all the episodes . We watched one episode every night because we just didn’t want it to end really quick, so we just spread it out a little bit . Season 4 was amazing . Everything about it was great, the characters, the storylines, the music, everything, it was absolutely phenominal . This one was so dark, like it was very chaotic, it felt like I was watching a horror film . They really went all in with this one, Jesus Christ, haha . I loved the vibes . I loved the music choices, I loved the chemistry between the characters, I just loved everything about this new series . Me and my family were just constantly shouting at the TV, saying ” Go on, Eleven, get your powers back and you can kick Angela’s ass ”, haha . I just wanted her to get her powers back so bad . She really bit off more then she could chew . Stranger Things season 4 was absolutely magical, it was pure magic . I had to mentally prepare myself to watch it, cause I felt like one of my favourite characters was gonna die, I was like ” Nope, I’m not having it, I know who the Duffer Brothers are gonna kill off next, it’s gonna be Steve . I felt like that for a very long time, but I sat down, I mentally prepared myself, I watched it and now I really love it, it’s my favourite season yet, all though all of them are great, but this one just really blew me away, it was totally worth the wait .

Season 4 of stranger things was just amazing, I really loved it . It took so long for it to come out because of the pandemic, but I’m so glad that it’s finally here . It was definetely worth the wait . This season was dark and very chaotic.

 

We got introduced to many more new characters .

The characters.

We had Eddie. I love Eddie, he is a bit demented, he kind of reminds me of Billy a little bit, but Billy was unhinged and Eddie’s kind of normal, but they both have some simularities . Eddie is a heavy metal fanatic and he hosts a school club, which is called Hellfire Club, it’s kind of like Dungeons and Dragons club . Eddie won our hearts in this series, he really did . I really loved him . He’s like a typical 80s inspired character . He was obviously traumatized by what happened to Chrissy . Plus when those jocks kept going on the run and tried to kill him . You kind of feel sorry for him, he didn’t really deserve any of it . That bit where Chrissy was in a trance where she had an encounter with Vecna and Eddie was freaking out and he was like ” Chrissy wake up, I don’t like this, Chrissy wake up ”, that is my jam . I’m totally gonna make that my alarm, haha. That’s like the best way to start your day .

I’m not happy about his death, I’m still angry about it, I’m trying so hard not to think about it, cause it’s just gonna traumatize me . He didn’t deserve it at all . He was like the coolest character from the new season, loved his Guitar scene in the upside down when he played The Master Of Puppets by Metallica, that scene is iconic . He died a hero . He sacrificed himself for a town that turned their backs against him, that’s what really hit me . I always knew that he would die at some point . His death was really emotional . Like when Dustin was kneeling beside him and when Eddie said ” I didn’t run away this time, did I ?”, it made me cry non stop tears . I didn’t cry the first time but looking back at that scene now, it just hits me differently . I love Eddie, he’ll always be in our hearts . I’m gonna be honest with you, Eddie is the reason why I love Joseph Quinn . Joseph Quinn is an amazing actor, he really stole our hearts with his character, and he’s so lovely as well, like he has such a great personality . He’s that one geezer everyone wants to have in their lives, whether it’s a partner or a friend . I’m rooting for him, he deserves all the success in the nearer future . A lot of people would say that Eddie’s death was kind of dumb, but honestly, I don’t think that . I think his death was well executed and very emotional, they couldn’t have done it any other way, it’s absolutely perfect . Those people are entitled to their own opinions though .

