Now, let’s talk about 80s pop culture. I absolutely love 80s pop culture, the stuff from the 80s is so iconic, like the fashion, the music, the movies, the icons, anything 80s is fantastic . Half of the icons in that decade are the ones who shaped us and made us who we are today . The films and the music get us through tough times and lifts our spirits . I have many favorite bands and singers from that time, so I thought that it’s time that I finally shared them with you, so ladies and Gentlemen, here are some of my all time favorite bands from the 80s .

So one of my all time favorite bands from the 80s is Duran Duran . Duran Duran was a new wave band in the 80s . Their music is bloody brilliant, like my top four favorite songs would have to be Hungry Like The Wolf, The Reflex, Rio, Girls On Film and A View To A Kill . Rio is a really good song and the music video is also great, it’s that one where all the members of the group are on this ship in the middle of no where, like it’s just so 80s, they are like just having so much fun filming that music video, it’s like genuine fun behind the scenes, that’s what I like to see . The 80s was full of that stuff, like music videos were really weird, but they were very creative and when there’s all chaos and havvock going on in the real world, those guys are just on a ship, in the middle of no where, just enjoying themselves, it’s brilliant . John Taylor is the guitarist and he’s so cute, Simon Le Bon is the lead singer, all together, they are just a great band and when they get to work, the magic happens . My dad introduced me to all these amazing bands and musicians and honestly, I’m kinda grateful for that . The 80s was the best decade for music and film, hands down .

Another one of my favorite bands from the 80s is A Ha . A ha is a band that was around in the 80s . They make really good music . You may recognize them from when they made the song, Take On Me, which is one of my favorite songs, it’s so iconic . I have another favorite song, which is called The Sun Always Shines On TV, it is amazing, the music video for that song is brilliant, it’s the one where the lead singer is standing in a room, that is filled with hundreds of these mannequin dolls, it’s kinda weird but it’s really good . I got my little cousin into them as well, she loves Take On Me, every time we play it on You Tube and on my phone, we always dance to it and we always sing the high pitched part, it’s so fun . A Ha is definetely one of my most favorite bands from that decade, their music makes you happy. People in the 80s were spoiled for choice, they had many amazing songs and musicians .

Another one of my favorite bands from the 80s is Haircut One Hundred. If you don’t know what Haircut One Hundred is . It’s basically a band that was around in the 80s. It was very hard to find photos of this band because every time I googled them, pictures of 80s hairstyles came up, like Google is so twisted, so I apologize for that . But anyways, they make a lot of great music, my most favorite songs are Love Plus One and Fantastic Day. There’s just something about their music that makes you feel something, like it just makes you wanna dance around your room, that’s exactly what I do . Nick Heywood is the lead singer and oh my god, he is so cute. I have had a crush on him for so long, there’s just something about him that takes my breath away, he’s gorgeous . But yeah, their music is so good, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and do that, because it’s just amazing .

Another one of my favorite bands is Spandau Ballet . Spandau Ballet was a band in the 80s, Their music is really good, I really like it . My favorite songs are True, Gold, My Instinction and many more . There was actually this really funny story of what happened between the group, like once, they were in Germany, yeah ?, and a few of them were in a sauna and they stumbled across this wooden plank, that was pinned to the floor . So they thought ” What is this thing ?” and there was writing on it but it appeared to be written in German, so one of them said, I actually can’t remember who said what, but one of them said ” I have no idea, it’s all written in German, I can’t understand a damn thing ” and I think Tony Hadley was like ” You know what, I think it might be a sidewalk, you know ?” and the others agreed with him and they thought that it was something that you walk on, when you are done with being in the sauna, so they just started jumping up and down and they were walking all over it, genuinely just slacking off, and then all of the sudden, this woman came running in and she told them off, she was like ” What the hell do you think you are doing ?” she was furious, then one of them was like ” Oh, we’re just walking on here, this is a sidewalk, isn’t it ?” and the woman was like ” No, it’s a flower bed ” and all them just felt ashamed of themselves, they were probably kicking themselves. But what a story, haha, my dad told me this when we were on our way back home from shopping and we were like cracking up all the way back home . Brilliant .

 

 

Another one of my favorite 80s bands is Thompson Twins . If you don’t know who they are, Thompson Twins was a band in the 80s, they make like really weird pop music, but it’s so good . We discovered them on Top Of The Pops and their music is so good .  Hold Me Now, Doctor Doctor, We Are Protected, Love On Your Side are such great songs . If you haven’t already listened to their music, go and check it out, because it’s amazing .

 

Another one of my favorite 80s bands is A Flock Of Seagulls . If you don’t know who they are, it’s basically a synth pop band that was around in the 80s. When I first discovered them, I saw them on Top Of The Pops and the lead singer had a really interesting hairstyle and I thought ” Who are these guys ?” and me and my dad watched an episode of Regular Show and we saw a character that looked so simular to the lead singer in A Flock Of Seagulls, I knew it for a fact because the character had the same hairstyle, the character was called Ace Balthazar and I also discovered that there was a portrait on the wall in one of the scenes in the cartoon and noticed something quite strange . In the portrait, the character was holding a seagull and from then on, I just had a feeling that it was based off of the lead singer in A Flock Of Seagulls . Most of the writers and voice actors who were involved, were 80s fanatics, so I still believe that the character was based off of him. Now me and my dad just joke about it every once in a while . Their music is great. My favorite songs are Wishing I Had A Photograph Of You, I Ran, Never Again, Space Age Love Song, The More You Live, The More You Love . It just puts a huge smile on my face . The Story Of A Young Heart is a great album, I have the record, I bought it from a record shop, it is such a good find. All of the songs on the album were great . And it’s way better when you hear it for the first time, since I had no clue what any of the songs were . Flock Of Seagulls is a great synth pop group . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it is incredible .

The Bangles is one of my all time favorite bands . It’s such a great all female band. When I first discovered them, I watched an episode of The Best Of The Tube and they did a performance, they did the song Manic Monday, and when I heard it, I just fell in love with it, I couldn’t stop playing it ever since, it’s such a good song . My cousin loves that song as well . Another song that I really like is Walk Like An Egyptian, it’s so catchy. Eternal Flame is pretty good as well . The Bangles is one of my most favorite 80s bands and like Susanna Hoffs is so pretty and she still looks good today, she hasn’t changed . Manic Monday is an amazing song, it’s so relatable . Like I’m not to keen on Mondays either, like Mondays are ok, on the whole, but they are not too great, because on Mondays, everyone is all orientated from the night before, everyone is all moody and really tired and we nag a lot, and we find pointless things to argue about, so Mondays are not the best, but then again, it’s not too bad, you just gotta take every day for what it is and make the most of our time on earth .  So Manic Monday is iconic song, it is very relatable . Like you can either relate to Manic Monday by The Bangles or you could relate to I Don’t Like Mondays by The Boom Town Rats, both of them are really good songs, like I used to hate waking up to go to school every day, and so, my dad would make me listen to that song, every Monday, haha, so many memories come with that song, like Jesus Christ, but yeah no, Manic Monday is a great song, I listen to it every Monday, well I listen to it every day . I also love James, All About You, Live, The Hero Takes A Fall, Complicated Girl, September Gurls, In Your Room and If She Knew What She Wants, I love those songs . The Bangles are lifting my spirits and getting me through these trying times, so thank you guys, I love you so much,  you guys are amazing .

