Queen, Unseen, My Life With The Greatest Rock Band Of The Twentieth Century

Okay so a few months ago, I finished reading a book which is called Queen, Unseen. This book was an insight into the band Queen and all the moments and all the things you didn’t know about the band. As you all know, I am a big fan of Queen, my whole family loves Queen so this book was perfect for me. It gave me an insight into what the members of Queen were really like behind the scenes. This book was written by Peter Hince, if I remember correctly, he was one of Queen’s managers and he was on tour with them quite a lot. I had such a ball reading this book, it made me crack up with laughter, there are some fantastic stories in here. Freddie Mercury was such a drama queen, it’s so hilarious, I love him, such a legend. He’s such a mood.

He talks about his experiences with the band, he talks about what it was like touring with them, it’s such a great book. The fact that someone who knew them 247 wrote this just makes it so much better. He actually knew them and it’s not like someone who doesn’t know them and he’s making up stories about them, that’s what adds onto the experience . So many great stories in this book, occasionally, I go back and I read some of it again because the stories involving the band are really funny . It just shows you all the chaos they got up to.

I don’t want to give too much away so I’m just going to keep it short for now. Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. If there are any Queen fans out there, I strongly recommend this book, you can get a rare insight into your favourite band and have a lot of fun while doing so, Queen will forever be one of my all time favourite bands, they were so ahead of their time.

I hope you all have a nice day, love you guys

Really Saying Something, Bananarama

A few months ago, I read a book which was called Really Saying Something. Really Saying Something is a memoir about Bananrama. Sara and Keren were the two main girls from the group and they came forward and wrote a memoir, sharing their experiences about the group, fame and being in the spotlight at a really young age, especially in the early 80s. I really loved this book, it was really fun to read and it was really interesting. Me being a fan of their earlier work, this was such a joy to read. Personally, I like their earlier songs more because I’m not a fan of Stock Aitken and Waterman, I like their older stuff, but you know, each to their own.

This book gave me an insight into what it was like for them, rising up to fame, this book talked a lot about their friendship, it talks about their days in school, it was just a great book. They also mention Fun Boy Three because they did one or two songs with them. I love The Specials so Fun Boy Three are great too. It’s an absolute shame what happened to Terry Hall, it’s so sad that he passed away, he was a legend, he was really young as well, he had a lot more to give. There were like so many legends passing away, first we had Dennis Waterman, then we had others like Olivia Newton John, Irene Cara, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bernard Cribbins, it’s dreadful, we’re losing so many great talents and legends. This book had some great, funny stories as well, I like the one with Robert De Niro, that one’s really funny, it’s just a really beautifully crafted book, I learned so much about these two and the history of Bananarama. If there are any Bananarama fans out there, I recommend this book, you’ll have an absolute ball reading this.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you all have a superb evening wherever you are, love you guys

You Couldn’t Ignore Me If You Tried

Okay so a few months ago, I’ve been reading a book which is called You Couldn’t Ignore Me If You Tried. You Couldn’t Ignore Me If You Tried is a book that was written by Susannah Gora. It’s about all the John Hughes films from the 80s . I’ve always been really interested in learning about films from that time period, especially if it’s John Hughes. John Hughes was and is an absolute legendary director and film maker. All of his films just have that magic touch. This book talks about his upbringing, his films and it also explains the origin of The Brat Pack, what it was like when making these kinds of films, they just touch up on everything . His films just made such a big impact on the generation and the generations to come. He really knew how to capture the essence of teenagers and he gave those a voice who felt they weren’t being listened to. I really love his films. The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off are my absolute favourites . I’m just obsessed with The Breakfast Club, it’s just awesome . Uncle Buck and Home Alone are my favourites too.

This was such a great read. John Hughes wanted to be a director and a writer when he was younger but his parents were like ” No, get out of your little dream world, go to college, study and get a proper job ” that must have been awful to go through, especially if it was something he was really passionate about, just to go through all that only for your hopes and dreams to be crushed. I see a lot of myself in John Hughes, considering how he just felt like a fish out of the water and he felt like he didn’t belong . I feel like art and pop culture was escapism for him, when it all got a bit too much for him, he would just go and spend some time with himself in his little corner, just doing the things he wanted to do or the things he had pleasure doing which is something what I would do sometimes when I didn’t have many friends, I would just sit there for ages, thinking about certain things and reading books, fun times. It’s just good to stand out and do your own thing, you don’t want to be like everyone else. That chapter struck a chord with me, especially because I went through the exact same thing, but now I look back and I’m grateful it went that way because if I followed the herd, then I wouldn’t get to do all this amazing theatre stuff and I wouldn’t have all these opportunities, I would be working in Morrisons, stacking shelves or something. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that but I’m glad I went my own way. So yeah, that chapter was really interesting, I learned so much from it, it just goes to show how the most quiet individuals are the most talented and interesting individuals. When you enter a really loud, noisy room, go and find the most quiet person there, because they’re the ones who are most likely to be really interesting .

If you’re a big fan of John Hughes, I totally recommend this book. You’ll learn so much, especially about the Brat Pack, it’s a really interesting subject, those kinds of films are a huge part of American cinema and a big part of American History, John Hughes paved the way for many other film directors and writers in Hollywood. His films will forever be classics, they’re just so magical.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. I totally recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of John Hughes, Susannah did a great job writing this book, it was a great tribute to the late John Hughes and a homage to all the 80s films, I had so much fun reading this. Have a great day everyone

My Amazing Night At The Royal Albert Hall, The Sound Of 007

Okay so, a few months ago, me and my family went to The Royal Albert Hall to see the sound of 007. I’ve been wanting to share my experience for quite a while now. I’m really sorry if I haven’t been blogging lately, A little while ago, I caught a vomiting bug and I could hardly move let alone do any work, but I’m better now so that’s all what matters.

We went to the Royal Albert Hall to see the Philharmonic orchestra perform all the James Bond songs from all the James Bond films. As you all know, I’m a huge James Bond fan, me and my family are huge James Bond fans. I love all the old films featuring Sean Connery and Roger Moore. As well as the story and the acting, the music also plays a huge part in the films and it’s what makes them so memorable. This was just so absolutely amazing.

They did all my favourite James Bond songs but they left out a few which is what I was a bit disappointed with but it’s okay, at least they got around to doing most of them. Everyone in the philharmonic orchestra was just absolutely incredible, I loved the singers, I just think they all did such a fantastic job. I had so much fun too, I was just there, so off beat whilst clapping along to Live And Let Die, I’m so shit at beats. I was just not clapping along on time, my dad and my sister were sitting there, looking at me like ” what are you bloody doing?”. I was having fun, when I’m having fun, I don’t care about doing the right beats, haha, but yeah no, it was so much fun.