 

This season was very hard to get your head around because most of the characters are in different places . Like Eleven, Will and Joyce are in California and Jonathon and Mike are in Hawkins, as well as everyone else, and of course you know, Hopper is in Russia, it’s sort of like everyone is on their own mission . The first episode was very confusing but once you get down to the second episode, you will start to get an understanding of the storyline . We had other characters like Agyle. Agyle is such a funny character. He’s just one of those characters who you just don’t know who they are, but they are just stuck with you, with no understanding of how you met them and where they’ve come from . He is so funny, he really adds a comedic balance to the series because whilst there’s a lot of dark and seriousness going on and everyone’s in great danger, there’s just him, who has no idea what’s going on but he’s trying to understand, haha, like he has two brain cells remaining in his head . I love that bit where there’s a massive shoot out rampage in the house where Mike and Jonathon are staying and then Argyle is just jamming out to Pass The Dutchie by Musical Youth, that scene is my favourite, I love Pass The Dutchie, it’s such a great song, Musical Youth is great . I’m so glad the younger generation is discovering this song, this one needs a boost as well, it needs the same treatement as Running Up That Hill . He literally has no idea what’s going on . He thinks there’s a party, haha, nah man, you call that a party, with the army in your house . Stranger Things has the best characters, convince me otherwise . But yeah, I love Argyle, I really hope they don’t kill him off. He was one of my favourite characters from this series. He’s just so random . Argyle should have his own spin off show . It would be like, Argyle is just sitting in a dark room, completely stoned and he’s just dazing into the sky, talking to himself or just talking shit for hours on end, that would be hilarious . Me, my sister and my dad were joking about this idea premise, the other day . I’ve always wondered what it would be like if Argyle ever faced Vecna . Then like Vecna would go into his brain and try to find some kind of trauma, but he would find nothing, instead, he would just find a hollow brain with lots of weed or something . Then Vecna would be like ” No, there’s nothing in there, nothing ”. The actor who plays  him needs more recognition, his character was hilarious  .

Eleven really had it tough . She got bullied at school, she was back in the lab again . She just wanted to fit in but everyone saw her as a different person just because of her abilities and powers . I felt really sorry for Eleven throughout the season. I wanted her to be happy, but she just was getting smashed left right and center, poor Eleven, I just wanted to give her a hug, she’s been through so much, she lost her dad, she faced a lot of trauma and everyone just shat on her . Eleven is so nice and gentle and it’s very easy for someone to just walk all over her . I see a bit of myself in her . Like I don’t have superpowers but we are both very shy and out going . Me and her would get along so well . I long to have a friend like Eleven . I love Millie Bobby Brown, she’s an amazing actress. Props to her stunt double as well, she was amazing . She was the one who really put in her efforts to create that roller skate scene . And Millie as well, they were both amazing .

Angela really bothered me . I wanted to punch her every time she came on screen . That scene when they’re at the roller rink, I think it was called Rinko Mania. And Eleven chucked a roller skate at her . I was cheering so loudly . I was like ” Go on, Eleven, you go girl, you kick that girl’s ass, whooo ”, haha. She got her cummupance in the end, that’s what happens when you mess with Eleven . I didn’t like how everyone was so shocked when Angela got injured via the roller skate, Angela deserved it, she was mean to Eleven and when she started taking the piss out of Hopper being dead, she just took a step too far . I’m so happy that Eleven attacked her, it’s about time she finally did something . They were all acting like Angela was the victim, it was so terrible. I felt really sorry for Eleven, I just wanted her to get her powers back so she could go on a rampage . I just hated Angela. She’s just like any other school bully depicted in main stream media . I wanted to beat her up the whole time . The roller skate attack scene was just brilliant . The whole time, me and my dad were like ” Yeah, man, the Carrie moment’s coming up ”, haha. The actress is a total sweetheart compared to her character in the show . Normally, when you hate a character so much, it means that the actor or the actress did a great job . She’s a really good actress, her character made me wanna stick my fist through the screen and punch her in the face a countless amount of times .