 

The Cure is another one of my favorite 80s bands . Their music is so good . The Cure was a band that was around in the 80s, and suprisingly, they are still together, they haven’t split up . My favorite songs are Friday I’m In Love, Love Cats, Just Like Heaven, Boys Don’t Cry and many many more . They headlined at Glastonbury in 2019 and they absolutely smashed it, the music sounded really good live, I must say . Robert Smith still sounds the same after all this time, it’s crazy . Their music is amazing, go and check them out .

Another one of my favorite pop groups of the 80s is Bucks Fizz . Their music is so good. My favorite songs are Land Of Make Believe, Making Your Mind Up and many more . Their music just makes you feel happy, it cheers you up when you’re not feeling your best . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and do so, because they are really good .

Kajagoogoo is one of my all time favorite bands . I only know one of their songs but from what I’ve heard, it’s enough to give me a reason to like them . Too Shy is one of my all time favorite 80s songs, it’s so catchy . I remember this time when I was at my old primary school, and I was in year six and I had this helper, who helped out in the class and she was so cool, she let us listen to music while we did our school work, so she put on Too Shy by Kajagoogoo, she knew what I liked, and I just remember like vibing to the song and half of the class was just looking at me, thinking ” What is wrong with this girl ?” and I was just so happy and the class was confused, it was really funny . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and do so, because you will love it, I assure you .

Depeche Mode is one of my all time favorite bands from the 80s. Their music is really good . My favorite songs are See You, Just Can’t Get Enough, Everything Counts and many more . See You is such a great song, I saw them on Top Of The Pops and it was so good, but when is Dave Gahan gonna stop doing that dance ?, haha, he keeps doing that dance all the time, it’s sort of like the Rick Roll but on aenesthetic, but jokes aside, their music is really good .

Wham is one of my favorite pop groups from the 80s . George Michael was like a star. Their music is great . My mum was obsessed with Wham and George Michael when she was younger, like mother, like daughter, haha, that’s all I have to say. The 80s isn’t the 80s without a bit of Wham, that was like one of the highlights of that decade . George Michael was so handsome back then. Gay or straight, it doesn’t matter, he will always be cute . I think he passed away in 2019 at Christmas, which is a shame, I think he died in his sleep, that is terrible and it was a shock, but what’s good is that he left all the great music for the world to enjoy. Andrew Ridgeley was so cute though, they are both amazing pop stars . My top favorite songs are Wham Rap, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, The Edge Of Heaven, Last Christmas and many more . Wham is just so great, their music just makes you feel happy and it makes you just want to get up and dance .

Culture Club is another one of my favorite 80s bands . When I first discovered them, I had no clue who they were. When I first saw Boy George, I was like ” Who the hell is that ?” like he was on Top Of The Pops, he was in full top toe, makeup and clothing, I was like ” Is that a man or a woman ?” I was so confused, but then I found out that the main singer was a male and it made a bit of sense .  Culture Club was a new wave band in the 80s . The singer was known for wearing these crazy outfits and weird hats, that was just something that they were going for at the time . Their music is really good . My dad got me into Culture Club and I thought their music was really cool . My top favorites are Do You Really Want To Hurt Me ? and Karma Chameleon . War Song is another really good song, the music video is so weird though, like it’s that song that goes ” War is stupid, everybody’s stupid ”, it is so funny, I do have to agree, war is stupid, yet the UK just can’t get enough of it, especially with this latest chaos, between Ukraine and Russia, it’s just mad, they really don’t have to do war, they’re just war freaks, like they just can’t stay out of it, they’re gonna make an even bigger mess, like what the hell, when are we gonna hear the end of this ?, honestly . I think Culture Club was just escapism, cause the world was crazy in the 80s, all sorts of shit was going on, and they were just there, wearing all these crazy outfits and Boy George was dancing on some high building and everyone’s just dancing everywhere, Culture Club was just making a big difference just by being themselves . Their music was escapism . Their music is great, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check them out, because it’s amazing .

Adam And The Ants is another one of my favorite bands . Adam And The Ants was an English rock band in the 80s . Their music is amazing . My favorite songs would have to be Prince Charming and Stand And Deliver, but I also like some other ones too . Such as, Kings Of The Wild Fronteir, Goody Two Shoes, Friend Or Foe, Ant Music and many more . Stand And Deliver was the first song I ever heard from them and I think my dad showed me the music video and the song is about Dick Turpin and the highway men back in the day, the song is great, all their songs are catchy and just so amazing . Adam Ant is the front man of the band, he has a very strange look, he has that white line going across his face and when I first saw him, I was like ” What the hell, who is that geezer ?” and I was probably terrified, but their music is great . My dad used to be a DJ in Wag Club, back in the 80s and he actually met him, but that’s a story for another day . I’m thinking of doing a write up on The New Romantics very soon, so stay tuned for that . But yeah, Adam And The Ants is a great band, you should go and check them out .

ABC is another one of my favorite 80s bands . Their music is brilliant . My favorite songs are All Of My Heart, Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love, When Smokey Sings and many more . They are just a great band . The 80s had the best music, without a doubt . Go and check them out, they are great .

Bananarama is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Bananarama was a great all female band . My favorite songs are Really Saying Something, when they did a collaboration with Fun Boy Three, which was another group that made music during the 80s.I also really love Robert De Niro Is Waiting, I also love Shy Boy, I also love Cruel Summer, Venus and many more . They were really good for a little while and then later on, they turned really poppy and it turned into the Stock Aitken Waterman sort of stuff . But yeah, their music was great . You should check them out .

The Go Go’s is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . The Go Go’s is an amazing girl band. I have been listening to their music a lot, lately and honestly, it’s amazing . Their music is just really fun, it’s sort of like The Bangles, they are a great girl band . Their music just lifts my spirits and makes me wanna dance around my room . The Go Go’s definetely needs some more recognition, their music is incredible . When it comes to favorite band members, I find it hard to choose because I love all of them the same way, but if I had to choose one, I would have to choose Jane Wiedlin, I love Jane Wiedlin, she is amazing and she is so pretty, I love her so much . Like can I be her friend, like I just wanna be her friend, haha, she looks so fun to be around . Their music is so good . I really love ” We Got The Beat ”, ” Our Lips Are Sealed, Girl Of 1oo Lists and Vacation. If you haven’t listened to their music, go and check it out, it’s amazing .

Sister Sledge is another one of my favorite pop groups from the 80s . I love Sister Sledge, they are absolutely amazing . They made some really good songs . We Are Family is one of my favorites, it’s such a great song, it reminds me of my old primary school, because we had to perform that song in one of our school plays, it’s just so nostalgic, I love it . Frankie is another one of my favorite songs, I just love it so much, it makes me so happy . The music video is great as well, one of the girls in the group is just stalking this man, it was so weird but the song is amazing . Fun fact actually, the song is about Frank Sinatra, but they just put Frankie . That song is so good, it always makes me happy every time I listen to it, great song . I just love Sister Sledge, they are amazing, another great all female pop group . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s amazing .