There were also some really weird things going on during the event. About a few rows down from us, there was this geezer holding bloody two pairs of trousers. He just pulled out these pairs of trousers out of nowhere, he had like a pair of white and a pair of black trousers, so random. I was just sitting there, thinking ” This geezer, man, why has he got two pairs of trousers with him” I was just trying so hard not to laugh. I swear to god, weird things happen every time we go to a gig or a music event. The same thing happened when my dad and my sister went to go and see Roxy Music at The Royal Albert Hall. They were sitting near the back, enjoying the music and then suddenly, they could feel cold air/ wind behind them, they turn around and there was this woman just getting up and dancing really fast. She was just enjoying herself, the poor woman. I guess that’s what I love about gigs though, it’s a safe space for us music lovers and nerds, it’s a place where we can express ourselves and have fun without feeling embarrassed . But yeah no, they could just feel air circulating at twenty miles per hour and then you just see this woman dancing next to you, haha. That wasn’t the only thing that happened, about a few minutes later, there was this person looking at pictures of bloody rabbits on their phone, like who does that?. You’re at a gig, fat chance you probably won’t see Bryan Ferry perform ever again, enjoy the moment, put your phone down, you can look at pictures of rabbits when you get back home, why does it have to be at a bloody Roxy Music gig? . After all that, they thought that was it, they were like ” Oh good, it’s over” and then, there was this geezer raising a glass in the air, looking at his bloody drink, smh. They really enjoyed the Roxy Music gig, it’s a shame I didn’t get to go, I was at home, reminicising about what a great night they were having, anyway, there’s always next time.

I really enjoyed this James Bond event. The sound was amazing, the songs were really well performed, everything was just fantastic, I’m so glad we got to experience this ourselves. As a James Bond fan myself, I fell in love with the music, I know all the songs off by heart, I’ve got so many favourites. My favourite bond has to be Roger Moore, because he’s an absolute legend. I love some of his other work like when he was in TV shows like The Persuaders, The Saint and then some films such as Escape To Athena, North Sea Hijack, The Man Who Haunted Himself, Shout At The Devil, he was in so much great stuff. He brought something new to the table, I love his James Bond because he was really charming and funny, I love all his James bond films, so he has to be my favourite James Bond of all time but I still love the others too, they’re all great in their own ways, I sometimes find myself just watching one of Roger Moore’s bond films with my dad from time to time, they’re just so amazing. Moonraker is my absolute favourite, but so is For Your Eyes Only, A View To A Kill, Man With A Golden Gun, Octopussy, Live And Let Die, The Spy Who Loved me, I’ve got so many favourites.

This event was a great tribute to the late John Barry and Ian Flemming, both geniuses who made James Bond films for what they are today, they really had no idea that a few years later, these films would have such an special place in everyone’s hearts. The Royal Albert Hall is such a great place to go if you want to see live music, especially orchestras. The next time I go to The Royal Albert Hall, it’s going to be for the Sparks gig so that’s really exciting, me and my sister are going to wear Sparks T shirts.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. This was a short post because I didn’t want to say too much. So yeah, that’s really all I wanted to say about this event, I had so much fun. It made me appreciate the James Bond franchise even more. I hope you all have a lovely evening, I’m going to go and watch a few episodes of The Sweeney and The Professionals with my dad then I’m going to watch Inside no 9, Life On Mars,Mind Your Language, Green Wing, Tucker’s Luck and Grange Hill because they’re my favourite shows at the moment, let me know if you like them too. Love you guys

My Favourite TV Shows And Programmes, TV Chat

I have so many favourite TV shows. I have so many favourite TV shows from the 70s, there are some TV shows that I like from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and some from nowadays as well . I spend half my time watching TV shows, whether it’s reality or fiction, such as dramas and comedies . So I think it’s about time I shared my favourite TV shows with you, so sit back, grab a snack, grab a drink, get comfortable and enjoy .

This Country is one of my most favourite TV shows of all time . I absolutely love This Country . If you don’t know what it’s about, basically, This Country is about these two people, called Kerry and Kurtan, they are cousins and they live in the Cotswolds . They have very little to do . It’s a mocumentary following their daily lives living in a rural area . When I first saw this show, I immediately thought that it was real, like I thought that it was a real documentary, I didn’t think it was a TV show . It just looks so real, like anyone who lives in a village or the Cotswolds, acts like that and they all just go slightly mad . This Country is so funny, I honestly haven’t laughed that much for a very long time . When I first discovered this show, it was on TV and I was like ” What is this shit, is this real, it’s just two people sitting around, doing nothing ”, I thought it was shit, but then we all sat down and watched it from the very first episode and I just loved it . I love how Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper based the show on real life experiences, like they grew up with those sorts of people and grew up in those sorts of places, it’s all real, that’s why I love it . You stick to what you know, that’s what makes comedy so great. My favourite episodes have to be Oven Space, King Of The Nerds, Steam Fair, The Scarecrow Festival, Kurtan’s Half Brother, Mandy, Peeping Tom and many more . Mandy is demented, isn’t she, she is a phycho . The inspiration for Mandy’s character is also really clever, I liked that a lot . We never got to see Uncle Nugget, haha, cause he pulled out a samurai sword in Tesco Metro, but we have to remember that he was only having a laugh, he was only having a laugh, haha, Justice For Uncle Nugget, haha . This Country always puts a smile on my face, it always makes me laugh . There’s some really sad bits in this show, like the part where Kurtan was talking about how they were poor and they had no money, that was actually real, they struggled with money in real life, that’s awful, I honestly don’t know how both of them made it through such a tough time like that, they are amazing . Both of them are such an inspiration to me, they had a tough time trying to get This Country out there, but they kept going and going and going, until they got to where they wanted to be . I wish nothing but happiness for them two, they’ve come such a long way . The Vicar is one of my favourite characters from this show. He’s the normal one but he’s also a bit mad, Kurtan and Kerry’s just driving him crazy and he’s just slowly going mad . The Vicar is absolutely brilliant . All the characters are brilliant, but I think the vicar is great . This Country is my comfort show, whenever I’m feeling down, I just put on an episode of This Country and I just start laughing . I could easily watch 10 episodes of This Country in one go, without fail, it’s so good . British Humor is just superior, you can’t beat it . Kerry’s mum is bloody brilliant. You don’t see her but you can hear her somewhere in the back round. She is super funny, she had some really hilarious moments . Daisy May Cooper does the voice for her mum, Daisy May Cooper is a woman of many talents, I love her so much .

I have Daisy May Cooper’s biography, it’s called Don’t Laugh, It Will Only Encourage Her . My parents got it for me for Christmas. I absolutely love it, there are some really funny stories in it, plus some really sad stories, it just tells you about her life growing up. You go on a journey with her, so many ups and downs, and you sort of see her get to where she wanted to be. The book was so well written, the stories are brilliant, I was laughing a lot . She’s so funny and how she says things is just fantastic . I ended up reading the book five times, that’s how great it was, it was such a joy to read . I did a book post on my blog talking about this so if you haven’t already seen it, check it out. Daisy May Cooper deserves as much success and happiness as possible, she’s been through so much, I wish her nothing but the best in the future .

