The Big Impact Music Has On My Life And My Mental Health

Hi guys . As you all know, I love music . I’m always listening to music . Whether it’s film soundtracks, 80s music, 70s music, 60s music, 50’s music, I’m always listening to some kind of music . Music just makes me feel happy and it just makes me wanna get up and dance . I always start off my day by listening to music . In fact, I have this playlist, this one paticular playlist . It’s called  Start The Day Off With Style, and it has a bunch of energetic 80s songs on it . On this playlist, you are spoiled for choice . It’s a short playlist but it has most of my favourite songs on there . I have this other one that has hundreds and hundreds of songs on it. There’s a mix of 50s music, 60s music, 70s music, 80s music and 90s music . It’s quite a weird one because, you’ll have songs from actual bands and actual singers from different decades, then you’ll have old TV themes from TV sitcoms and programmes. Like I have all these TV themes from TV programmes from the 70s . Like Minder, The Professionals, The Sweeney, The Rising Damp, Grange Hill, George And Mildred, Robin’s Nest, Man About The House and all those kinds of shows. It’s actually one of my most favourite playlists . You will also find songs from musicals too . Like I have quite a few songs from Grease and Grease 2, and also some other ones from Oliver, Annie and West Side Story. I know that it’s weird but It’s just the way it is, haha, When it comes to my music, I’m very selective .

On my morning playlist, you have a variety of different music from different decades but it’s mainly from the 80s . So that’s the playlist . It just has a whole variety of different songs on there . I have made hundreds of my own playlists, it’s one of my favourite things to do in my free time . I have another one which is called Fun Memories With Friends . I seriously don’t know why I made this playlist, since I don’t have really have any friends but I still made it . My goal is to be more confident  and out going so I can make more friends and be more communicative cause I’m just really shy . I just need one good friend that I can vibe to these songs with, that’s all I want .I have yet to get onto that bit . Most of my playlists have the same songs on it but they’re not in the same order . I’ll go into that one as well .

A few months ago . My dad and my mum signed me up to go to some thing called The Writers Room, which takes place at The Hackney Empire . I really love writing so it’s perfect for me . I think it’s about time I went and ingaged with some kids my age too . I really hope I get in, if I do, then it will be the best thing ever . So for that, I made own playlist, which is called My Hackney Empire Breakthrough playlist . It’s a really long playlist so I’m not gonna share it with you guys, but I’ll give you a little taster of what I have on the playlist . There’s a lot of 50s music 60s music, 70s music, 80s music, a bit of 90s music as well, I also have songs from musicals on there, including old TV programme themes . It’s one of my favourite playlists . I made it specifically for that event . So I’m gonna make some friends and we’re gonna play some music and we’re gonna have a good time . It’s gonna be so fun . I’m gonna be like that one girl who hypes everyone up and makes them feel welcome, a girl who’s on hand to make sure that everyone’s doing okay. Dancing around the theatre, singing my lungs out into a hairbrush to energetic 80s music, you’re gonna hear me singing Johnny Remember Me in alleyways and near pubs, shocking everyone with my talents . That’s what I’m gonna be doing . In this thing, you have to take courses, so you just to go in every day, do your thing and overall just having an amazing time . I’m gonna go in there and I’m gonna show them what I’m all about . If you’re in Hackney and if you’re gonna be taking part in it as well. You’re probably see me dancing and singing a lot, you’re gonna see me doing loads of weird and funny stuff . You’re gonna also hear me talking about film, TV and music as well. If there’s anyone my age or even older who’s also taking part, who reads my blog, come and give me a shout, just come and say hi, I’d love to meet you .  But yeah, fingers crossed, I get in . I’d love to be a part of this . If I do end up doing it, I’m gonna do a write up on my post, talking about what it’s like to experience it . Okay so that’s all I have for my Script Writing And Story Writing playlist . As you can see, I listen to all kinds of different music . This was a mix of sad and energetic happy songs . When I listen to sad music when I’m doing my writing, I like to let it all sink in, I like to see characters and think about what they’re dealing with in that exact moment . If it’s a happy scene, I’ll play happy music, if it’s a sad and an emotional scene, I’ll listen to sad music . That’s really what I do . I listen to a lot of music on a daily basis . When I wake up, I play some 80s music. In the evening, I’ll play some easy listening music from the 60s and the 70s . When I’m studying and when I’m doing my home schooling, I’ll listen to stuff like Jon And Vangelis, I’ll listen to Joe Meek stuff, you know, all that slow paced relaxing music cause it really helps me focus . When I go to places, I listen to a lot of 80s  music too . Music is a big part of my life . I don’t know what I’d do without it . It’s left a big impact on my life .

