The Kids Of The Youth Detention Center, Chapter 2, Murder

As I woke up, I felt a slight breeze, the room was cold and dampened, and I also had a bit of a fever coming on . I had nothing to cool it down, the only thing I had was my hand, that was attached on to the wall . They also felt quite fragile, it felt like somebody crushed it to pieces. Then suddenly, I heard panic and a few voices in the other rooms, I was desperate to find out . I got up and I was sweating bullets .

” Sir, what’s going on ?”, I asked with a slight shiver and a voice crack .

” I don’t know, I think there’s a murder going on ”, he replied, you could see that he was stressed .

” Really ?, shit, I’m coming ”, I said, as I picked myself up from the floor and made my way to the main entrance . When I got there, I saw absolute malice, there was a body laying on the floor, with a knife by his side .

” Do you have any idea who did this ?”, I asked, as I couldn’t bare seeing it .

” No, I don’t know, some kid, we get this a lot, it happens a lot in youth prisons”, Jay replied . I suddenly realized on how gruesome it is to stay in youth prisons,  like some kids go in there and never come out alive, and I also fear that myself, but I just hope and pray that everything will be okay .

” Why would someone do this ?”, I said as I felt a tear rolling down my face .

” I don’t know, hate probably, people just don’t realize what a toll it takes on certain people, ignorance really effects you but it can really affect the other person as well”, Jay replied .

” Oh my god, poor lad, I can’t imagine the toll it took on the kid’s family, or if he even had one, just so tragic, I can’t bare it ”, I said and didn’t only just feel sorry for the kid, but I also felt bad for the family, they put their lives at risk for the birth of their child, but their days are over . As Jay took the body away, we came back into the main room and started an negotiation .

” Right guys, we are gonna start an investigation ”, Jay said, as he sat in a circle and joined us .

” Why are we in a circle ?”, Miles asked, as he was confused .

” We are gonna do an investigation for the murder, I wanna get some answers ”, Jay replied, as he sat down with a piece of paper and pen in both hands. ” Now, does anybody have an idea on who murdered the boy ?”, he asked .

” No, not that I know of ”, Dylan replied .

” Oh come on, man, someone must of done it, this isn’t witch craft ” Jay said . Then suddenly, the phone rang, so Jay ran and answered it .

” Hello, this is Jay Simmonds, chief of police, speaking ?” Jay asked, as he was waiting for an answer .

” Oh hello, this is Carly, Carly Smith, I’m Carson’s mum, I’m just wondering if I could speak to him ”, she said .

” Oh Carson, it’s your mum ” Jay said, as he walked over to him to hand him the phone .

” No, I don’t want to talk to her ”, Carson replied, as he was trying to push the phone away from him .

” Why not, Carson, it’s your mum ”, I said .

” No, I don’t wanna talk to her, okay ?, I don’t want to, okay ?”, he said and he was really upset .

” Excuse me, let me talk to my son, for once and for all”, she said, and she had an upsetting tone in her voice .

” I said, I don’t wanna talk her, she’s probably gonna shout at me and how much she wants me banished from her life, there’s no surprise ”, Carson shouted, he had very abusive parents and he always told me that he wanted to kill himself because nobody loved him .

” It’s all for show, she doesn’t give a shit about me, I don’t even know why someone even should, I did a crime and I’m a very bad person, now I have to pay the price for it ”, Carson explained, with a tear rolling down his eye .

” Look, I’m sure that it’s not your fault ”, I told him .

” No, of course it is, it’s all my fault, and my parents never taught me on what’s right and what’s wrong, but all I got was a bump on my forehead, I must be a disgrace to them, my whole life is a lie ”, Carson said and he was very angry and upset .

” No, that’s not true, your life isn’t a lie, nobody’s life is a lie, we’re all on this planet for a reason, so you should never say that ”, I told him .

” I just never wanna go home, I always take myself to the streets, taking my mind off of the things that are happening back at home, oh lord, can’t bare it all ”, he said .

” I’m sorry, I understand on how hard it must feel, but we just have to keep fighting the fight, that’s all you have to do ”, I told him, as I looked him in the eye, and I could see the pain in his eyes. ” But listen to me, your future is very bright, so stay in the present, not the past, nobody can change the past, but with the present, you can ” I added . And Carson looked at me and smiled and we hugged .