This Country will always be one of my favourite TV shows . The characters are brilliant, it’s so funny, they just went all out on this, they really did . The episode where Mandy goes to Book Club is absolutely hilarious, her stories are so funny, you could just see that the Vicar was trying so hard not to laugh during those scenes . The Rob Robinson episode is great as well, it’s the one where Kurtan fixates over an old mate from school . That’s one of me and dad’s favourite episodes . Kerry and Kurtan are unbelievably thick, like they just don’t know where they are, you actually come across people like that in those sorts of places . The Vicar’s Son is another one of my favourite episodes . Series 1 was great, series 2 was brilliant, as well as series 3, they are all amazing . Kurtan is one of my favourite characters, he’s great, he’s a bit stuck up though. Why does he look like Gareth from The Office, haha, they look so identical . I think I’m not the only one who thinks this. I also brought the This Country book. I read it a few times, it’s really good . There’s some really hilarious stuff in there, it’s worth the read, if you’re a big fan of This Country like I am, then I totally recommend you get the book, it’s amazing . I can go on about This Country forever, but I think I should move on with the post . But let me know if you want me to talk more about This Country, I’ll do a post on that .

People Just Do Nothing is another one of my favourite TV shows . People Just Do Nothing is just brilliant . If you don’t know what it’s about, basically, it’s about these guys who own a local pirate radio station called Kurupt FM . This show is just genius . The characters are brilliant, the writing is great, it’s so funny, it’s just amazing . I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking ” What is this ?, who are these geezers ?, what are they doing ?”, and I thought it was crap, but when we watched it, I was obsessed with it . It’s so funny . My favourite episodes are, Secret Location, The Wedding, The Godfather, Angel’s Birthday, Competition, The Website, Car Boot, The Music Video and many more . This show just looks so real, like the characters are so well done . It’s crazy how Kurupt FM is actually real, they make music together, which I think is so cool. They have talent and they’re so good at what they do, it’s not like they do it for the programme, it’s in real life as well, so that’s pretty cool . The characters are brilliant. Grindah is great, Chabuddy is brilliant, Steves is one of my favourite characters from the show, his mind is completely gone from smoking weed but his heart is in the right place . Miche is so thick, she’s unbeliebably thick, and you actually come across those sorts of people, that’s the scariest thing about it . People Just Do Nothing is a kind of show that no matter how many times you watch it, you won’t get tired of it . Me, my dad and my brother have watched all the episodes from start to finish, all over and over again and it’s still amazing . The characters just make the show . Who ever thought of the character Chabuddy is an absolute genius . I don’t even think any of the actors are acting, I can just tell that some of them are already like that in real life, that they don’t even need to act.

One of my favourite scenes from the episode, The Website is the bit where everyone in Kurupt FM lets Chabudds do his own radio set . That scene is so funny. When he starts playing like Bollywood music and he’s dancing and you could just see everyone just done with everything, Deacoy is just trying so hard not to laugh, whilst Grindah is thinking ” What is this shit ?”, it’s so hilarious, that scene is so funny . And the bit where Grindah and Beats have to go and do some wedding, then Deacoy comes back home, then you could just see Steves and Chabudds just jumping everywhere and just totally out of their minds whilst that gabba music is playing in the back round, that bit’s even funnier, especially because you’re just not expecting it, makes it 10 times better . It’s such a good touch . The last episode made me so emotional, it was such a great way to end the series . Following up to the film, seeing all of them just moving on, they all have jobs, Grindah’s working at the post office, delivering letters to people’s houses as a post man, Beats is working at a bowling alley and his son is his manager, haha, that bit was so funny . Cause you’re expecting Beats to be his manager but Craig is his dad’s manager instead, it’s just brilliant  . The film was great. If you don’t know what it’s called, it’s called Big In Japan . If you’re a big fan of People Just Do Nothing like I am, I totally recommend you to watch it, cause it’s so good, it’s super funny . Another thing that I loved in the show is Chabuddy’s relationship with Aldona . That was so funny . Especially cause she just kept running away then coming back, Aldona, what a parasite, haha. I need to get an update on what Aldona is doing and if they’re still seeing each other, haha, I doubt it . Chabuddy and Aldona’s relationship was a great touch to the show . The characters in this programme are so brilliant . It’s really funny . It just looks like a real documentary . Me and my family are big fans of this show . It’s just so amazing . At some point, I’m gonna have to go back and watch all of them again, from start to finish, it’s so good . I think this is the sort of British Humor that not everyone would understand and find funny. You would have to grow up in those sorts of places to get this sort of humor . Deacoy is probably one of the most normal ones out of all of them . He’s just normal and he’s really nice and easy going . Meanwhile, he’s just thinking ” Why am I friends with these idiots ?”, like he’s just losing his will to live, it’s so funny . The bits where they just stare at the camera are the funniest, cause you could just see it in their eyes, that they are just done with life, haha. People Just Do Nothing is such a genius show . I love how all the cast members just write their own lines and stuff, like Asim Chaudry, the guy that plays Chabuddy, you can tell that he writes half of it up, you would have to be mad enough to come up with all that stuff, it’s just brilliant . Me and my brother just quote half of the quotes and lines in our day to day lives . The actors and actresses who are in this show are so talented and so amazing, I wish them nothing but the best . I really wanna see them act in more films and TV shows, I wish them nothing but success, cause they all deserve it, they’ve all done so well . People Just Do Nothing was such a joy to watch . It’s so funny and so well written . I hope it gets another series, they were discussing on doing a 6th series, I hope the rumors were true, but if it’s not, then it’s alright, but I really hope we get another series . It’s one of my all time favourite shows . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