 

Pepsi And Shirly is another one of my favorite music duos from the 80s . I love Pepsi And Shirly, it’s amazing . It’s so iconic . You many recognize Shirly from somewhere and you may feel like she is familiar, that’s because she was in the pop group, Wham, she was one of the dancers . Then later on, she married Martin Kemp, who was from another group, which was called Spandau Ballet . But yeah, Pepsi And Shirly is amazing, the next thing we need is a Pepsi And Shirly reunion, haha, they need to start making music again, then my life would be complete, haha . But yeah, they made some really good songs . Heart Ache is a great song, it’s just so 80s, if you know what I mean . Their music is just amazing, I love it . Another one of my favorite bands from the 80s is The Smiths . In case you’re not familiar with them, The Smiths was a rock band that was around in the 80s . They made some really good music . My favorite songs are This Charming Man, Big Mouth Strikes Again, Girlfriend In A Coma, Please, Please, Please, Sheila Take A Bow, Panic, Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now and many more . Morrissey is the lead singer of the band. Me and my dad watch Top Of The Pops and they went on there a few times and every time they are on Top Of The Pops, Morrissey always has a bouquet of roses in his hand and he always waves them about and then, he sometimes throws them into the crowd, it’s hilarious, what’s up with him and his bouquet of roses, he does it every time, it’s hilarious, haha . But yeah, The Smiths is great, the song writing is very clever and it’s really cool how they put it into their songs . Morrissey is a bit of an idiot but the music is great, I like Johnny Marr though, he’s great, like how he plays the guitar, absolute legend, Johnny Marr is the brain behind the Smiths, sorry Morrissey, haha, I’m just joking, but um yeah, I feel like you need both of them in the band, because you have the baselines and the voice as well, those are some of the things you need in music, so it all works when all of them come together . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and listen to it, cause it’s really good .

Earth, Wind And Fire is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . I love Earth, Wind And Fire, they are great . Let Us Groove and September are my absolute favorites. They made some really good songs . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check them out, cause they are amazing .

Japan is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Japan was such an obscure band, like how they were dressed and they all wore some form of makeup . Japan was originally a band that was in the 70s, but they made songs in the 80s as well . David Sylvian is the front man of the band, he brang a really strange aroma into their songs . It’s so weird but it’s so good at the same time . Two of my favorite songs are Ghosts and Life In Tokyo . Ghosts was a great song, it sounds so scary and creepy because of how it was sung, but it is amazing . I saw them on Top Of The Pops and they did the song, Ghosts and half way through the performance, David Sylvian’s face started melting, it was obviously special effects and stuff like that, but it was so creepy and it would send chills down your spine . Japan is amazing . Definetely one of the best bands in the 70s and 80s .

Fun Boy Three is another one of my favorite bands / groups from the 80s . Fun Boy Three has some of the band members from the band, The Specials, which was another band in the 80s, but they split, so later on, Terry Hall and two of the other guys went and formed Fun Boy Three . I love both Fun Boy Three and The Specials, they are both great . My dad got me into them and I’m grateful for that . My favorite songs The Lunatics Are Taking Over The Asylum, Summertime, Ghost town, The Tunnel Of Love, The Telephone Rings, Faith, Hope And Charity, Our Lips Are Sealed, It Ain’t What You Do, It’s The Way That You Do It and more . Ghost Town was a great song. It’s about how grim it was during the Thatcher days in 1980s London in Coventry and it was basically a ghost town, it was such a great song . Me and my family went to the two tone museum in Coventry and we got to sit in the real car that they used for the music video, it was so cool . I also liked it when they did a duet with Bananarama and they came out with two songs, He Was Really Saying Something and It Ain’t What You Do, It’s The Way That You Do It, both are such great songs . They made some really good songs back in the day . You should go and check them out, they are really good .

The Human League is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . They make really good music . The Human League was a band in the 80s, they were great . My top 3 favorite songs are Don’t You Want Me, {Keep Feeling} Fascination, The Lebanon and Human . I love all of them though . Don’t You Want Me is so catchy, it’s a song that will get stuck in your head, I find myself singing it from time to time, it’s a great song . If you haven’t their music yet, you should go and listen to it, cause it’s amazing .

 

Roxy Music is another one of my favorite 70s / 80s bands . Roxy Music was formed in 1970, so technically it’s a 70s band, but they made songs in the 80s as well, so I guess it still counts . Roxy Music was a great band . Brian Ferry is the lead singer, he is a bit potty, but he’s great, he has real talent at what he does. My sister surprised my dad with tickets to go and see Roxy Music at The Royal Albert Hall, a year ago and they loved it, they had a great time, it was during the pandemic so they were extra careful . My dad was skeptical at first, but my sister managed to convince him to go along with it, so they went and they had a great time . My sister said that Brian Ferry still sounds the same after all those years, I mean, sure that he’s gotten older, but he hasn’t changed much, music wise . So yeah, they had a great time, I was jealous, but they promised me that when this thing is over, and when Roxy Music goes to The Royal Albert Hall to perform again, we are all gonna go together, so fingers crossed . My favorite songs are Over You, Love Is The Drug, Slave To Love, Jealous Guy, Virginia Plane, Do The Strand, Avalon and many more . One of my favorite songs is Jealous Guy, it’s a great song . Jealous Guy was the first Roxy Music song that I have ever heard, when I first saw the music video and when I first saw Brian Ferry, I was like ” Who the hell is this maniac ?” that was my first thought . The song was originally written by John Lennon, that’s how you know that the song is great, he wrote some really good songs . The music video for Jealous Guy is iconic, the whole music video was just focused and zooming into Brian Ferry’s face and he was standing in this weird position, he looked like he was taking a shit or something, I was like ” Why is he standing like that ?” like he was just standing in the corner, staring up to the ceiling . it was hilarious, and that legendary, iconic whistle that he did, half way through the song. My dad told me that he did it again, when they performed at The Royal Albert Hall, that was a great touch, you’ve gotta have that whistle, you can’t not do it, it’s absolutely brilliant . Why do I feel like Brian Ferry would be that sort of person who would just be a night club and he would stand in the corner, looking at you in a mad way, with a tooth pick sticking out of his mouth, he looks like the sort of person who would do that, he would just have that sinister, demented look and would look at you and say ” Hey, what’s going on, man, you want some hasheesh ?”, like that’s something what he would do, convince me otherwise . But yeah, Brian Ferry is great .  They just made great music . They need more recognition, so if you haven’t listened to their music, go and listen to it, cause it’s amazing .

Another one of my favorite bands and music groups from the 80s is Musical Youth . Musical Youth was a band in the 80s, they were like a British Jamaican Reggae band . They made amazing music, just a bunch of amazing, talented kids . My dad got me into them, he knew about them far before I did, their music just amazing, it makes you happy . My favorite songs are Never Gonna Give You Up and Pass The Dutchie . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, they are brilliant .

Psychedelic Furs is another one of my favorite 80s bands . Psychedelic Furs made great music . My favorite songs are Ghost Of You, Pretty In Pink and Love My Way . They were a great 80s band . Their music is amazing . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

 

 

New Kids On The Block is another one of my favorite boy bands from the 80s and 90s . New Kids On The Block was a boy band that made music in the 80s and all the way into the 90s . They made some really good music. A lot of girls had crushes on these guys . Hundreds of them had posters, pinned onto their walls, many girls were obsessed with them, but I can see why they were obsessed with these guys back in the day, most of them are really cute . My mum used to love them when she was younger, she told me that she bought a few of their albums . They made some great music, my favorite songs are Step By Step and Hangin Tough, I have yet to listen to the rest of them . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s great .