Steve is still the best character . It’s already the 4th season and he’s still the best character out of the whole series . He doesn’t get enough appreciation, he’s bloody hilarious . He’s just trying to get his head around certain things and he’s trying to understand . You could just see Dustin losing his shit every time . When he did that deep dive into the water to try and find the underwater gate and ended up getting attacked and bitten by hundreds of bats, it was crazy . I was like ” Steve, mate, what are you bloody doing under the sea, you’re friends are probably thinking that you’re dead, where are you ?”, haha, I was like screaming at the TV. That was probably one of most stupid ideas yet, what they should have done, is plan it out a little better, instead of sailing across the sea in a boat, having no idea where they are bloody going . It’s like a recipe for disaster . But if they didn’t do that, then it wouldn’t be Stranger Things, so I’m glad it did happen, it makes it seem really intense and chaotic . I literally thought that Steve was gonna die, like I thought that that was the end of Steve there. Something tells me that he might die in series 5, which I hope not, cause I love him, he is one of the reasons why I still watch the show, but I would love to see what they do if he does end up dying, but let’s just hope, fingers crossed, that he survives right until the end . Steve’s still the babysitter, haha, and he’s just had enough of everything . Steve and Dustin need their own spin off show . It would be like ” Hey kids, today we’re gonna show you how to get stuck in the upside down ”, then a few minutes later, Dustin would be like ” Steve, why did we do this bloody thing, are you out of your mind ?”. Then they’ll be another one where they try not to get stuck in a field but they get stuck in a field, haha, then there’s Dustin just losing his mind every time. That would be great, it needs to happen . I need that in my life .

I’m not actually sure about how I feel about Mike this season . He was kind of an idiot, to be honest . I feel like he should have been there for Eleven whilst all that crap was going on with Angela and the bullies . But it’s kind of in between, I still like him though, I don’t fully hate him, I think he’s okay, but he’s definetely changed since season one and season two . I still love him though, soley because it’s Finn Wolfhard . But yeah, that’s just how I feel about him . In season 1 and 2, he was a sweet, adorable angel and he really cared about Eleven, but then in season 3 and 4, he just became a complete douche . I love Finn Wolfhard, he’s amazing . But it’s the character I hate . I liked Mike’s speech in volume 2, like the one where Eleven is in one of Max’s memories and she’s being encountered by Vecna, and he’s telling her to stay strong and to keep fighting, I liked that, I thought it was very sweet .

Max had it tough, this season . She was not doing well at all . After everything that happened with Billy, she just went down hill and her mental health deteriorated . She suffered a lot of trauma . But Jesus, if you witnessed that, wouldn’t you be traumatized as well ?, it’s not for the faint hearted . Dear Billy is one of my most favourite episodes from series 4. It was just so emotional, I loved it . She thought that her time was up, so she just wrote tons and tons of letters, because she thought that she was gonna be next to get killed by Vecna . That bit was so sad and heartbreaking . I was like ” If Max dies, my whole day is gonna be ruined ”, haha, I was not having it, and neither was the rest of my family . The scene where she’s been taken over by Vecna, whilst Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush was playing in the back round, was amazing and it sent chills down my spine, I thought that was the end of Max . I love Kate Bush, so this was perfect . I now listen to Running Up That Hill every single day . My spotify playlist is like sixty % Kate Bush, Running Up That Hill, haha, it’s just an amazing song . Kate Bush was way ahead of her time, a literal legend, I love her so much . Kate Bush can save anyone. Oh the power of Kate Bush, ay ?, love her, she’s such an inspiration to me . The bit where the flash backs and the memories started fludding in, I felt like I was gonna cry, because it was so touching . Those were all the moments where she was happy, and she was with her friends, and that was what made her fight back, because her friends meant a lot to her more then anything else .  And the part where she fell onto the floor and in Lucas’s arms, she said ” I’m still here, I’m still here ”[, that made me cry, that line really makes you want to live . The main message, was that if you suffer from depression or bad mental health, don’t let it consume you, fight back. Think about the good things in life. I think it really struck a chord with so many young people who watch the show, because they can relate to the character, and they’ve gone through the same thing in life . Depression is a serious thing . Mental health is really important . I struggle with mental health sometimes, I may not look it, but I do, to you, I may just seem like a really bubbly, funny, happy person who finds the funny in everything, but I have my days, I’m not perfect . But I’m just really grateful for everything that I have, I have amazing parents, I’ve got a roof over my head . I’m beyond grateful for what I have and if anything, it’s keeping me from not hurting myself . I just see the sunshine outside and I just know that tomorrow’s gonna be a good day, and it’s the same for everyone else too . If there’s anyone who’s struggling with mental health and depression at the moment, I just wanna say, that everything’s gonna be alright, just hang in there, it’ll get better . Take care of yourself . But yeah, Max really had it hard this season, but I’m glad that she’s okay now, hopefully nothing bad happens again, I really like Max, she’s like that best friend you’ve always wanted . If I could choose what character I would be friends with, it would either be Eleven or Max, they’re both amazing .