The Thick Of It is another one of my all time favourite TV shows . The Thick Of It is a show about politics, it just follows the every day lives of people who work in the government and parliament . This show is so funny . It’s so real as well, especially with everything that’s going on in politics today, it’s accurate as ever . Everyone just hates each other . I wouldn’t be surprised if that sort of thing actually happens behind closed doors . Everyone in the show just presents every single person in the government . I think all the actors and actresses just got it completely spot on. Malcom Tucker is demented . Just some mad Scottish man. Just swears all the time . He has the best cusses. ” Hey, Yoko Ono and the two remaining Beatles, piss off ”, is one of my all time favourite Malcom Tucker quotes . Malcom Tucker is supposed to be one of the spin doctors . This programme is so hilarious, I totally forgot how funny it was . I love how most of it wasn’t even scripted, it was improvised by some of the cast members . You would have be mad enough to dream up half of those quotes, absolutely genius . Peter Capaldi is such a good actor . I feel like he only plays demented characters . Well, he played Bumble in The Personal History Of David Copperfield, that was pretty much the only normal character he’s ever played . He was also in Doctor Who, he was the twelfth doctor . His character in The Thick Of It is so different compared to his character in Doctor Who, it’s like the same thing, they’re both mad . My sister introduced me to this show a few years ago and we put on the very first episode and from then on, I was obsessed with it . It’s so well written, the characters are just brilliant, some of them are total gits . Parliament and the government are full of gits, some of them are fine and some of them are gits, that’s just how it is . I have so many favourite episodes . I can’t choose a favourite, since all of them are really good . They also made a film. It’s called In The Loop. In The Loop is such a good film . All the original cast is in it. It’s weird though, cause like, it’s a contrast of everyone from The Thick Of It, mixed with a bunch of Americans, like the generals and stuff like that . I think it was good how they did it . It was really funny . Another thing that I found quite strange, was that half the characters all had different names, like Ollie had a different name, stuff like that . This show had many demented and mad characters . They all had some really funny moments . Steve Flemming was demented and highly strung, his performance was absolutely terrifying . The actor who played him was brilliant . Steve can go from calm to really demented and look like he’s gonna punch someone in the face, it can go from 0 to 100 real quick . This show has so many iconic lines and quotes . So many great actors and actresses . Adam and Fergus is one of my all time favourite character duos from this show . They had so many funny moments . Seeing Ben Willbond swear was very unusual to me. I pretty much grew up with Horrible Histories and seeing him swear was shocking . But actors can just do what they want, they do other things other then just a kids show . So some people who grew up seeing Ben in Horrible Histories and it being very PG, they’re like ” Oh my god, Ben just swore, my childhood is doomed ”, but I’m not gonna be like that because I’m just used to seeing actors do their thing, at least they didn’t put anything like that in Horrible Histories so it’s all good . I just love this show so much . It’s just too accurate. Especially with everything that’s going on in politics today, it’s just pure satire . I totally recommend you watch this show cause it’s so funny .

Stath Lets Flats is another one of my all time favourite TV shows . Stath Lets Flats is a show about these letting agents . It follows this character and his name is Stath and he is a Greek letting agent . I just love this show, it’s so funny . It’s so cringy and very painful to watch but it’s so good . Stath is just a very awkward person . I remember seeing the show when it first aired . I remember seeing it and thinking ” What is this ?, it looks like shit ”, but then we watched more of it and that was when I fell in love with it . I loved the first season, I also loved series 2 and the last season, all of them are just brilliant . Stath’s sister is just brilliant, she’s so thick and dumb but she’s just great . Some great acting there from Natasia Dementriou, who is actually Jamie Dementriou’s real life sister as well, I guess the talent just runs in the family .This series has so many brilliant moments, great characters . It was just so well thought out . One of my favourite scenes from series 3 is the one from the last episode and it’s the one where they find a tape that they made in the family and then they put it on and then it just shows Stath coming in with a wig and he had long hair . That bit was hilarious . I was so sad when it ended, but I’m so happy that I can go back and watch all of them again . My favourite characters are Stath, Sophie, Dean and Al, those characters are just brilliant . Dean is just brilliant, he’s just constantly done with everyone’s shit, he’s so funny and so relatable . One of my favourite Dean moments is when he he turns up at American Lets company and chucks rice and then he realizes that it’s the wrong place and he just drives off, that scene is hilarious . Pretty much any scene with Dean is gonna be iconic and really funny . Al is another one of my favourite characters . He’s probably one of the most normal ones out of all of them, I really liked him and Sophie’s relationship, I thought it was adorable . They were really good friends . This show has so many iconic quotes, I quote them sometimes . I’m so glad this show one an award, or at least Jamie won an award, it’s so well deserved . I’m kind of vexxed that Natasia didn’t win anything, but I’m so happy that Jamie won something because he was great in this show . I’m so glad that I discovered this show, cause it’s just so good, one of the best British comedy shows ever made, that’s for sure . I could talk about this show forever but this segment is gonna be so long so I’ll just leave it here, but yeah, I totally recommend you to watch this show, cause it’s so funny, it’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a show, great characters, funny storylines, funny scenes, hilarious montages, everything, it’s just amazing . Another thing I loved was Sophie and Kesha’s music and film stuff . Those things were so cringy, every time they sang, basically, but I just loved it . There was an episode in the last series where Sophie and her friend made this film and it was so bad, I honestly had no idea what that was, it was so terrible but it was so funny, I just couldn’t stop laughing, absolutely brilliant . Stath Let’s Flats was such a joy to watch, it filled us with joy . It’s so sad that we’re not getting any more seasons . This show was great .

Ghosts is another one of my all time favourite TV shows . Ghosts is just incredible . If anyone hasn’t seen it or if they’re new to the show, basically, it’s about this couple who move into this house and they settle in, but there’s only one problem, the house is infested with ghosts . Ghosts is such an amazing show. It’s full of memorable quotes, funny scenes. It’s also very emotional. I cried a few times whilst watching the show. The show does a good job of tugging on your heartstrings . It’s such a heartwarming show . I love all the characters. I love Horrible Histories, I practically grew up with the show and it’s cast . It’s the same cast. They’re all so amazing . They are great actors and actresses. I really love their on and off set chemistry . They have so much fun working together which is just so nice to see . The show was just a 100 % TV magic . I’ve grown so close to Thomas, I just really love him . All the characters are amazing . It’s so well written . It made me love the cast of Horrible Histories even more  . It’s nice to see them doing more stuff .

By the time the show ended, My heart felt a bit empty . It felt just like all the ghosts were my friends and family . The show does a really good job of making you like the characters . This show’s just so ridiculous and so funny, but it can also be really sad too . In every episode of season 2 and season 3, you begin to find out how they all died and it’s just so emotional and so beautiful how they did it . This show was just absolutely perfect . One of the best shows to ever come out of the BBC in such a long time . I’m definetely going to watch them all over again . It’s just been such a joy to watch . I really do hope they make a series 4, if they do, then it’s gonna make my year even better . If you haven’t already seen it, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

The IT Crowd is another one of my favourite TV shows . The IT Crowd is absolutely brilliant . Graham Linehan is an absolute genius . The running gags in that show, por, they’re bloody brilliant . It’s one of the best shows to ever come out in the 2000s . If you’re not familiar with the show, basically, The IT Crowd is about these layabouts who work in an IT department. Their names are Moss, Roy And Jen . They don’t really do any work, they just slack off and do absolutely nothing with their time . I absolutely love The IT Crowd, like it’s so funny . I love the characters . Moss and Jen are my favourite characters . Roy is brilliant as well but he’s kind of an idiot . Jen is kind of normal but she’s  a bit mad as well, Moss is a nerd .