The Jam is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . The Jam was great, they made songs in the 70s and then it went all the way up until the 80s . All their songs are really good . There’s just so much energy in them . Each song has a different story behind it, Going Underground is a song about politics and parliament, the same goes for Eton Rifles, they both have similar meanings . My favorite songs are Going Underground, Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, David Watts, In The City and many more . They are just a great band, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s great .

Bad Manners is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Bad Manners was a Ska band that was around in the 80s . They made some really great music . My favorite songs are Lip Up Fatty, Special Brew, Lorraine, Just A Feeling and many more . The lead singer is absolutely demented, he pretty much jumps everywhere, every time they made an appearance on Top Of The Pops, he would jump everywhere and dance across the stage, how does he have so much energy ?, haha . Special Brew is one of my all time favorite songs. For half of the song, it’s all slow, he doesn’t get up and dance really fast, like he always does, it’s really slow paced, he’s just sitting on a rocking chair, then suddenly, the song goes really fast and then he gets up and starts doing that dance, haha, it’s so funny, then he does that thing where he sticks his tongue out, it’s like Kiss, it makes me crack up every time, brilliant . Most of the geezers who were in the band, went to my dad’s old school. He went to Woodberry Down, it’s a very brutal school, punch ups used to happen all the time, but yeah, they used to go to the same secondary school as him, I remember my dad telling me this and I was like ” What ?”, it’s crazy if you think about it . Bad Manners is a great band from that time . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s amazing .

Pet Shop Boys is another one of my favorite pop duos from the 80s . Pet Shop Boys was amazing . West End Girls will never not be iconic, it’s such a great song. Always On My Mind is pretty good as well, I am well aware that it’s not the original, I think Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James did the original . But what I like is that Pet Shop Boys brought something new to the table, they added some different elements into their song and that they didn’t fully copy them, that’s what I like about it . Neil Tennant is great, I love his voice, he has a very beautiful voice, I love it . I also love It’s A Sin, It’s A Sin is great, and now all because of the song, we have the amazing Russel T Davis channel 4 drama, It’s A Sin, which is one of my favorite dramas, it’s about five friends who are going through the Aids crisis in the 80s, it’s such a tear jerker, it never fails to make me cry, it’s absolutely brilliant . But yeah, Pet Shop Boys was an amazing synth pop duo in the 80s, their music will continue to be legendary . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s great .

Eurythmics is another one of my favorite pop duos from the 80s . Eurythmics was a British pop duo that was around in the 80s . Consisting of members, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart . Eurythmics was very strange and very obscure, but also really good . Eurythmics was just one of those duos where you would see them on Top Of The Pops and wonder who they are, you would just be like ” Who are these lunatics ?” and you would just be really confused, it has the same appeal to Sparks, people had no idea who they were, when they first did their debut on Top Of The Pops in 1974, people would just be like ” Why on earth is Hitler playing the keyboard ?” ” Who are these people, the Hindooja brothers ?” haha. Could you imagine, when a kid first discovers Eurythmics and when they see Annie Lennox for the first time, in the beginning of the 80s, they would either be terrified or fascinated . Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These is a great song, the video is so weird but I love it, my cousin likes that song as well, the other day, I put it on for her, she was like ” it’s got sick beats ” haha, then when I first put it on for her, she really got into it and my uncle changed the channel and then she absolutely flipped, but that’s a story for another time . But yeah no, Eurythmics is great, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

ELO is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Electric Light Orchestra is great . My favorite songs are Mr Blue Sky, Telephone Line, Evil Woman, Last Train To London, Livin Thing, Don’t Bring Me Down, Don’t Walk Away and many more . Their music is just amazing . Jeff Lynne still sounds the same . Their music just makes me happy . You Can’t beat good music, you just can’t beat it . Good music will live on forever . Soft Cell is another one of my favorite synth pop duos . Soft Cell is great, their music is really good . They made some really good songs. My top favorites are Say Hello Wave Goodbye, Tainted Love and many more . My dad got me into them, he grew up in the 80s and he introduces this sort of music to me, it’s really good . Marc Almond is the lead singer, he actually hasn’t changed that much . But yeah, their music is really good, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

Visage is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Visage was really bizarre, but it is absolutely amazing . Steve Strange is the lead singer, he wore all of this like crazy makeup on his face and it was seen as quite obscure, Steve Strange isn’t really his real name, he had some other name, but Steve Strange was his stage name . My dad really loves Visage, when he was younger, he used to be a DJ at Wag Club and Labetrute and he used to tell us these stories of when he was there, doing a lot of breaking and cutting up on the decks, and at the time, Steve Strange was the door man and he would just stand there, checking if people were dressed a certain way, otherwise they wouldn’t be allowed in. At the time, there was this thing called The New Romantics and started coming in, in the early 80s and people used to dress up in these weird outfits and like massive hats, these big cloaks and when you see them, you would think that aliens have arrived on the planet, it’s like your on Mars or something, haha, it was crazy . But yeah, I’m gonna do a whole write up on The New Romantics on a whole different post, it’s coming very soon, so stay tuned for that . But yeah, Visage made some really good music . Half of their music videos are so weird, like one of them takes place on a train, that one is The Damned Don’t Cry, the other is just in some weird dark room, where half of Steve’s face has purple and the other half is white, that one is Fade To Grey . Their music videos are so weird, but so brilliant at the same time . It was just so creative . My other favorite songs are Mind Of A Toy, Malpasso Man, Visage, Night Train and many more . They were just a great British synth pop band . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s great .

