The Kids On The East Side Of Town Script 9, Let’s Get Ready To Rumble

Liam} Ok guys, did everybody get good sleep ?.

Everybody} Yes .

Liam} We have to make sure that we’re ready .

Tommy} We are ready .

Connor} Yeah, I’m ready for anything you throw at me .

Liam} Yeah, We are ready for whatever comes .

Connor} Yeah, I’ve had enough of the Rejects, not now, though, they are gonna have to deal with the big boys now .

Liam} What time are they gonna meet us ?.

Connor} I arranged it, at about 4 o clock , if that’s gonna work .

Tommy} Yeah, I think that should work out .

Connor} Yeah, anyway , we need to challenge them to a rumble, we need to get even, before it’s too late .

Liam} Yeah, ok, that seems about it, I say it’s time to rumble , what do you say ?.

Connor} Yeah, let’s go .

{ They all went and lined up , outside}

{Carter’s gang turned up}

Logan} Oh, so you came ?.

Connor} Yeah, someone has to .

Logan} Good enough, just testing you , I bet that you are scared .

P{Liam walks in to interrupt } ” Hah, us ?, not a chance ” .

{Connor pulls him back}

Connor} No, we are not scared .

Logan} Ok, let the games begin .

{ They all go for each other}

{ They all punch and kick each other}

{Tommy gets knocked on the floor, facing down}

Connor picks him up} ” Are you ok, huh, come on . { puts him in his car}

{Officer comes running in}

Officer} What do you think you are doing ?.

{Connor speaking to the officer}

Connor} My friend over here has just been in the wars, had a little accident, I’m just taking him to the hospital .

Officer} Oh ok, { Walks off}

{ Drives him to the hospital}

{ Meanwhile, at the hospital}

Connor} Is he gonna be ok ?.

Nurse} I’m sure he’ll be ok, we just need to keep him in for 2 days, to see if his injuries heal .

Connor} Oh ok .

{Liam walks in}

Liam} Sorry, there was some chaos, out there, how’s everything going ?.

Connor} It doesn’t look good, we are just waiting for results .

Liam} Ok.

{ They go home }

Travis} Is everything ok, what’s going on ?.

Liam} I don’t know, he doesn’t look good, I don’t know what I’m gonna do , what if he dies ?.

Travis} He won’t, I’m sure he won’t die, he can’t .

Liam} Yeah, just have to see on how things go .

{ Connor, Jamie, Liam, Travis are walking outside}

{ Liam get’s a phone call}

{Liam picks up the phone}

Liam} Hey, what happened ?, is everything ok ?.

Nurse} Hi, you better come quick, it’s not looking to good .

Liam} Crap .

Travis} Liam, what is it, talk to me .

Liam} It’s, it’s the nurse, she wants us to head to the hospital, she has some news about Tommy .

Travis} Ok .

{ Connor drives Travis and Liam to the hospital}

{ They get to the hospital}

{Liam, Connor, Jamie and Travis walk through the door}

Liam} Doc, what’s going on ?.

Doctor} Tommy’s got something to tell you .

Liam} Ok, where is he ?.

Doctor} He’s just in the next room on the left .

Liam} Ok .

{ Liam enters the room}

Liam} Hey Tommy, what’s going on, man ?.

{Tommy grasps as he speaks}

Tommy} Hey Liam, how’s it going ?.

Liam} Not bad , how are you feeling ?.

Tommy} Still very sore, my whole body is gone , don’t think I’ll ever be able to walk again .

Liam} You’ll be ok, you can’t die, now , we need you here with us .

Tommy} I can’t predict anything, what ever happens, happens .

Liam} Don’t say that .

{ The gang walks in}

Liam} Oh guys, you made it .

Connor} Yeah, how’s Tommy ?.

Liam} Not so good, man .

Tommy} Did you have the rumble with the Rejects ?.

Connor} Yeah .

Tommy} How did it go ?.

Connor} It went ok , I wouldn’t say that we won , but we tried our best .

Tommy} oh ok  { Suddenly stops talking}

{Connor moves closely to Tommy to hear him}

Connor} Tommy, talk to me .

{ They suddenly start crying}

Travis} Is he ok ?.

Nurse} Yeah, he’s just unconcious, we’ll call you back .

Travis} Ok, { They wait in the waiting room}

Connor} Do you think that he’ll pull through ?.

Liam} Yeah, I’m sure he will, he’s tough .

{ They get called back in}

{They walk back in}

{ Connor talks to the Nurse}

Connor} How is he ?, how’s Tommy ?.

Nurse} He’s ok, he’s just getting his therapy .

Connor} Ok, do you mind if we go in ?.