This show has so many memorable moments . Like when they go to the Theatre and Roy gets stuck in a disabled toilets and he gets mistaken for being disabled and just makes a whole scene out of it . That scene was hilarious . Just the look on Jen’s face when she turns around and sees Roy in the wheel chair, absolutely brilliant . There’s also another thing that happened in the same episode . That episode is called The Work Outing . The Work Outing has to be one of my most favourite episodes . Soley because it’s just full of chaos, mad things happen one after the other, things don’t exactly go to plan . The Gay musical thing is brilliant as well. Just all those scenes where they’re in the theatre watching the musical. That’s like the worst musical ever made . When they first look at the poster and Moss says ” Oh no, it’s set in the 80s ”, that was so funny  . I was like ” Moss, what do you expect, it takes place in the past, it has nothing to do with the present ”, haha . Moss is just classic . Such a great sitcom.

Outnumbered is another one of my favourite British Sitcoms . It’s just so funny. You just follow the lives of this very chaotic, nightmarish family. This show has so many memorable moments. Karen is my favourite character, I love her, she’s so funny, like her comedic timing is perfect, always comes in with a hilarious line . I discovered this show a few years ago and I just completely fell in love with it, such a good show, really made me laugh so many times, it’s definetely up there with all the rest of my favourite TV shows .

The Office is another one of my favourite TV shows . I just really love this show. I know that there’s an American version as well and honestly, I love the American one as well but the original will always be better, but there’s no competition there, both versions are really good in their own ways . I think I came across this show and I completely fell in love with it. I finished the first series within a week and I just loved it so I’m going to start watching the second series very soon. Ricky Gervais as David Brent is absolutely fantastic, David Brent is absolutely nuts, he has no filter and I love it. You know you’re in trouble whenever you see David pull out his guitar, haha, brilliant. But yeah no, I love The Office, such a good show. And it’s a different type of humour, so not everyone’s going to understand it, I think that’s what makes it good.

The Wrong Mans is another one of my favourite TV shows. Oh my god, this show is absolutely amazing, it’s so chaotic, I love it. I feel like Sam was just miserable in his job in the council and I feel like getting sucked into this thing was the only exciting thing in his life, cause it is exciting but at the same time it’s also really dangerous . Sam and Phil’s chemistry is fantastic. And also, Matthew Baynton is in this, I love him, he was great in this show but also James Corden was great as well, they were both great.  This show is so short, there’s only like six episodes and each is only like 20 minutes long but the journey you go on, it’s amazing. It’s so funny as well, just a well written show . I’m so glad I discovered this show and I got my family hooked on this show. I kind of have the job of finding shows, watching them and if I love them then I introduce them to my family. It’s also the same with You Me and The Apocolypse as well. The Wrong Mans is so underrated, such a hidden gem for sure. If you love chaos and crime and comedy then this show is for you, it’s absolutely amazing .

Inside no 9 is another one of my favourite shows. I just love Inside No 9, like I can’t get enough of this show. I love all the stories, I find them so interesting, every episode is written so well. Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are comedy geniuses . I watched the first episode of season 1 and I really loved it. I finished the first series within a week and now I’m on series 4. I’m having so much fun with this show, it’s so demented and weird, I love it. My all time favourite episode is The Twelve Days Of Christine, that episode shattered me in hundreds of pieces, so beautiful. There are no dry eyes whenever I watch that episode, so beautifully written. I just love how this show is so unexpected and unpredictable and the twist, it hits you when you’re not expecting it at all. So awesome, I just love Inside no 9. I love the mix of dark comedy and drama. Maybe it’s time I introduced my family to this show. I also love some of their other shows like League Of Gentlemen and Psychoville, they’re so creative with their writing and their ideas, I find their work so inspiring . If any of you like dark comedy, you’ll love this.

Derek is another one of my favourite shows. Derek is a show I started watching a few weeks ago and I completely fell in love with it. Love the characters, everything about this show is amazing. Ricky Gervais completely nails the drama and comedy in his shows. This show me laugh, this show made me cry, I just love this so much . I recently finished watching Afterlife and I really loved it so I decided to give Derek a go and I came away from this show, absolutely blown away by it. This is my go to show if I need a good cry. You’ll be laughing one minute and then you’ll be crying the next, absolute hidden gem. Everyone needs to watch this at least once. Karl’s character is so funny, he’s just given up on life. But yeah, I love this show, I’m on series 2 now.

Phone Shop is another one of my favourite TV shows. It’s just so so funny, the characters are great. It’s just these layabouts who work in a phone shop. I’m so glad I discovered this show, it’s an absolute gem. Ashley and Jermaine are my favourite characters but Christopher, Lance and Janine are brilliant as well. Those characters are what makes this series so amazing . Every episode just makes me laugh to the point where my stomach hurts. Such a great concept for a show. I totally recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a new show to binge watch.

We Are Lady Parts is another one of my favourite shows. This show is just incredible. We Are Lady Parts is a comedy series about this Muslim female punk band. This show came out on Channel 4 a little while ago and I had no idea what this show even was. I finished this series a few weeks ago and I completely fell in love with it. The characters are amazing, it’s funny, it’s emotional, it’s touching, it’s just absolutely awesome . Just everyone in this band is a complete nutter but they have a very vunerable side to them and that’s why I love it. This was a great six part series. I also love it because it’s music themed, it reminds me of Spinal Tap a little bit. It’s a really good concept for a show too. This is like nothing we’ve seen before. You just go on a journey with these amazing girls . And I love punk music as well so that added on to my love of this show. I totally recommend this show to everyone, I had so much fun watching this show. And the music is great too, all the songs were great. So yeah, We Are Lady Parts is fantastic. Can’t wait for Season 2.

I have so many more favourite shows but I feel that if I keep talking then I’ll just be rambling on and on and on, so thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. If you haven’t already seen these shows, I totally recommend them. I have so many favourite TV shows and the list goes on forever, but these are some of my favourites . I think that one day I might write a post, talking about my favourite shows from the 70s and 80s, since I have so many. Let me know if you these too. I hope you have a wonderful day, love you guys

Hayley’s Demented Hand Written Complaints To The Hackney Council

Hayley’s Hackney Council complaints

{Warning, some of these may contain strong language and adult humor}

Hayley

Hi there, this is Hayley speaking. Chances are, you might not know me, but you should bloody know me, we spoke last week. I’m informing you on this issue. We have these bloody neighbors, they stink, they’re ungrateful, I don’t want them anywhere near my house. I think they bring bad omens. Please do something about it, it’s driving me up the wall.

The council’s response

Hi there, I’m very sorry to say but I’m afraid, we can’t do anything about it, I’m afraid we only deal with emergencies and this is not an emergency.