I got my music taste from my dad . He introduced me to all these amazing, incredible bands and singers . He introduced all this 60s, 70s and 80s music to me . We always watch music documentaries together . We’re always watching some really interesting, fascinating stuff . I find interest in so many things . I’m really fascinated in film and music, I always have been . That’s why I decided to start writing poems and scripts and stories . Another person who has inspired me to carry on writing poems is a geezer called John Cooper Clark . John Cooper Clark was a punk poet in the early 80s . He did social commentary on what it was like living in Manchester in the early 80s . His stuff is brilliant, it’s bloody demented . He’s a very serious poet, he doesn’t muck about . He did a song called  Evidently Chicken Town . Throughout the whole song, he just rants about all the things he’s seeing . It’s almost like he had the worst day of his life and he decided to make a song about it . It’s like some disgruntled man complaining about everything, It’s just genius . My dad showed me this song and I started laughing my head off, I was like ” What is this shit ?”, but when I listen to it now, I realize and then I’m like ” Wow, this geezer’s serious . We always joke about it every now and then . But yeah, John Cooper Clark is an absolute genius . His poetry is absolutely brilliant . He has an influence on me in so many ways . We both do the same thing, I do social commentary as well. I write about community issues and stupid people . I get inspired by loads of things . I also keep an open mind, I’m open minded about trying new things . I listen to different music, I watch different TV programmes, I watch different films, I eat and I try new things, I always keep an open mind . I truly believe that I’m going to get somewhere with my work . I’m gonna keep doing my writing and I’m gonna keep putting my stuff out there. I’d love to do this for my career. It’s my pride and joy, creating my own pieces of art . That’s why I’m going to be taking part in The Hackney Empire Writers Room, I’m gonna make a start in my life . The future starts here .

I am one with pop culture  . I absolutely love pop culture . I love watching films, listening to music, watching TV shows . I love watching old TV programmes from the 70s . Every night, Me and my dad watch episodes of Minder . I absolutely love Minder . It’s just beyond magical . It’s such a good programme . We watch an episode every night .  Every night is not complete without an episode of Minder . You’ve gotta catch up with Aurthor And Terry and see what chaos they’re getting into .We also watch other programmes like The Sweeney and The Professionals . I bloody love those TV programmes, they’re so entertaining and I always love to see how the story turns out . The dramas are always demented, I love it . The dramas always have good, compelling stories and the comedies are so funny . I always watch those kinds of programmes with my dad . I always make sure I make a schedule . I’m like ” Right, I have to do this today, I have to do this, I’m gonna do this ”, I always make sure I get stuff done . I sing and dance, I read, I write, I watch TV shows, I blog, I do my workout, I listen to music, I go and visit my nan, my uncle, my auntie and my little cousin, I go shopping sometimes. I make sure I spend each day doing things . If I feel like I want to learn something, I’ll go and I’ll learn it. I always fill my day with exciting things .  Stuff that’s worth doing.

It has a big impact on my mental health . I always try and find something to do, otherwise I’ll get bored and I’ll just drive myself mad . I spend my time on important things, like family, fun, stuff that will set up my future . I push out all the negativity as much as possible At the moment, I’m gonna make the most of my child hood . I’m not gonna rush to get old . Right now, I’m focusing on having fun, enjoying my child hood, spending time with family, doing my writing, singing and dancing, going places and just having a good time, being a stupid teenager . All of that other stuff, like wearing adult’s clothing, wearing makeup and getting a boyfriend, I can do later on . Right now I’m enjoying my child hood .

