My Favourite Simon And Garfunkel Albums And Songs
Hi guys, welcome back to Big Blog Theory, I hope you’re all doing well. As you all know I really love Simon And Garfunkel and I’ve been really falling in love with their music all over again I’ve been wanting to talk about some of my favourite albums of theirs. I’ve talked about some of my favourite songs but not albums so I’m going to get into that today.
One of my favourite albums is The Sound Of Silence, I’ve played and listened to this album so many times, it’s just such a great album with so many great songs. It’s one of those albums, records that are on my list to buy, I would love to have it in my record collection.

One of my absolute favourite songs is The Leaves That Are Green. No matter how many times I’ve listened to this song it always sends a shiver down my spine and I start getting a bit emotional. The lyrics are very powerful and beautiful.
I’ll write down some of the lyrics down below so that you’ll know what I’m talking about
I was twenty one years when I wrote this song
I’m twenty two now but I won’t be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
I’m sorry but, these have to be some of my favourite words and lyrics in any song that I’ve listened to. I also have Paul Simon’s book of lyrics and I love it so much. Paul Simon was such a great talent and he really had a way with words, I love the way he wrote his songs. A huge inspiration to me.
I’ve also got a few other favourite songs from this album, including The Sound Of Silence, obviously but also Somewhere They Can’t Find Me, Kathy’s Song, that one is also really beautiful especially the lyric ” The only truth I know is you” always has me tearing up every single time, also there’s Richard Cory, A Most Peculiar Man, April Come She Will, that’s another song that always makes me cry every time I listen to it when Art starts singing about the days of the month, it was a very beautiful song and his voice is so beautiful when he sings that and it will always be one of my favourites. Another song I love is I Am A Rock, I love that song. I just love the whole album, it’s so beautifully put together and crafted. It’s one of those albums I keep going back to. I’ve also got a book written about them, it’s called Together Alone, I’m so looking forward to reading it.
I also have a few other favourite albums too. I plan on giving Bookends a listen some time this week, one of their popular albums. That album also features the song Mrs Robinson from the film The Graduate, such a great song and I always find myself smiling and dancing to it every time it comes on. I just love Simon And Garfunkel so much, they’re one of my comfort listens and I find their music very healing. I’m still going back and watching their concert in Central Park, New York 1982, I love it so much, probably one of the best concerts ever. Paul Simon was such a wonderful talented songwriter and Art Garfunkel had such a beautiful voice. I would love to hear people’s stories and memories of when they went to that concert, it looked like so much fun.
If you haven’t listened to the album The Sound Of Silence yet, please do go and check it out, you will not be disappointed at all.
That’s all I have time for today, I hope you all liked my post, I hope you all have a lovely day wherever you are right now. Love you guys, stay tuned for more work on Big Blog Theory.