Ultravox is another one of my favorite 80s bands . Ultravox was a British New Wave band that was formed in 1974, they made music all the way into the 80s . Ultravox is great, my all time favorite song is Vienna . The music video is crazy, it was like crime themed, with full of mysteries, it’s a great song, it’s iconic, every time you hear the song, you get goosebumps . My dad really loves this band, he was around when they started making music and now he’s introducing all this stuff to me, I am beyond grateful that I was introduced to all these gems from the 70s and 80s . Midge Ure is the lead singer, his voice gives the song a really good atmosphere and aroma .  My other favorite songs are The Voice, Hymn, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Reap The Wild Wind and many more . Reap The Wild Wind is a great song, the music video is so weird though, like everyone from Ultravox is just standing in the middle of no where, trying to build this thing, like an Aero plane or something, I have no idea what they were trying to build, you just wonder ” What on Earth are these guys doing ?” it’s brilliant . Oh the innocence of 80s music videos, ay ?, haha, it’s just full of mad shit like that, you wonder what’s going on . Every time we hear that song, me and my dad just joke about it and we always mention the music video, haha, it was so funny, classic . Me and my dad listen to the mixes that Rusty Egan makes . It just has a bunch of that Wag Club music on there. Such as Visage, Ultravox and whole lot of other stuff too, it’s really good .  If you don’t know who Rusty Egan is, he is a DJ, but he used to be a former drummer for the British new wave band, The Rich Kids, and he knew them . You can find out more in documentaries or you could just search it up on Google, it’ll tell you a lot of information . But yeah, Ultravox is really good . Me and my dad both love it . Queen is another one of my favorite 70s / 80s rock bands . What can I say about Queen ?, I bloody love Queen . I really do, they are brilliant . Freddie Mercury is an absolute legend and he always will be. Queen was a band in the 70s, but they also made some songs in the 80s, such as I Want To Break Free, Hammer To Fall, Princes Of The Universe and I Want It All, all of them are such great songs . Who knew that Queen was gonna be massive, and their manager, said that no one will ever play Queen, I bet he’s shitting himself, now that they were famous and one of the most legendary rock bands in the world . My favorite songs are Bohemian Rhapsody, Hammer To Fall, I Want To Break Free, Killer Queen, Somebody To Love, We Are The Champions, Love Of My Life, Who Wants To Live Forever, I Am Here, The Show Must Go On, Doing Alright and many more . Queen is just amazing, everyone is amazing, including Freddie Mercury . Unfortunatly, Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, due to Aids, which is absolutely devestating, he was a proper legend, and I’m sure that he is floating above the clouds, just watching over his band members, he will forever be a legend . We’ve come a long way with Aids treatments and cures, we have like ground breaking science and medicines, so I could, I would go back in time and give it him and give him another chance at life . If only that could really happen . Queen is one of my most favorite rock bands from that time. When the film, Bohemian Rhapsody came out, me and my family went to go and see it and it was absolutely amazing, it was funny, it was exciting, it was heart breaking at times and it was just great story telling, it’s one of my favorite films, if I could watch it again, I would, without a doubt . Rami Malek did an amazing job at portraying Freddie, some people would say that he did a shit job, but I think he was great, some people are entitled to their own opinions . But yeah, going to the cinema, was really fun, the film was great, I have so many favorite scenes, but one of my favorite scenes is the one where all the band members are recording the song, Bohemian Rhapsody and then Roger Taylor is like ” How many Gallaleous do you want ?” that scene was great, you just see Roger Taylor, completely losing his shit over the Gallaleous, haha . And when Freddie Mercury did those keys on the piano in Bohemian Rhapsody, you could feel the Goosebumps coming onto your arms, it was the best feeling ever . Bohemian Rhapsody will never not be iconic, especially that record cover, when they are in the dark room, I will fight with anyone who says that Bohemian Rhapsody is not iconic, because it is . I just love Queen. I love John Deacon, he’s so cute and adorable, I love Brian May and of course, Freddie Mercury and I also love Roger Taylor . Speaking of which, I actually received a message from Roger Taylor once, I think it was a few months ago and I was on Twitter and I just noticed a comment from him, because I liked a few of his Tweets and he said ” Thank you for being a big fan of us, blah blah blah ” and he said my name as well, I was completely starstruck, I didn’t know what to do, I was literally just on my way back from going shopping with my mum, dad and my gran and I was like ” What ?” I was so shocked, I was like emploding inside of me, I couldn’t believe it, that comment really made my day . I didn’t tell anyone that I received a message from Roger Taylor, I just kept quiet, because I thought that it might have been a bot or I might have not even been him, so I just kept quiet . Then a few days later, my dad checked my phone and saw that there was a message from him and he was like ” Oh my god, you got a message from Roger Taylor ” and I was just really calm about it, I was like ” Yeah I know ” but inside, I was so happy . I never replied to him, because I thought that it wasn’t a real comment, now I’m just kicking myself, because it was real, I would of said something, but I just didn’t know what to say, so yeah, I’m kicking myself, still to this day . I think I also got a message from Mick Jagger once, I still can’t get over that one, but yeah it was crazy, I remember being so shook . The Queen live Aid performance will never not be iconic, that was just amazing, it’s so emotional, it never fails to make me cry . Freddie just had so much charisma, he was an absolute legend . All the members of Queen are just memes. I’ve seen many of their interviews and them having arguments during sound checks and they are absolutely hilarious, it just goes to show how stressful studios can be. What I wanna know is did Roger Taylor get his coffee with three seven sugars in it, haha. That’s what I want to know . Did he get his three sevens ?, haha, classic. There’s another moment that I love, and it’s the one where a bird shits all over the chair and you could just see everyone getting up and moving away, being like ” Uh, oh hell no, forget this, I’m out ”, it’s so funny . I never actually knew that Roger Taylor started making music, I’ve heard about the time where he wrote the song, I’m In Love With My Car, but I never knew that he made his own songs . His singing is ok, but he can’t act for shit, every time he tries to act, he just looks like some demented stalker, haha, Roger Taylor is an absolute legend, great drummer, but he can’t act for shit, maybe he should just stick to what he does best, and that’s drumming . I have listened to two of his songs, my favorite song is Strange Fronteir, the music video is weird, don’t know who that mad geezer is in the car, Roger Taylor looks demented in that, his facial expressions kill me, it’s really bad but the song is actually pretty good, I can’t stop listening to it . I remember this thing that happened a while back, when Roger Taylor wrote the song, I’m In Love With My Car. Freddie Mercury locked him in the toilet when he found out that he had wrote that song, haha, Freddie Mercury was a bit mad, that was a great story, haha .But yeah, I love Queen . The Rolling Stones is another one of my favorite 70s / 80s bands . The Rolling Stones is great . The Rolling Stones made some songs in the 70s, but they also made some songs in the 80s as well, so I guess it counts . The Rolling Stones made some great songs . Mic Jagger is the lead singer, he always has a lot of energy, like when they play live or when you see them in music videos, he is always high and jumping everywhere, sometimes you wonder if he’s on something, like weed or Charlie or like crack or something, haha . Everyone in the band are like maniacs, like they all look mad, haha, but yeah no, they make amazing music though . I think Charlie Watts, the drummer, passed away a year ago, that is an absolute shame, he was great . But his amazing work will always be remembered . My favorite songs are Paint It Black, Waiting On A Friend, I Can’t Get No Satisfaction, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Sympathy For The Devil, Moonlight Mile, Wild Horses and many more . I remember when they performed live in Hyde Park, and there were a bunch of mad women who tried to get up onto the stage and they were being dragged off by security, then all the Hells Angels were there, watching everyone who was there, then there was this geezer with a bottle, with hundreds of butterflies trapped inside, then he’s opening the bottle and some of them are dead, it was absolutely mayhem, it was chaos . That was a very weird set . I remember getting a tweet from Mick Jagger on Twitter, I think it’s because I liked some of his comments, but it was crazy . I’ll save that story for another day, otherwise I’ll just be rambling on for ages . But yeah, The Rolling Stones is great . Hall and Oates is another one of my favorite pop rock duos from the 80s . Hall and Oates is absolutely brilliant . They made great music . My favorite songs are You Make My Dreams Come True, Man Eater and Private Eyes . Their music just makes you feel happy . I listen to the song, You Make My Dreams Come True when I’m doing my workout, it’s really up beat and it really gets you going . Hall and Oates will always be one of my favorite duos, without a doubt, they are definetely up there with the Sparks brothers, who were also a pop duo back in the 70s, 80s and 90s . Dexy’s Midnight Runners is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . They made some really good songs . Come On Eileen is a great song, it will always be iconic, whenever I meet a girl named Eileen, I will always sing that song, haha . Kevin Rowland is the lead singer, you always have no idea on what he’s singing about, it’s like complete gibberish, I had no idea what the lyrics in Come On Eileen were, I had to search it up, I just couldn’t make sense of it all, haha . There, There, My Dear is also a great song, as well as Gino. Many of their songs are really good . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, check it out, because it’s really good .