Hayley’s response

Oh piss off, not an emergency?. Can I tell you what is an emergency?, your life. Your life is a bloody emergency. When disaster strikes, I’m not going to call an ambulance, I’m going to call the bloody police instead. It’s a problem no doctor can solve, oh no, they’re going to want the heck out of there.

Some more of her complaints

. Hi there, I can’t get out of my house, bloody Daisy has done a fucking huge shite outside my doorstep, who the hell put that there?.

. I’m going to lose my mind in a minute. Daisy’s left her dust bin outside my house and now it’s jamming the door, she better watch out otherwise she’s gonna be the one who’s in there, fucking daft cow.

. These bloody neighbours, man they stink. Please get them evicted. I’m thinking of getting married and having kids soon and I don’t want fucking Jack hiding in the bushes .

. I’ve kept in touch with The Hackney Council for months and months now and there’s been fuck all, where is everybody. They’re too busy with their heads up their asses and they’re bloody witches fingers. If no one gets on the phone now, I’m gonna make sure I make my way down there and I’m going to smear shite all over the walls and I’m gonna make a complaint, followed by another complaint saying that they need to clean it before mould starts appearing on the walls, those cunts !!!! .

Pepsi And Shirlie, It’s All In Black And White

Okay so a little while ago, I read a book which is called Pepsi and Shirlie, It’s All In Black And White. Pepsi and Shirlie were Wham’s back up dancers. They both wrote a book together, talking about the revelation of Wham and their experiences. After they left Wham, they became a pop duo called Pepsi And Shirlie. I was completely blown away by this book, I thought it was absolutely amazing .

{ Trigger warning, there are some very disturbing and awful details to traumatic child hoods so if you’re sensative towards these kinds of things, I suggest you don’t read this part of the post}

I love that they took turns talking about their experiences, I thought that was really cool. In this book, they talk about their childhoods and their upbringings. They both had quite tough and traumatic childhoods to say the least, I had no idea they had it hard. Pepsi grew up in a rough household, her mum was caring and gentle and she was trying to provide for her family as a mother and her dad was an alcoholic and he would go out, drinking and sometimes he wouldn’t come home. If there was ever a reason why he wouldn’t return home then usually it would be a really bad thing . He would get drunk and then he would shout and get really aggressive, when things got a bit too much, it would really weigh in on both of them. And then, one day, their worlds turned upside down when her dad got stabbed by a Teddy Boy whilst he was back from a night out at the pub. The Teddy Boys were a gang that would hang around on the streets during the 60s and the 80s. They’re really quite nasty and at the time, there was all this speculation about whether or not they’re racist and they weren’t racist but they were dangerous . So after that, they didn’t want him going out all by himself just in case it would happen again and maybe next time, he might not come back alive, so they didn’t want to chance anything . So there was a lot of uncertainty and fear. It was indeed a racist attack and you know, back in those days, racism was on the rise and there was a lot of hate crime, you could literally go outside and walk the streets and someone would attack you just for your skin colour or any other reason so it was quite pungent back then . I had no idea about this story, it’s absolutely horrible, must have been frightening. No one should have to go through that. Pepsi had such a hard child hood but she’s just absolutely amazing, to go through all that and still be strong and fabulous, respect .

Shirlie’s child hood was also quite difficult . She talks about her experiences with having meningitis at a young age, that must have been scary, Meningitis is a horrible disease, she’s lucky to be alive since many don’t make it. She also had anxiety when she was younger. I had no idea about all this, this book was so eye opening, they really went through so much, it makes me respect these young ladies even more, cheering everyone up and inspiring young girls with their music whilst they also dealt with some hard ships in their lives.

It’s quite ironic because my recent book post was about Wham and Pepsi and Shirlie are the back up dancers . We don’t really see much of them since they’re mostly in the back round dancing and singing along with George and Andrew. These girls are just amazing, such an inspiration. Their friendship is untouchable.  When times got tough, Pepsi was always on hand to cheer Shirlie up and make her laugh, we all need a Pepsi in our lives . She couldn’t get through it on her own. This is why I don’t agree in all that independent woman crap.  It works for some people but not everyone. We all need someone in our lives to help us get through certain moments. Shirlie could never have done all this alone, I think that Pepsi joining her in certain events in her life made it a lot more enjoyable, they were great friends and they spent all those years just lifting each other up and supporting each other.

In this book, they obviously go into Wham since they were the back up dancers. It talks about when Shirlie met Pepsi for the first time on her way to an audition and they bonded over the same things, they both liked Shirie Bassey hence that’s where Shirlie got her name from. Yeah, this book was amazing, I really enjoyed reading about their beautiful friendship.

I think I also loved it because it’s the 80s. The 80s was a very interesting decade, especially for music and film. I just love reading about all this, it’s so fascinating . They also talk about when they both left Wham to become a duo when it was obvious that George Michael was going to become a solo artist. I liked reading about all that as well.

Yeah I mean, I don’t want to give too much away because if you any interest in this kind of topic, I suggest that you read it yourself so I’m just going to keep it nice and short. But yeah, I really loved this book, it was a real page turner and when it ended, I really wanted to read it again, just a really beautifully crafted book about their wonderful friendship and navigating your life whilst being in the public eye. For those of you who are Wham / Pepsi And Shirlie fans, I totally recommend this book, you’re going to have so much fun reading this. It feels like you’re going on a journey with these incredible talented young ladies, I loved this so much.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you all have a lovely day, love you guys.

Things I’m Obsessed With, Being A Fan Girl, New TV Obsessions

Hi guys, hope you’re all doing well. As you all know, I’m a fan girl. I obsess over so many things, whether it’s a type of music, band, singer, TV show, film or an actor . I’m quite open about this. I’m not insane about this, I’m not like one of those mad fan girls that just obsess over someone or something and waste my life, obsessing and trying to get every little piece of information I can about something. I can’t stand people who do that. I have self control, I know when to stop, it’s only minor things as well, loving and respecting someone’s work is okay but when you’re life evolves around just that then that’s when it becomes unhealthy . I love David Tennant and I respect him and I love his work but I don’t picture myself sleeping with him, like my god, that’s a bit over the top. Man’s got a wife and kids, I respect that. Plus I’m 15 so that’s incest, anyway, I love him, he’s my favourite actor and I respect him for staying so humble, I wish him the very best in his career, I’m looking forward to what he comes out with next. would love to meet him one day. He inspires me so much, even though I’m not looking to become an actor or an actress but he still inspires me every day. I’m so looking forward to seeing him come back in Doctor Who, I love his doctor so much. I’ve always been a fan girl, I’m a bit of a geek nerd, I love to love things so when I’m in, I’m fully in and there’s nothing stopping me from loving something. I think we all have a little bit of a fan girl in us.