I feel like Will was the third wheeler in this one . He started out as being one of the most important characters, one of the reasons why the show was made, but now he’s just put to the side . I feel like everyone’s saying that he didn’t have much of a part in season 4, and I totally agree . But hopefully, he has a bigger part in volume two . I just feel like he might sacfrifice himself in season 5 or something, I don’t know why, he’s just kind of ignored . There are rumors that he’s gay and that he has a crush on Mike . Like What the hell kinda bullshit, how can he have a crush on Mike . I mean, it kinda looks like he does, but I don’t think he’s gay . Noah said so himself . I think everyone’s just trying to make him gay when he’s not really gay . Anyway, Gay or straight, it doesn’t matter . What has someone’s Sexual orientation have to do with anything . Like that’s someone’s sexual preference . Everyone’s just trying to jump on the LGBT band wagon . They just want him to be gay so bad . Will’s character is great anyway . If he was gay, then that doesn’t do anything to the story . You can make him gay, like that’s fine, but just don’t make a big deal out of it .  Noah Schnapp is a great actor, he really carried the show . I really like how Will was so supportive of Eleven, like when it was her first day of school and she was getting bullied . When she was presenting her art project to her class, he was so supportive, that was so nice of him . I think it’s just great that he’s not suffering . Like he’s been through enough, the kid just deserves a break, he just wants to play D & D . I’d love to see what Noah Schnapp does next .

Jonathon was kinda lost, this season . He seemed to go down hill after he broke up with Nancy . He just didn’t really know what he was doing . I liked him in the earlier seasons, but still, I still like him . He’s not a really unbearable character, he’s alright . He’s just stoned . What a waste of a character . I feel like, ever since he met Argyle, they both became stoned and they just don’t know where they are. I love Charlie Heaton, he’s a great actor . I can’t believe he’s British . I always thought he was American . What’s up with all these British actors ?, haha. Is it just a thing ?, they seem to be finding loads of British actors and actresses for this series .

I loved Joyce, this season . Joyce Byers, ughh, what a queen, I love her. I really liked the whole storyline with her and Murray when they tried to save Hopper from Russia, it was absolute chaos, I love it . Murray and Joyce was the duo we never knew we needed, haha, they were brilliant . Joyce just needs a break, she’s been through so much . Love Winona Ryder, she’s amazing . If she didn’t get an award for her performance in Stranger Things then I’m gonna be really angry. She deserves all the awards and all the recognition, her and Millie Bobby Brown deserve all the appreciation, they are amazing . Millie Bobby Brown looked a lot like Joyce, this season. I think it’s the hair . I love Eleven’s new style, she’s so pretty .

I really liked Robin, this season . She has definetely changed a lot since season 3 . She’s more chatty and very energetic . I think she’s just more confident, or maybe she’s lost confidence in herself, I don’t know which one . I think after she came out to Steve, she got a lot more confident and she felt like she can say anything . She can be a bit annoying sometimes, but I still love her. She’s so wholesome . I stan Robin . I love Maya Hawke. I still can’t get my head around the fact that she’s Ethan Hawke’s daughter . Ethan Hawke is a legendary actor . He was in Dead Poets Society . Love that film, it’s amazing . I guess the talent runs in the family. I think that’s really cool . I wish nothing but happiness and success for Maya, she’s amazing . I love the partnership between her and Nancy, this season . They were great . i love the bit where Robin finds out that Nancy has a Tom Cruise poster in her bed room, it was so funny, Nancy’s just losing her mind, Robin is so wholesome. I also loved Steve and Robin’s friendship . People are saying that she might be Autistic . It’s possible, but I just think that she’s really chatty, I don’t think she’s autistic at all, but that’s just my opinion, I’m not an expert . But yeah, I love Robin, she’s awesome, a literal queen  .