Music really helps me . It makes me feel happy and it just makes me wanna get up and dance . A lot of people will be shocked once they find out what music I listen to, I’m very advanced for my age  . Half the stuff I watch and listen to, a lot of kids my age won’t know what it is . And that’s okay, everyone’s allowed to have different music tastes, the world would be boring if we all liked the same thing . Different things help shape different people . Just because you like a paticular band, I’m not gonna make fun of you for it, if that’s your thing, then you do you . But I think it’s good to keep an open mind . Listen to new music and when you listen to different weird music, don’t say it’s shit or it sounds terrible. Listen to it and say it’s good . Trying new things is exciting, there’s so much weird stuff out there, never be afraid to explore it . I listen to some very weird stuff . I’m like that one friend who plays weird music all the time . I think it’s unique. I’m glad that I was different compared to the rest of the kids in my school . I knew about so many things that even they didn’t know about . Which to me, is so magical, it’s almost like I’m from a different planet . I’d love to pass my music and my film taste onto someone else and let them discover something like that as well .

The one thing that binds us together as humans is music . Music brings people together . Discover someone’s wild music taste and overall, just forget your worries and your stresses and you just let your hair down and get up and dance for a moment . Music fills my heart and soul with joy . I just love listening to new albums. Finding a hidden gem is like the best thing ever, it’s like finding a bundle of joy and you’re like ” Oh my goodness, why didn’t I listen to this before ”. I get that impression a lot . I felt like that, whilst listening to all the Sparks albums . Recently, me and my dad have been doing this thing where we go back and listen to all the various albums from the 80s . So like all the Duran Duran albums, all the Tears For Fears albums, all the Spandau Ballet albums, all the Human League albums . It’s been so amazing . It makes my day  . Pop Culture just fills me with so much joy . Especially 80s pop culture . All those crazy stories from the 80s, all the music, all those films, it all just seems so fascinating to me . I’m always doing research on certain decades .

Half the music I’ve listened to has shaped who I am as a person, it made me who I am today . I just love having a little sing along to some of my favourite songs . It just makes me forget about all my troubles for a second and I just feel the beat and the rhythem of the song . It’s almost like I’m in my own world . It’s great escapism for me  . All that chaos and all the bad stuff that’s happening out in the world, it takes my mind off of that stuff and it helps create a safe space . I create my own world in my head . You can’t fix all the things that’s happening in the world, but you can fix yourself and that’s all what matters .

I’ve been experiencing some weird things lately . I just realized that I have loads of emotions . I just sometimes feel so emotional. I start crying, even though there’s no reason to . I just do and it’s bloody insane . I watch stuff and I start getting emotional very suddenly . Which is weird cause usually, I never cry at films and TV shows . I can’t even listen to the song Golden Slumbers by The Beatles without shedding a few tears . It just makes me so emotional, that’s obviously because it’s a beautiful song . I have a right to cry whilst listening to that . Paul McCartney’s voice is so beautiful . Every time there’s an emotional scene in a film or a TV programme, I feel like I’m gonna cry, which I never do . It’s such a weird feeling . But I guess, as you grow up, you get more emotional . That just means you have a heart . It’s okay to cry . I think it’s bloody ridiculous that I’m crying at a Beatles song, but I guess that’s just how it is, haha  .

But yeah, music has a big impact on my mental health . It just makes me so happy. It makes me happy to see that all these bands and singers just went and did their own thing and didn’t give a shit about anyone . That’s truly inspirational . Just go and do your thing, don’t give a crap about anyone else  . Those are some words to live by .

Music just makes everything so much better . Learning about the process of music composing is even more fascinating . How they all did it, what they were all thinking at the time . I’m always watching music documentaries with my dad . 80s pop culture will always manage to peak my interest .
