The Kids Of The Youth Detention Center, Chapter 7, Love Is In The Air

The next morning, I woke up, I felt a tiny bit cold, but the windows were wide open, so there’s no surprise there. I got up and joined the rest of the group .

” Hey guys ”, I said, as I was having my morning stretch .

” Oh hi, Detroit, did you sleep well ?”, Carson asked, as he was rubbing his eyes from yawning .

” Yeah, slept like a baby ”, I replied .

” What shall we do today ?”, Dylan wandered .

” I don’t really know ”, I said . Then suddenly, we heard screaming and shouting from somewhere around the prison cells, I didn’t know where though, it could of been anywhere .

” Oh my god, did you hear that ?”, Dylan asked, as he ran around and leaned up against the wall, hoping to hear something .

” There’s something there, I’m gonna check it out, see ya ”, Dylan said, and he ran out . When Dylan approached the room, he saw a girl getting imprisoned by a bunch of prison guards .

” Owwww, leave me alone, get your dirty hands off of me ”, she screamed .

” Stand up, just bloody stand up, otherwise I’m gonna blow you inside out ” the prison guard  yelled and he tied and locked her in a cell .

” You cruel man, I can’t believe that you would do such a thing to a girl like me ”, she said, as she stood there, freaking out . And once the prison guards left the room, Dylan went to go and talk to the girl .

” Are you okay ?”, Dylan asked .

” uhhhhhhh, uhh ”, she mumbled as she was shaken .

” It’s alright, it’s ok, it’s gonna be alright, he’s gone now, ok, you’re safe, you’re alright now, okay, it’s gonna be alright, ”, Dylan said as he was comforting her .

” Who are you ?, and what do you want from me, if you are here to hurt me or hand cuff me, why don’t you just do it, come at me ?”, she said, with fear in her voice . Then she started shaking from fear .

” Woah, hey, oh my god, you’re shaking, it’s alright, oh my god, look at you, you poor thing ”, Dylan said, with a gentle and a subtle voice, as he was trying to comfort her and calm her down .

” Oh my god, I think I just saw the guard, he was standing right there ”, she said, as she started helucinating .

” No, no, you didn’t see anyone, you didn’t see anyone, it’s alright ”, Dylan said, with a gentle voice .

” Are you gonna hurt me ?”, she asked .

” No, I’m not here to hurt you, there’s no reason to be afraid, I’m here to help ”, he said .

” Oh really ?”, she asked, as she dried her tears and sat down with him .

” What’s your name ?”, he asked .

” It’s Carly, what’s yours ?”, she asked .

” It’s Dylan, so, what is it this time, fraud, attempted murder, GBH ?”, He asked .

” It’s Fraud, I just stole a silly little bag of penny sweets, and now I’m here for the rest of my life, the system is a total shambles ”, Carly replied .

” Yeah, it’s really dumb, it’s not like you killed someone, ain’t it ?”, he said .

” Yeah no of course not, it’s silly, and to think that I’m supposed to be home for my sister’s birthday, nuh, doesn’t look like it ”, Carly said as she looked at the ceiling . ” Thanks for coming, by the way, I honestly don’t like the look of the place, I’m scared ”, Carly added .

” It’s ok, you’re gonna be just fine, hey, why don’t you come and meet my friends, they’ll adore you ”, he recommended .

” Really ?, yeah thanks, I’d love to, are you sure that I won’t be interrupting anything, like, are you ok with me coming to meet your friends ?”, she said .

” Yeah, no problem, I’m sure that they’d love to meet you, it would be nice to have some company ”, Dylan said .

” Oh ok cool, I’ll come and meet your friends ”, she said . And so, Dylan walked through the door with somebody .

” Hey guys ”, he said, as he walked in .

” Hi, who’s that ?”, I asked .

” Oh this is Carly, Carly, these are my friends, Detroit, Miles and Carson ”, he introduced her to us .

” Where did you find her ?”, Carson asked Dylan .

” Oh, she’s an inmate, she just got admitted here, I heard screaming and I went to go and see and I saw her getting attacked and tortured by this prison guard, I had to go and help her, I couldn’t just leave her ”, he explained .

” Oh cool, she’s very pretty, I like her hair, what is it, it’s like brunette ”, I said .

” Aww, thank you so much ”, Carly said as she had a smile on her face . Then Jay came in the room .

” Hi everybody, wait, who’s that ?”, Jay asked .

” Oh this is Carly, I met her in a prison cell ”, Dylan replied .

” Oh nice to meet you, Carly ”, Jay greeted her .

”  So, what are your hobbies ?”, Dylan asked her .

” Um yes, I like doing photography, art and baking, what about you ?”, she asked .

” Oh cool, I’m very much into music, my dad used to be a DJ at night clubs, so I pretty much grew up with music ”, Dylan replied .

” Wow, that’s very interesting ”, she said with a surprised look on her face .

”Woah Dylan, look at you, a whole new man, I’m proud ”, I said .

” Yeah, I wanted to change myself for the better, the crime life is making my head spin ”, he explained .

” That’s great to hear, I’m sure that your mum will be so proud ”, Jay said .

” Yeah, I think that the prison guard is calling me, I need to go back to my cell,  it was nice meeting you all, oh and Dylan, call me sometime, okay ?”, she said as she looked at Dylan, and she walked out of the room .

” Of course, see ya ”, he said, as he waved .

” Dude, I think that she likes you ”, Carson said .

” Really ?”, he asked .

” Yeah man, you should totally ask her out one day ”, Carson replied .

” I don’t know, man, I never had the guts to ask her out ”, Dylan said .

” Well, when the time comes, you make a move ”, Carson told him .

” Yeah, thanks for the advice, man ”, he said . A few minutes later, the girl left, the room was quiet and Dylan was wandering around the room, I could tell that he still had feelings for her, she was always on his mind, but she never said goodbye, so it’s not the really the end for her and him, so it should be fine .

” Dylan, do you still have feelings for her ?”, I asked him .

” Yeah, and she left, just like any girl would ”, he replied, as he was stumbling around .

” Look, it’s not your fault that she left you, all of the shame should go on her ”, I said .

” No Detroit, I don’t even know why any girl would want to date me, anyway, I’m a loser ”, he mumbled .

” No, you are not a loser, don’t say that, you are too good for her ”, I said, as I looked at him in the eye .

” No, don’t think so, I was told that I’d never get a girl, they were right ”, he said .

” Look, you will get one, don’t listen to them ”, I said. ” Look, let’s join the rest of the group, have some boy time, forget about Carly, give her some time to think things through ”, I said as I tried to distract him .

” Um ok ”, he said, and we walked off .

A few minutes later, they heard more screams coming from the cell next door, so Dylan ran over as fast as could and it appeared to be Carly, she got scared again .

” What happened, is everything ok ?”, Dylan asked, as he ran into the cell .

” Yeah, I um, I’m feeling very uncomfortable staying in this place, so I was wondering if you could stay here with me, you know, by my side, I’m quite scared here, so it would be nice to have some company, would that be alright ?”, Carly asked .

” Yes, of course, I would be more then happy to ”, Dylan replied .

” Great thank you ”, Carly said . And they both shared the room together, Dylan was there for some company, since Carly was quite scared and she felt safe having Dylan around, so Dylan offered to stay the night, which was really nice of him .

”The night was still young, tomorrow is another day ”