Peter Ballard was absolutely demented . His introduction in episode 5 was terrifying . It’s that bit where Eleven finds herself in the Hawkins lab again, and then she walks into the rainbow room, and then he just suddenly appears . When I first saw him, I was like ” Who the bloody hell is that ?” ” Nah man, fuck that bruv”. And then Eleven runs out of that room and then she enters a different room but then you realize that it all leads to the same room . That scene just had me cracking up, I was like ” What is this shit ?”. Then he kept on turning up and saying the same thing . Eleven was like ” Aw hell nah ”, haha . That was my reaction as well, cause I literally had no idea who this geezer was . Peter Ballard’s character was so well written . You couldn’t really figure out whether he was a good guy or whether he was a bad guy . He comes across as an innocent person. I was like ” Oh okay, he seems fine ”, cause he was helping Eleven and he kept saying that he believed in her, and he got tortured for trying to help her. That was obviously the clear message . But then suddenly it all goes pear shaped . The reveal was absolutely amazing . I was not expecting that plot twist . He turned out to be 001. Everyone thought that 001 didn’t exist when Peter was in fact, 001 . And he was also Vecna, so that’s demented . I couldn’t believe I was simping for Vecna, haha. I can’t believe I trusted him. I always thought that he was innocent, but boy was I wrong ?. Jamie Campbell Bower absolutely smashed it with this role . He’s such a great actor . I love him so much  . 001 was absolutely terrifying . Jamie was such a great addition . The whole time, you think that Eleven caused the massacre at Hawkins Lab, but she didn’t, it was 001 all along . I honestly didn’t see it coming . I could tell that something was up with him, the first time I saw him . I loved the whole Victor Creel storyline as well. Finding out that Henry killed his family and that he was born with powers, that was crazy . I’m so curious to see what would have happened if Eleven did join him. Then she’d be dead, haha . But honestly though, great acting here from Jamie . I’d love to see what he can do next . I honestly just wish that I could work with him, somehow. I wish that he knew that I could write stuff as well, but you know, that would never happen . I could honestly talk about 001 forever but I think I should just move on . I can write a whole essay if you gave me the chance . I’ve just got so much to say . But yeah, I loved 001, he’s my one of my comfort characters, but that’s way before he turned into Vecna, that is, haha . But yeah no, his character was so well written . He was just a genuine phycho from beginning to the end . It’s refreshing to see that kind of take on villains, it’s not like a person who had a traumatic childhood and he turned into a phycho or a murderer, no, like he was already a phycho from the beginning, I love that .

We also saw the return of Dr Brenner . He faked his death is season one, then he rose up from beyond the grave . Honestly, it was kind of tricky to figure out whether he was bad or whether he was good. He generally looked like he cared for the kids in the lab . When he made an entrance, I was like ” Oh bloody hell, not him again ”. His death in season 4, volume two was kind of emotional but I wasn’t crying because he’s evil and he’s a parasite . Mathew Modine is such a great actor, he really killed the role . He’s so lovely in real life and his character makes you hate him, so that means that he’s an incredible actor .