Anyway enough of that. This is a post of my new obsessions. It’s been a while you’ve seen actual posts on the blog, apart from scripts and book posts. A lot has changed since you’ve last seen me. I’ve been watching some new TV shows, some new films and I think it’s time I finally shared them with you. So here they are, these are the shows that I really love, that I don’t think you know I like.

My favourite dramas

My favourite true crime / true story dramas { Because I’m a true crime fanatic} { I’m also fascinated in the mafia and the mob, since my brother and my dad are mafia fanatics}

My new favourite shows that I love or that I’m obsessed with { Comedies}

some more of my favourite comedy TV shows { Mostly British sitcoms}

favourite American TV shows

My new favourite films that I’ve seen recently

Two of my favourite favourite things in the world

new groups I’ve been listening to lately { some indie and 90s music}

Okay guys, that’s all I have for today, thank you so much for reading my post, I hope you liked it. I was going to say what I think about all these TV shows and films but I’ve got so much to say and by the time I’m finished, I’m just going to be rambling on and on and on but I uploaded some photos of what they look like so that you can get an idea of all my new TV favourites and obsessions and all the things I’ve really enjoyed watching lately . It’s been a while since I did a post about all the things I like and since then, I’ve been watching so much more. Let me know if any of you like any of these shows and films that I’ve mentioned in this post. I don’t really watch a lot of TV these days because most of the shows that come out these days are shite, they’ve really lost the plot nowadays with TV and film, just running out of ideas so I don’t really watch any new shows, I like watching other older British sitcoms, if you know what I mean. No offence if you like this new stuff on TV, everyone has different taste, but me personally, I’m not a big fan. I just think it’s good that you’re spoilt for choice, you don’t have to watch this stuff if you don’t want to, you can just switch off which is what a lot of people are doing nowadays since they’re done with the so called agendas they’re pushing down our throats. I just want good entertainment, people want good entertainment, they don’t want to be lectured with all this bullshit . But anyways, I’ve had so much fun watching true crime dramas, I love a good true crime drama. Especially the ones that come out on ITV and BBC. However, there’s one I’m not a fan of, it’s the BBC drama called The Gold. It’s the one about these East End gangsters who did a bank robbery in the early 80s. I really don’t bloody know who did the casting for this show but they need to be sacked from their job. The actor they got to play Kenny Noye is an absolute pisser . That geezer looks so posh, nothing like the real Kenny Noye. If you see pictures of the real geezer, he looks like he’s going to bloody throttle someone, absolute rough neck. They really got the wrong geezer to play him. I’m sorry but that geezer looks like he’s from Oxford or something. If you told the real Kenny Noye anything about Oxford, he would bloody knock you two feet deep into the ground, absolute travesty . I haven’t watched the whole series properly but watching the first episode, just looking at the cast, I was just like ” Forget it ”. What’s the point of a true crime drama if you can’t find anyone who actually looks like the character . And that woman detective, she thinks she’s going to solve the big case, god blimey . Maybe the drama on it’s own is okay but the fact that they chose the wrong actors for this series just puts me off a little bit. It really bothered my dad and my family, since my dad grew up during that time and actually remembers hearing about this. It’s a mad story but they didn’t execute it well enough . I think it just depends who’s behind it and whether they did proper research or not because all the true crime dramas I’ve seen are amazing, it’s just that this one flopped . At least get the proper actors for it. Surely there are hundreds of actors who live round here who have real cockney accents. These geezers look so soft compared to the real East End Gangsters, I just think they should have done it a bit better . Rant over, haha. Surely I’m not the only one who feels this way about this series . No offence to the actors who were involved, I think they’re okay but they don’t suit these roles. The actor who plays Kenny Noye looks nothing like the real geezer, the real geezer looks terrifying compared to the actor, it’s just his face that bothers me, he looks like a posh pretty boy shitter in this series, my dad said this straight away as soon as he came on screen and I agree. At least get someone who can act, for goodness sake. But yeah no, I love true crime dramas.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. Sorry for my rant, I just went off on one. These things really annoy me sometimes. The actor doesn’t have to look exactly like the real thing but at least get someone who looks the part, they should have got some tough old geezer to play the role, that would have been so much better then this fucking monstrosity. { Sorry for swearing} . But anyway you know, so far, this is the only true crime drama that did this for me. Everyone’s going to see that and think that the real East End Gangsters who were involved in this story looked like posh geezers that’s just what happens when some people assume they can tell real stories and then they don’t bloody know how to. If you don’t believe me, go and watch it yourself, you’ll see what I mean. But anyway, I hope you all have a lovely day, these can also be recommendations so I do recommend you watch either of these shows I just mentioned, because they’re amazing and stay tuned for other blog posts here on Big Blog Theory.

Wham! George And Me

Okay so a few months ago, I read a book called Wham! George And Me, which is written by Andrew Ridgeley. This is basically the book that Andrew Ridgeley wrote a while back where he talks about his time with George Michael. They go way back, they were friends from school. With George being the new kid, he was really shy and he didn’t have any friends and he just felt like a fish out of the water and I think Andrew went up to him and from there on in, they were good friends. They had the same interests and they bonded over music and comedy. This book was absolutely amazing .

He just talks about the times they shared together and when they formed Wham. Originally, Andrew was the one who wanted to form a band with George, George wasn’t in the slightest bit interested, he wanted to focus on school work and his exams and Andrew was just like ” Come on man, we need to make music together ” but then George was like ” Not now, later ” like he was just so done with Andrew’s shit . I think the more time they spent with each other, the more Andrew realised George’s musical talent . Like there a bit in the book in where George invited Andrew over to his house for a sleepover, he noticed that he had a drum kit in his bed room and he was like ” Oh my god, you have a drum kit, this is so cool, no one has a drum kit in our school ” and then he tried to play with it but then George flipped and he was like ” No, don’t you bloody touch it ” That was his reaction because that was the rule of his house hold, I think his dad was Greek and his mum was English. He also had a bit of trouble at his school, on his first day, the teacher kept getting his name wrong, he has a Greek name and she kept pronouncing it wrong so by the end of it, he was like ” You know what, don’t worry about it, just call me George ”. That’s so relatable. When I was at school, some teachers got my name wrong, they called me Christine, so I was like ” Fuck this, I’m going to have to deal with this for ten years. Just call me Christina like it’s not that hard, I’m a follower of Christ for god sake . So yeah, that was relatable, I feel like the other kids had it worse though.