Nurse} Of course , I’m sure he’ll appreciate visitors .

{ They walk in the room}

Liam} Hey, .

Tommy} Hey, nurse, am I done getting therapy ?.

Liam} Tommy, this is Liam, your buddy, I’m not the nurse, do you remember me ?.

Tommy} No, I don’t think so .

Liam starts tearing up} ” Tommy, how can you not remember us, we are your buddies .

Tommy} Sorry , I don’t know you .

Connor} Tommy, do you remember me ?.

Tommy} No, you don’t look familiar , who are you ?.

Connor} This is Connor, come on Tommy, don’t tell me that you forgot about us .

Tommy} I’m sorry, goodbye .

Connor} No Tommy, don’t die , no . { Starts crying}

{Tommy lies unconcious as he dies}

{Liam, Travis and Jamie stands there in sorrow as they look at Tommy}

{Meanwhile, Connor runs away and sits down on a bench}

{Connor talks to himself}

Connor} Why , why did it have to be Tommy ?, why could it be Jacob ?.

{ Then he runs off}

{ Meanwhile, Liam and the gang run to find Connor only to find out that he’s in danger }

Liam} Connor, where are you ? .

{ Meanwhile, Connor’s running in the street with a gun  that he found on the floor }

Liam} Connor, what are you doing ?, get out of there .

{ Then the mob run after him}

{The mob members were standing and pointing the gun at him}

Liam} No, don’t shoot, please .

Connor said as he was kneeling on the floor, slowly dieing} ” It’s over, I’ll never forget you, goodbye .

Liam} No . { Then he started to shout at him from the top of his voice}

Liam} See what you did, you guys can go to hell , you go right to hell .{ Then he started tearing up with anger and fear}

{Travis runs to talk to Liam}

Travis} Liam, where’s Connor ?.

Liam} He’s gone .

Travis} What ?, say that you’re joking .

Liam} I’m not, he’s gone, the mob ran after him, he got shot by one of the members , he told me that it’s over .

Travis} Oh my god . { Then he starts crying}

{Jamie runs to Liam and Travis}

Jamie} Guys, where’s Connor ?, Tommy left this letter , he wanted me to give it to you and Connor .

Liam} Connor’s dead , so is Tommy .

Jamie} What ?.

Liam} Yeah, he got shot .

{Jamie starts crying}

Travis} Look, it’s gonna be fine, he’s up there , in a happy place, he’s happy and healthy , he’s probably driving to the ocean to see the dolphins with Connor , come on, let’s go home .

{ They walked home}

{Carter’s gang was still hanging around}

Jacob} Hah, the gang of losers , what are you still doing around here, punks ?.

Liam} Are you happy now ?, are you happy ?, both of my friends are dead, I witnessed it in front of my own eyes , I just wish that you’d leave us alone . { Starts breaking down}

Jacob} I don’t give a shit , probably deserved it .

Liam walks up to Jacob}

Liam} Hey, listen to me, none of my friends deserved it, I never wanted it to happen, I just wanted to be a good friend and get even with you , now that I’ve done that, I got something else , nobody deserves to die, no matter what they did wrong in their lives .

Jacob} Well, you know what ?, we are even, let’s go fellas . { He leaves }

Liam} I need to go, see ya , { He hugs the gang}

{Liam walks away and sits on his garden patio }

{Liam opens his letter from Tommy}

{Tommy in his letter} { And Tommy shows up on screen as he’s reading it}

”  Hey Liam, I asked the nurse to give Travis this letter so that you can read it , if you are reading this ,  it means that our time together has come to an end, there are a few words that I’d like to say to you .

Before I met you, I was a broken man, I had many problems in the past, but you have made me a different person , I couldn’t thank you enough .

Don’t be upset that I died, it was worth protecting you guys, it was worth getting even with the Rejects , and I did it so that you can live a happy, free life , enjoy your time here, we can’t predict when we leave this Earth , remember when I harassed you with the radio , they were good times, but unfortunatly , good times have to come to an end .

The sunset is pretty tonight, but it’s not the same without you guys standing by my side, make sure you tell Connor to watch another sunset too, I have a feeling he’s missing out , and tell him that there’s lots of good in the world, I think he already knows but it’s good to remind him .

And don’t be bugged over about being an Eagle, you still have a lot of time to make up for who you want to be .

{ And Connor shows up on screen as Liam’s reading it }

Tell Connor to live his life to the fullest and let him know that he still has a good few years left . You should tell Connor that he shouldn’t be upset , I’m in a very happy place, and make sure that he’s in a happy place too , and no matter if I’m dead, I’ll always be with you .