Talking Heads is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Talking Heads is great . Talking Heads was a band that was around in the 80s . They made some really good songs . My favorite songs are Once In A Lifetime, Psycho Killer and Road To No Where. The music video for Once In A Lifetime is brilliant. It’s the one where David Byrne is squirming everywhere and dancing all over the place, then there’s that strange back round, then he’s like doing that weird dance, it always cracks me up . Talking Heads made some great music . David Byrne always looks demented in all of the music videos, haha . I remember when my dad first introduced me to Talking Heads, he showed me the music video for Once In A lifetime, I was so confused, I was like ” Why is this strange man dancing all over the place ?” I was like ” What the heck ?”, I always likened David Byrne with my old teacher from my primary school, my teacher always reminded me of David Byrne for some reason, he was demented as well and every time we watch the music video, we always joke around and say ” Oh look, your teacher is in the music video, why on earth is he doing the worm ?” haha, it’s hilarious . Talking Heads is great, they were so ahead of their time . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it is fantastic .

The Who is another one of my favorite 60s/ 70s and 80s bands . The Who is great . So many good songs came from them . Baba O Riley, Pinball Wizard, My Generation, The Seeker and many more . They are a great band, definetely one of my favorites . Their music is so good . If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it is great .

The Police is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . They made really good music . My favorite songs are, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Every Breath You Take and Don’t So Close To Me . Every Breath You Take is a really good song . At first, I thought it was a song about romance and love, but turns out, no . It’s actually a song about a stalker. You actually know that it’s about a creepy stalker, by the lyrics in the song, like you can’t tell me that it’s not a song about a stalker . Like even the lead singer stepped forward and said that it’s a song about a stalker, so that makes sense . It’s so creepy, like when I first heard it, I was like ” Awww, that’s so cute, it’s so romantic, this man and this woman have feelings for each other ” not knowing that it’s not actually a song about romance . It just totally went over my head at the time . But I guess you can look at it with different intentions and different views, one person can believe that it’s a romantic song, and the other can believe that it’s a song about stalking . But that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the song, you can’t take these things so seriously, it’s just a song, at the end of the day, music is there for us to enjoy, it’s escapism . So I love that song, it’s great, it’s very catchy . Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic is also a good song. The music video is classic. Everyone in the band is just making a mess, causing havvock and just enjoying themselves in the studio, it’s hilarious . You could really tell that they had a lot of fun making that music video . I don’t blame them, looks like a lot of fun, everyone just looks mad in that music video, haha . The Police is a great 80s band. They made some really great music . Tears For Fears is another one of my favorite music duos from the 80s . Tears For Fears is great, they made some really good music . My favorite songs are Shout, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Pale Shelter, Shout, Suffer The Children and Mad World . Those are my most favorite songs from them . Their music is just great. XTC is another one of my favorite bands from the 80s . XTC was a pop group that was around in the 80s . They made some really good music . Senses Working Over Time is one of my all time favorites, I remember hearing it for the very first time and I was like ” Oh my god, this is amazing ”, and from then on, I just couldn’t stop playing it, it’s a great song, it’s so catchy and you’ll never get sick of it . Making Plans For Nigel is another one of my favorite songs . I always thought that the song was about Nigel Farage, like me and my family always used to joke about it and say that it’s about Nigel Farage, until we found out that it wasn’t about Nigel Farage, it was about something else, something completely different, so I was like ” Afff, that’s quite shit then ”, it should of been about Nigel Farage . The lyrics in the song made me think that it was about him, like the lyrics, ” We’re only making plans for Nigel ”, ” We Only Want What’s best for him ”, ” Nigel needs a helping hand ”, no, correction, Nigel makes plans for himself, he only wants best for himself, Nigel doesn’t need a helping hand, he gives himself a helping hand, haha, that’s more like it . Whenever I play this song, it just makes me laugh, cause all I think about is Nigel Farage, what a git, haha, but the song is really good, jokes aside . When the song came out, all the kids who were called Nigel had it tough at school, all the kids would take the piss and make fun of them, my dad told me this and I was ” Bloody hell, that’s nice, isn’t it ?”, I felt like the song just created a mockery out of all the kids who were named Nigel, it’s just hilarious, I mean, that isn’t hilarious, that’s terrible, but you know what I mean . But yeah, XTC is a great band from the 80s, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

The Proclaimers is another one of my favorite bands / music duos from the 80s . The Proclaimers is absolutely brilliant . The Proclaimers was a Scottish duo that made music in the 80s . My favorite songs are Letter From America and I’m Gonna Be { 500 Miles}, those songs are really good . Letter From America is a great song, that was the first song that I ever heard from them, Letter From America is a great song. I’m Gonna Be { 500 Miles} is another great song, my mum used to take the piss and she told me that my sister hated that song, she thought it was shit, but she really loves it now, so that’s all what matters, I guess music taste and views change when you get older, haha . When you get older, you begin to appreciate music much more . But yeah, The Proclaimers is great . Ok so, one of my all time favorite singers from the 80s is Whitney Houston . Whitney bloody Houston, I love her, she’s a icon . The 80s wasn’t the 80s without Whitney Houston . You may know her from she did that song, it was called I Will Always Love You, which is a song that she made in the 90s, it is a really sad and emotional song, but it’s amazing . I am obsessed with I Wanna Dance With Somebody . That song was the epitome of the 80s, it’s such a good song . She is so pretty . Unfortunatly, she passed away in 2012, so that is an absolute shame . She was a legend that died too soon . But what’s good is that her music is here for us to enjoy, so Amen to that .

 

Another one of my favorite singers from the 80s is Madonna . Madonna made some really good music in the 80s . My top favorites are Material Girl, Angel, Like A Virgin and Papa Don’t Preach . Words cannot explain how much I love Material Girl, that song is so good . I love the music video, I like how they based the set up on Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend from the film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes . Considering how they both have similar meanings . My little cousin loves the song, Material Girl, we dance to it every single day . My cousin is gonna have immaculate taste when she grows up . All I have to say is, I need that pink dress, haha . Madonna in the 80s was really good, then she suddenly went a bit silly after that, but her music in the 80s was great .

Deborah Harry is another one of my favorite singers . What can I say about Deborah Harry ?, um, she is an icon, I bloody love her . If you don’t know who she is, basically, she was in a band called Blondie. Blondie was a band in the 70s . I absolutely love Blondie . Deborah Harry is a queen, she was so pretty and she still is, even though she’s a lot older, but she still sounds the exact same, the girl still has it, I’m telling ya . Deborah Harry is an amazing singer, I love her voice, she’s basically the best, as well as the band that she was in . You should go and check it out, it’s amazing .

