In The City, Mocumentary Script, Jason’s Son

{First scene, Tucker is Standing outside}

Tucker} I have no idea on what’s gonna happen today, or what idea Jason comes up with next, it’s like the same thing every single today, you’ll soon realize that today will be the same as tomorrow and next week, and I’d do anything to change that, just getting bloody bored of it, just day in day out, doing the same thing, telling us to hand out leaflets to pensioners, and he knows full well that none of them are gonna any use of them, what a waste .

{Next scene, Everybody is in Jason’s office}

Delsin} Hoh god no .

Jason} What’s wrong, Delsin ?.

Delsin} Don’t ask me on what’s wrong, I was only born 5 hours ago .

Jason} Why are you acting like this ?.

Delsin} Hm let’s see, um, the box on my doorstep, maybe .

Jason} What box on your doorstep ?.

Delsin} Oh so you don’t know, how can you not bloody know, you have a neighbor cam all through midnight .

Jason} What are you talking about, I didn’t see any box .

Delsin} Ok well I’m not making the shit up, so why don’t you go outside, walk 2 miles and see for yourself, if you don’t believe me, why not take the unnessessary plunge .

Jason} What box was it ?.

Delsin} Oh, it was a big ass box, full of shit hanging out of it .

Jason} Right .

Delsin} Well, you better deal with it, otherwise I’m gonna attach a moldy apple to a boomerang and send it their way .

Tucker} Jason, why did you bring us here ?.

Jason} Well, I was gonna tell you actually, that my son is coming to visit .

Leroy} What, you have a son, no way, get out of it, you don’t have a son, do you ?.

Jason} I do, yeah .

Tucker} You never told us that you had a son .

Jason} No, I talk about him all of the time, what do you mean ?.

Delsin} Well, what’s he called then, Freddy ?.

Jason} No, who the hell is Freddy ?.

Delsin} I don’t know, it just comes to mind .

Tucker} Well, what is he called ?.

Jason} Um, he’s called James .

Tucker} Wow, James ay ?.

Leroy} I never actually knew that you were a father .

Jason} Yeah but I was .

Leroy} Yeah but, you don’t look like a father, you look like someone who has slept in a skip, and that you had a soap opera moment 10 times in your life .

Jason} No, that’s gone a bit too far .

Leroy} No it hasn’t .

Jason} Well, can anybody do me a favor and look after him, cause I won’t be here this afternoon .

Delsin} What, where are you going ?.

Jason} I have to just catch some meetings with other councillors, but if one of you can take care of that, then it’s sorted .

Tucker} Ok I probably won’t be able to do that, cause I’m going camping, but I’ll let him come with me if that’s alright with you .

Jason} Great, then that’s settled, well, I better get going, he might be coming by bus, so, keep an eye out for him .

Tucker} Right cool, see ya .

{Jason’s read}

” So yeah, my son, James, is coming to visit, he’s been living down in Essex, so, it would be an adventure for him, and I’m sure that Tucker will have a great time, getting to know him ” .

{Meanwhile, Delsin is hanging around outside a house}

Delsin} Ok so, this is my most favorite thing to do, ever, so, basically, I just knock on somebody’s door and play a note on a flute, and I do this every Thursday, and it’s such a laugh, watch and learn, { Then he knocks on the door} .

{ Then the person opens the door}

Person} Hello, what do you want from me ?.

{Then Delsin plays the flute}

Person} Oh get out, give me that . { Then she tries to snatch the flute away from him}

Delsin} Oh shit .

{ Then the person takes the flute and beats him with it}

{Then Delsin starts laughing} ” Ok I’m going, geez .

{ Meanwhile, Tucker is at the camp site}

Tucker} He should be here by now, him and his dad, bloody time wasters .

{ Then the son turns up}

Tucker} Oh, that should be him, I’m assuming, Jason never told me the details on what he looks like, how am I supposed to know ?, oh god, what is he wearing, they look like flares, nice clothing choice, I guess .

{ Then the son walks closer}

Tucker} Hello .

James} Oh hi, who are you ?.

Tucker} Oh um, Tucker, and you are James, I assume .

James} Yep, that’s right, my dad has told me lot’s about you .

Tucker} Really, has he ?.

James} Yeah, he tells me that you are a edgy person .

Tucker} Oh I see .

James} Yeah, oh wow, is this your set up ?.

Tucker} Yep, just thought I’d do some camping .

James} Cool cool, wow, that looks mad . { Then he points at the camping tent}

Tucker} Yeah, it’s a um, camping tent .

James} Oh right .

{ Meanwhile, Leroy is in his house}

Leroy} Yeah, I never knew that Jason had a son, not like it’s special and out of this world, he’s like, ” Ehh, that’s my son like ”, he’s so proud of it, I just don’t get it, deep down, he’s more weird then all of us .

{Meanwhile, Delsin is walking around}

Delsin} I have just made a strange discovery, why does the fence stand up right, that’s what I keep asking myself, it’s crazy, I don’t even believe it myself, some times I look at things like fences, and just think, you know, just on how insignificant that all is, and when you look it, you get butterflies in your stomach, facinating, I love fences .

{Meanwhile, Tucker is camping}

Tucker} So, how is it in Essex ?.

James} Um, yeah it’s alright, quite busy though .

Tucker} Yeah, is it like fast and all cars and buses zooming every where ?.