But yeah, this book was just so fun to read, so beautifully written, the stories are funny and interesting, this book also has loads of pictures so it’s cool to see certain scenarios caught on camera . George was an amazing talent, it’s so sad to see that the media was fascinated in his sexuality other then his incredible talent. Just like him for his amazing talent, like him for what he brought to the music indestury, why are they so obsessed with his sexuality. Why are they acting like his sexuality is his whole entire personality, because it’s not. Sexuality is such a small part of someone’s personality, surely that wasn’t his whole personality it’s just so baffling . That’s his private life, they don’t have a right to expose his life to the world. George Michael was an absolute gem and we’re not going to get another legend like him any time soon. His voice, his song writing, just everything about him is incredible, the media should be ashamed of themselves for what happened to him, Sexuality is no one’s business, I don’t even know why that’s a thing. Surely, the personality is more important then sexual preference. Like, I don’t give a shit who you sleep with, that’s not my business, as long as you’re a decent person, nothing else matters .

I remember there was this whole thing about him and then he was arrested for flashing himself or something. Like what on earth was he doing? what the hell was he doing in the bloody toilets? he was just doing all this stupidness. Like what if a child walked in and saw him with his pants down, masterbating like it’s so inappropriate of him. I understand that he was stressed at the time but we’re all stressed, but we don’t do shit like that, you know what I mean?. I feel like if there were people with him, they would tell him to not do stuff like that but I don’t there was. I just think that fame really did him in. If he was with someone at the time, why would he do that? I just don’t get it. But that whole thing about him being hounded by the press about his sexuality is just down right nasty. I feel like that’s what Journalists are known for, they don’t give a toss about people’s lives they just want to sell the papers. Anything sells, make up the worst news headline and bam, it’s sells, they’re laughing all the way to the bank, it’s disgraceful.

But yeah, this book was amazing. So many interesting stories. My dad is the one who introduced all this amazing 80s stuff to me so every 80s reference I see in the book, I know what it is. I think that one of my favourite things about myself is that I’m obsessed with 80s pop culture, whether it’s Music, 80s bands, 80s singers, film and TV, I’m all for it. I’m a creative kind so I love learning about this stuff in the free time. I think that’s one thing I’m very thankful for. My parents let me learn what I want to learn and they know all the good and interesting things to introduce to me, they let me be creative, I feel like not everyone has that, so I’m so grateful for everything I have . But yeah, I just love reading and studying about music and film .

George and Andrew were so close, they did everything together, their chemistry is everything. I’m so obsessed with Wham, I’ve always loved them, I’m always dancing and jamming out to their music in my bed room. I’ve got such a big crush on Andrew, he was so cute. Their music was so fun, it was like good, happy vibes. On my way to The Hackney Empire, when I was taking part in the course, I used to always listen to their music and dance in the street, I just loved it. Wham is one of my favourite pop groups from the 80s, their music is awesome .

This book was just absolutely incredible. Andrew explained it all so beautifully. It was great to get an insight from him, someone who actually knew him and not someone who’s making up all these fake stories about him just to create drama, it’s raw and it’s real. I’m recommending this book to my mum, she used to love Wham when she was younger and she had a crush on George Michael so she’s going to be the one who’s going to read it next . This book was amazing, it’s one of my favourite autobiographies, Andrew was a true true friend, he seemed like such a nice boy when he was younger and I think that George was so lucky to have Andrew in his life. I think from the moment they first met, that was the start of a beautiful friendship. I’d like to think that if George was still alive today, he would be so pleased with his friend’s book, he’s probably up there, laughing his head off, thinking ” haha, what are you bloody doing?”. I just really love it, so beautifully done. No one could have told this story better then Andrew, he was close friends with George and he’s just saying it from his point of view and I really loved that.

If there are any George Michael fans out there, I’d highly recommend you get this book. Half of this took me by surprise, I learnt so much . They talked a lot about the music scene, the early days of their music career, moments where they sneaked into the cinema to watch films that are rated over 18, because that’s just so typical, literally all youngsters did that or twice in the 70s and 80s, it’s just what they did and you’d be lucky if it goes to plan because if it doesn’t, then you’d end up getting chased out of the cinema with a stick. That’s one of my dad’s infamous demented stories, just shows how demented the 70s was. But yeah, this book had so many interesting and funny stories . He also talked about unemployment . Loads of people were unable to find jobs and they were on the dole, so many people were being made redundant . That was dreadful, there was a lot of poverty in the early 80s too. I feel like the unemployment side of things were awful but I do feel like they had freedom. You had freedom to do what you wanted, so if you wanted to form a band, write music then you could. Another example of that is a TV programme called Boys From The Black Stuff. It’s a drama from the 80s, it’s about unemployment during the uncaring Thatcher Days. It’s honestly my favourite, it’s such a great piece of television, just shows you how hard life was during those times. The book talks about all of that. It just talks about their long lasting friendship and it shows George Michael in a new light, it shows you who he really was, despite all the rumors that have been bandied around by the media.

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. I truly recommend this book, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever read. I hope you have a great day, love you all

Waxing On, The Karate Kid And Me

Okay so a few months ago, I read Ralph Macchio’s memoir, it’s called Waxing On, The Karate Kid And Me. This book talks about when he first got the role of iconic Daniel Larusso and how the film impacted a generation. I’ve always loved Ralph, I think he’s awesome, he was just one of those icons of the 80s. I have such a special place in my heart for The Karate Kid, it’s one of my favourite films, it’s just utter magic. And it’s even better now since we’ve got Cobra Kai, where he returns to the role of Daniel Larusso.

I just really loved reading this book, it was so interesting . Ralph is one of my favourite actors and I’ve just got a huge crush on his younger self, but I think you already know this since I’ve been talking about it on my blog loads of times . I’ve just got so much respect for him, he’s been in the indestury for so long and fame hasn’t gone to his head, he’s so humble, I take my hat off to him. I have so many favourite films of his, such as The Karate Kid, The Outsiders, Cross roads, My Cousin Vinny, Teachers and Up The Academy, he’s just in so many classics . Ralph was a gift from humanity . This book was a great read, I’ve learned so much from it. There are so many funny stories in it but there are also some touching stories, especially whenever he mentions Pat Morita. It was just such a beautifully crafted book.

I just think that The Karate Kid was just one of those films that will go down in cinema history. This film had a special place in everyone’s lives. Especially for some teenagers who experienced bullying when they were younger. They just really looked up to him and he was so overwelmed because of everyone’s love and support . This film just helped me so much, I wish I had something like this when I was in school, it just feels like a warm hug . He also talks about his auditioning process when he first auditioned for the role, which was a rocky process, especially for most actors, I found that really interesting and funny, I suggest you keep an eye out for that, it plays a big part in the film as well since it shows you how got there in the first place.

Yeah, I just really love this book, I’m so glad I read it. For these past few months, I’ve been feeding my interest with pop culture, where it’s film, TV or music, literally anyone I can find, I just love it so much, I’m such a book worm, love reading . This book is an absolute gem, for those of you like Ralph, I totally recommend this book, it’s a roller coaster of emotions .

Okay so thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you liked it. I hope you have a nice day, wherever you are right now. Love you guys