Olivia Newton John is another one of my favorite female singers / icons from the 80s . I absolutely love Olivia Newton John, Olivia Newton John is an icon . She’s so pretty . She also did some acting as well, she played the role of Sandy from Grease . I absolutely love that film, it’s a classic . It was a complete shocker to me when I found out that she was Australian, so at the end of the film, they just gave her an American Accent, haha . Olivia Newton John was also known for her iconic 80s song, Physical, it’s the one where it has everyone is working out and she’s like tormenting them, it is absolutely brilliant, I love that song, I play that song when I’m doing my workout, it’s great, but then I found out that the song isn’t actually about working out, it’s actually about sex, uh, but it’s fine anyway, it’s still amazing though . Another song of hers that I really love, is Twist Of Fate, god I love that song, it’s amazing . Olivia Newton John was like the epitome of the 80s . The 80s isn’t the 80s without a bit of Olivia Newton John, yeah baby, love a bit of Olivia Newton John, haha .  If you don’t know her already, you should go and check her out .

Dolly Parton is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . She is known for making country music . I absolutely adore her, she is so humble, she’s such a nice person, she shuts down every patronizing interview in style, her voice is amazing, she is just an amazing woman, inside and out . She also did some acting, back in the 1980s, she was an a film called 9 to 5 . She also sang the song for the film . I love the song, 9 to 5, it’s  so catchy and it just makes you wanna get up and dance . Me and my cousin both love it . Whenever I put on the music video, she just sits too close to the screen and like sways herself from side to side and does a dance, she loves Dolly Parton, just you wait until she watches Steel Magnolias, she will flip . Speaking of which, she was also in a film in the 90s, which is called Steel Magnolias. I love that film so much, it holds a special place in my heart, it’s a great film, with such an amazing group of women and Dolly was great in it as well . It always makes me cry, just watched it a few months ago, I think I watched it a few days before Christmas and I was just devestated, it was just so beautiful, it was so well written and to think that it’s actually a true story, it breaks my heart even more, love Steel Magnolias, it’s my go to film if I wanna have a good cry, haha . Dolly Parton is a legend, I just love her so much .

 

Laura Branigan is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . She was an amazing singer, she really brought class into the music indesdury, really love her voice . Sadly, she passed away very young, that is awful, Rip Laura. I was very shocked when I found out that she passed away at a very young age, she had her whole life ahead of her, it’s an absolute shame . But what’s good is that we can still listen to her music and enjoy it and reflect on what an amazing star she was . My favorite songs are Self Control and Gloria . I absolutely love Gloria, I dance to it all the time, me and my cousin just dance around the house, singing it from the top of our lungs, it’s so much fun . I have yet to listen to the rest of her songs . If you haven’t heard any of her music yet, go and check it out, because it’s amazing .

Kim Wilde is another one of my favorite female artists / singers from the 80s . Kim Wilde was a singer in the 80s . She did some really good songs, my most favorite song is Kids In America, it’s just amazing . She did many other songs as well but I just haven’t heard them yet . I’ll be using up my time during the pandemic to listen to her songs, haha . If you haven’t listened to her music yet, you should definetely go and check it out .

Cindi Lauper is another one of my favorite female singers / icons from the 80s . I absolutely love Cindi Lauper, she’s amazing . She made some great music back in the 80s . My most favorite songs are Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Time After Time and The Goonies R Good Enough, those songs are fantastic . My cousin absolutely loves Cindi Lauper, in fact, she loves she so much, that we bought her this pillow for her fourth birthday, it’s like this plush head pillow of a LOL doll, but we tell her that it’s Cindi Lauper and we point at it, and we’re like, ” Christianna, who is that ?” and then she says ” Cindi Laughter ” and then we all laugh, it starts off with Cindi Laughter, then eventually, she got her name right . She loves that pillow, she sleeps with it all the time . But Cindi Lauper is a icon, her fashion style is brilliant, some would see her fashion sense as crazy and strange, but I think it’s great, she really stands out from all the other female artists of that generation . Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is a great song about girl power, without it actually sounding something like a song about radical feminism and man hating, it’s a really fun song, it just makes you wanna get up and sing your lungs out into a hairbrush . Me and my cousin both do that, every single day, it’s a lot of fun . Her and Madonna were like the queens of pop back in the 80s . Another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s is Kylie Minogue . Kylie Minogue was a singer in the 80s . She started when she was young and she’s still doing stuff today . Kylie Minogue made so many great songs in the 80s, I’m not a big fan of her stuff that she makes nowadays, but I do like her old stuff . My favorite songs are Got To Be Certain and I Should Be So Lucky . I love I Should Be So Lucky, it’s so catchy, I love it, it’s one of those songs where you can dance around the living room and your bed room whenever it comes on . My cousin likes that song as well . The music video is everything . Kylie was so pretty in the 80s and she still is, it doesn’t matter if she’s gotten older, she’s still really beautiful . Pat Benatar is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Pat Benatar was a singer in the 80s . She made songs, such as Love Is A Battlefield, We Belong, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Shadows Of The Night and Heartbreaker . She made some really good songs . My absolute favorites are Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Love Is A Battlefield . She was great . If you haven’t listened to her songs yet, go and check it out, it’s amazing .

Cher is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Cher is amazing, she is iconic, she is pretty, she is hilarious, she is everything . Cher was a singer in the 80s, but she started her singing career in the 70s. I remember when she did a duet with Meatloaf . That was wicked . She was in the Dead Ringer for love music video . That one where she was in the bar, amazing, I love that music video, she was amazing when she did that, it was unreal . Cher is an icon for a number of reasons, 1, because she’s a great singer, and 2, because she comes out with the craziest shit sometimes, like I remember that tv interview, when she said her iconic line, that we still sometimes quote today . She was also in some films, she was in Moonstruck, she was in Mermaids, Mask, Silkwood and many more . She’s just amazing . She made some pretty good songs as well, such as Believe, All I Really Want To Do, Don’t Think Twice, Girl Don’t Come and many more . Believe is such an iconic song . It just becomes a running gag in my family, like I just sing it to wind my mum and my sister up, haha, it’s a good song though . Cher is looking good for her age, she’s just up and running, being the most iconic human being she is. If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

Kate Bush is another one of my favorite 70s / 80s female singers . Kate Bush was a singer in the 70s, also made songs in the 80s . Kate Bush was known for being weird and strange and quite scary, like how she did her music and the sort of fashion sense that she had, but I don’t think she’s strange at all, I think it’s good to be weird, you certainly don’t wanna be like everyone else, it’s good to stand out . She made some really good songs, my favorite songs are Wuthering Heights, Babooshka, Cloud Busting and This Woman’s Work . Wuthering Heights is a great song, one of my favorites, the song is so sad, the music video is so weird, like Kate Bush is just dancing in a field, she has this beautiful red dress on, it’s really weird, but really good at the same time . Imagine if there was this little girl, playing in the garden and being generally confused, because she is seeing some random woman, dancing outside, she’ll be like ” Mummy, the creepy lady is dancing in our garden again ”, then the mum would be even more confused and she’ll just try and drag her daughter away and bring her back into the house, because she has nothing to say, she’s speechless . That would be hilarious, that’s the name of my new story, it’s gonna be called ” The Creepy Lady Who Is Dancing In My Back Yard ” that’s what it’s gonna be called, it’s coming very soon, haha . Every time I listen to Kate Bush, all I think of is Alan Partridge, haha, that’s all I think of . Kate Bush is great. She is a little bit vicious sometimes, like I feel like she’s that sort of person who will be calm and have a huge smile on her face, but inside, she’s just ready to beat someone up, haha, like you can just see it sometimes in interviews but she just stays calm and answers the questions in the most sensible way ever she’s awesome .  Speaking of interviews, I watched one, the other day and in the interview, I think that interview came out in 1985, she was talking about what inspired her to make music and where it all started, it was really interesting, but the interview was like a car crash, half way through the interview, the camera crew kept butting in and messing around with her hair and taking of mics and you just see them, standing right in front of the camera, blocking the way, what a nightmare, it’s beyond me how Kate Bush was so calm and patient during all of that, cause I would of just walked out, like seeing the camera crew just interrupting the interview whilst she is talking, it just makes you think ” What the heck ?”, it was terrible. Plus the interviewer was horrible as well, she was so uneducated, she was asking her questions about her personal life, what does she look for in a man, she clearly hasn’t listened to any of Kate’s music, it was a car crash, I don’t even know how she even got hired in the first place, it was terrible . But I have big respect for Kate Bush, the way she carries herself is just amazing . I love her .