James} Yeah, exactly, it’s bloody mad down there .

Tucker} Yeah, do you have any stories of Jason, or like memories ?.

James} Yeah, so many, I don’t even know where to start .

Tucker} Oh really ?.

James} Yeah, ok so, I have this one memory where, me and my dad went to a  supermarket and he thought that it would be a good idea if he turned it into crystal maze, and so, he got a shopping trolley and pushed me in it, and it was absolute mayhem, and the shelves and crates were falling everywhere and boxes just going ape shit, and the trolleys just colliding, it was mad .

Tucker} Wow shit, that’s sick .

{ Tucker’s read}

” Yeah, I am starting to really like James, he seems to be settling in quite well, looks like he really has some good stories about Jason, and yeah I guess that’s good too, you know , like father like son , but yeah, I do have some good intentions, just hoping that it stays that way ” .

{ Then James gets up} ” This is great, you know, camping .

Tucker} Yeah, I guess it’s quite good, I pretty much just do this in my free time, when I have the time, and I’m not just jumping over fences and going after squirrels .

James} Yeah, this is just brilliant, it’s like the breath of fresh air and you know, the trees break your fall and nature’s with you, nature’s your friend .

Tucker} Yeah, are you on something ?.

James} Yeah, it was a pill, yeah .

Tucker} So you don’t like camping ?.

James} Exactly yeah, I bloody hate it, it’s the worst thing ever, bloody boring .

Tucker} Right, I thought so .

{The next day, and they are in the office}

Jason} Oh hi Tucker, James has been going absolutely nuts about you, he really enjoyed your company .

Tucker} Oh really ?, that’s good, I’m probably gonna join him again and go down to the pub and chug down a few beers .

Jason} But Tucker, Tucker, there are some things that I think that you should be aware of .

Tucker} Right, so what’s going on ?.

Jason} James basically came down to Hackney to recover from some personal problems .

Tucker} Right, what problems ?.

Jason} Well, he tends to get quite violent at times and go slightly crazy .

Tucker} Ok, I don’t see anything wrong with that ?.

Jason} Yeah I know but, there are times when it can get a bit too much .

Tucker} Right ok, well what happens, does he freak out and have parties in supermarkets ?.

Jason} No, it’s more of a violence outburst, like he’ll throw wine bottles at strangers .

Tucker} Shit, I didn’t know, you should of told me all of this earlier .

Jason} Yeah well, I thought that now was the right time to tell you .

Tucker} Well that’s just great, isn’t it, midlife crisis that’s gonna last, thank you very much , Jason, couldn’t be happier .

{ Tucker’s read}

” Well that’s just great, that is, never knew that he was a rebel, I always thought he liked to party, well that’s just a lost cause, and Jason waited so long to tell me, I have a feeling that both of them are partners in crime, knew it, should of knew from the start that they were planning something behind my back, absolute bozos ” .

{Meanwhile, Delsin is sitting on the doorstep of his house}

Delsin} Oh look, do you see that person over there, basically, he dresses up as fictional characters, sort of like clowns and wizards, and he turns up at corner shops, convincing them to give him a free Mars bar, and if you look at him very closely, you can see the outline of his skull, that’s really convincing, if you think about it, not convincing at all .

{Meanwhile, Tucker is still camping with James}

Tucker} It’s getting a bit dark now, maybe we should start heading back .

James} Yeah ok, did you bring a car or something ?.

Tucker} No I don’t think so, the office is not quite far from here .

James} I have an idea .

Tucker} What’s your idea ?.

James} Let’s go and steal a car .

Tucker} No, are you mad, we can’t steal a car, we’ll get arrested .

{James starts running off} ” Yeah let’s go man, come with me, you wait there, I’ll meet you near the sign . { Then he runs off}

Tucker} No, where the hell are you going, come back here, oh for god sake, guys, can you just stop there, I’m gonna have to go after him .

{ Then he runs after him}

{Few minutes later, Delsin and Leroy are at Tucker’s house}

Delsin} So, how did camping go ?.

Tucker} Absolutely terrible, Jason’s son bloody ran off and convinced me to a steal a car, and ran off, had an affair with a stranger, bloody took him back to my place, telling me to buy him shopping .

Leroy} Look, I don’t even know why Jason told you to look after him, he sounds like an absolute phycho .

{Then they get a phone call}

{Then Tucker picks up the phone} ” Hello .

Then Jason talks on the phone} ” Yeah hello, Tucker, is that you ?.

Tucker} Yes it is, what’s up ?.

Jason} Well, it’s about James, the police found him in a dustbin, and he’s ok, but I’m afraid that they have to admit him to a phychiatric hospital .

Tucker} What, so he’s been sectioned ?.

Jason} Yes, I’m afraid so .

Tucker} Oh shit, I knew all along .

Jason} But he’s ok, they are looking after him, they put him in a bloody van .

Tucker} Oh ok, I have to go now, talk to you in a bit .

{ Then he puts down the phone}

Delsin} What did he say ?.

Tucker} Erm, he just said that his son has been sectioned, I bloody knew it .

{ Tucker’s read}

” I knew that something was up, and I thought that he was just a normal adult, but really, there’s a side story, and I knew that he was acting strangely because he tried to use the fishing rod to break into a van, it’s baffling, like father like son, his father is a maniac and he turned into one too, it’s obvious, isn’t it ?.