{Talking about the storylines}

This season had so many interesting and fascinating story lines . The Victor Creel one was amazing . It was giving off Freddy Krueger vibes . That’s obviously because the character is played by Robert Englund . He is such an amazing actor . His character had so much depth . His storyline was really interesting . The whole thing with his family and then he was traumatized by what had happened and he just got locked up in a mental asylum . When in fact, it wasn’t even his fault, it was his son’s . I think it was just so well written . Dear Billy is one of my favourite episodes from this season, not only because of Max and Vecna’s storyline but also because of the Victor Creel one. It was just so horrifying and disturbing . Nancy and Robin had no idea what they were getting themselves into . They thought they knew the score, turns out, they didn’t . It’s a very compelling storyline, I love it . Season 4 had so many interesting storylines, so much was going on at once . Hopper was also in Russia . Joyce and Murray are on their own mission . Minus them ending up with Yuri . Yuri is a bloody loose cannon, he’s clearly unhinged, I have no idea where they found him . He keeps laughing like a maniac. The whole time, Joyce is like ” I can’t believe we’re stuck with this parasite now ”, haha, she was just so confused throughout the whole season . Season 4 had a lot of stuff going on . Each episode was about 1 hour and a half, the last episode in Season 4, volume one is about 2 hours, it’s like a full on film . But I think, you know, you need to make the episodes longer if you wanna tell the whole story. It was like five films rolled into one . Volume Two was crazy  . I really hope that Max wakes up, I’m still reeling from Eddie’s death . Just seeing how the last episode ended, I was like ” Aw shit ”, I feel like we’re gonna be in for a real treat when season five comes out, that will be in a few years  . I really loved volume two, it was more crazy then volume one, there was a lot to pack in . The last episode was perfect, like it was so emotional, it was a great way to end the season .

{Discussing the performances of all the actors and actresses}

Everyone just did an incredible job . Millie Bobby Brown was amazing, Sadie Sink was amazing, Caleb was incredible, Gaten was great, Natalia was great, Noah was amazing, Joe was amazing as well, David Harbour was amazing, as well as Winona Ryder, every one was amazing . They really killed it . Millie Bobby Brown did an amazing job in portraying Eleven this season, she really delved into her past traumas . She’s just so amazing . I feel like a proud mum, haha, she’s awesome . Each and every actor and actress who starred in this season deserves an award . They all brought out their A game and just did an amazing job . Sadie Sink was amazing, really talented actress . Max was in a really dark place, this season and she was really vunerable  . Just give her all the awards, like I don’t care, she’s amazing . I can’t imagine any other actress playing the role of Max, no one does it like Sadie, that’s for sure . She has a very bright future ahead of her, I’m looking forward to see what she does next in her blossoming career . I’m still not happy that no one won any awards though, like that’s just bullshit . The Oscars are a complete shambles . They only do things that suit their agenda . They always give awards to all that woke crap . Stranger Things won an award for best series when it first came out, but there’s nothing for the actors performances, which is so disgraceful . If I can go back and hack the system, I would give awards to everyone who was involved in the making of the show, including all the actors and actresses, job done, but you know, they can’t do that, so, shame on them . Everyone in the show should have won something, they are incredible . The Oscars only nominate and give awards to people who make woke BS.

They don’t accept anything that tells a good story, it’s only stuff that has gender and identity politics . Well, I do hope that all the woke films just bomb at the box office . Another show that should have won something is Midnight Mass . That show was absolutely amazing, and yet, it didn’t win anything . I’m so angry at the oscars or the Emmys for doing this . Midnight Mass is one of the best shows I have seen in so long, it deserves so many awards . The cast was incredible, the story was amazing. Everyone deserves an award, but I’m so annoyed and I’m not impressed with the award shows . They’re all bullshit anyway, it’s a fix . Oh well, I guess it’s their loss . They’re treating all those really shit woke films like the bloody Maharaja or something, it’s absolutely disgraceful . Stranger Things and Midnight Mass should have won something . I’m very disappointed in them for putting us on the spot like that . So disappointing . But yeah, everyone who was involved in the making of the show Stranger Things is incredible . I just love them so much  .  It will be so sad when the show ends, I feel like I have grown up with all the kids in the show, it’s almost like they’re my friends or something .

Overall, I really enjoyed the new season of Stranger Things, it was amazing . I’ll definetely be watching it all over again, I’m gonna spend my whole week end, binge watching Stranger Things 4, haha, that’s like my week end treat .