Irene Cara is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . I love Irene Cara, she’s amazing . Irene Cara was an amazing female singer from the 80s. She was a great singer. She did What A Feeling and the soundtrack for Fame . What A Feeling was an a 80s film, which is called Flashdance, Flashdance is one of my favorite films from the 80s, I love it so much . I love What A Feeling, it is the best inspirational song I have ever heard . It gives me hope for my future and for me to keep going . She also did the soundtrack for Fame . Fame was a tv series in the 80s, but they also made a film, I actually started watching the tv series and I really like it, I think it’s really good, I’m definetely gonna watch more of it . Irene Cara’s music was like the epitome of the 80s, the 80s isn’t the 80s without artists like Irene Cara . I love Irene Cara, she’s amazing . Joan Jett is another one of my favorite female rock stars from the 80s . Joan Jett is amazing. I have two favorite songs, the first one is I Love Rock And Roll and the second one is Bad Reputation, those are my absolute favorite songs . The music video for I Love Rock And Roll is brilliant, like when she makes an entry, it is legendary . I remember seeing her for the first time and just being like ” Oh my god, who is this woman ?” and I was kind of scared, but her music is amazing . She was in a band, which is called Joan Jett And The Blackhearts and they are brilliant . If you haven’t listened to her music, go and check it out, it’s amazing .

Paula Abdul is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Paula Abdul made some really good songs . My absolute favorite is Straight Up . Paula Abdul was a great singer, I really like her . If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

Tiffany is another one of my favorite female singers . I love her, she’s amazing . She is known for the song, I Think We’re Alone Now . I Think We’re Alone Now is a great song, it’s one of my favorites, my cousin loves it too, like we just do duets . Tiffany is just amazing . She is a great singer, she is so pretty, she is awesome . She also made some other songs, but I just haven’t listened to them yet . The music video for I Think We’re Alone Now is amazing, it’s the one where she is in a mall and then she’s in millions of different places, I just love that music video so much . The way she sings, the way she just enjoys herself whilst performing is just incredible, like she’s just amazing . So the song is amazing, catchy and just really fun in general, but there’s a dark history behind the song, I hate to break it to you . Right at the same time when she made the song, she was stalked by this mad person, this mad person followed her everywhere, day and night, which is really creepy and such a terrible thing to have to go through, I feel bad for Tiffany, I hope she’s ok now . Imagine how it feel if you were stalked by some creepy geezer, you would be terrified, it must of been a very traumatic experience . And what’s worse is that she was married when this happened, she had a partner and she also had a kid, for god sake and the stalker didn’t give up on her, he kept it going . That is absolutely awful, I hope she’s better now . No one should have to go through something like that, ever . So yeah, whenever you hear the song, you have different intentions, you can never see it the same way without thinking about a creepy stalker and the words ” I think we’re alone now, there doesn’t seem to be anyone around ”, you could never be sure if you’re alone, maybe you’re not, there could be a creepy dude round the corner, there’s a double meaning between the lines . But yeah, that’s the story, sorry if I scared you guys, just stating the facts. But yeah no, Tiffany is amazing, her music needs more recognition, cause it’s amazing, she’s amazing . I Think We’re Alone Now Is Great, it’s actually not the original song, I think that Tommy James And The Shondells did the original, I actually never knew that Tiffany did the cover, I think I remember hearing that Tiffany didn’t do the original, but either way, both songs are really good, the original was made in the 60s and Tiffany did a cover in the 80s, the original is really good as well, Tiffany’s version is really fun and catchy, as well as the original. I actually have the record, I bought it from the record shop, it was a very lucky find, I haven’t listened to it yet, but I will very soon. Siouxsie Sioux is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Siouxsie Sioux was quite vicious, like the clothes she wore and her makeup, she was always seen as that really creepy witch woman, but she is bloody brilliant . My dad knew about her way before I did, so he introduced all of this stuff to me . Siouxsie Sioux is brilliant . Just how she approaches music, how she had that place in the music indestury and she kills it every single time . She was in a band called Siouxsie And The Banshees . They actually made some really good music . One of my favorites is Hong Kong Garden . At first, I thought that the song was about a garden in Hong Kong, but then it was actually about a Chinese takeaway in Hong Kong, because when you start hearing the words ” Chicken Chow Mein, Hong Kong garden takeaway ” and all that stuff, you begin to realize that the song isn’t about a garden, it’s about a takeaway, yeah it took me long enough to realize, my dad was talking about the other day, he was saying that it’s so weird that the song is about a takeaway, he always thought that it was about a garden, in Hong Kong . Now every time the song starts playing in the car, we always bring it up and we always laugh about how we all thought it was a song about gardens, haha . Happy House is another one of my favorite songs . Siouxie Sioux was amazing, like whenever you see her on Top Of The Pops, she’s always killing her performance, looking quite vicious and constantly just banging pots and pans, haha, she’s brilliant . I’m so glad my dad started sharing all this great music history with me, it’s a lot of fun . If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, it’s incredible .

Susanna Hoffs is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Susanna Hoffs is from a girl band, which is called, The Bangles . The Bangles is a girl band that was around in the 80s and she is the lead singer . I love The Bangles, it’s one of my favorite 80s bands . Everyone in the band is just absolutely amazing . I love Susanna Hoffs, she’s amazing, she’s a great singer, she has a very beautiful voice, she is so pretty, she is awesome . I just love her a lot . She’s actually looking good for her age . She hasn’t changed much, I guess it’s the youth and the genes, haha . But yeah, Susanna is amazing, if you haven’t listened to The Bangles, I suggest for you to go and check them out, because they are incredible .

Annie Lennox is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Annie Lennox is from a British pop group, which is called Eurythmics . She’s in the group, alongside Dave Stewart . Annie Lennox was really strange, but she’s brilliant at the same time . When Eurythmics made their way into the charts with Sweet Dreams {Are Made Of This}, everyone was really confused and wondered who she was . Every kid was like ” Who is this person, she’s scary, man ”, like everyone had no idea who she was . But can you imagine a kid, who is growing up in 1983 and is discovering Annie Lennox for the first time, you would be scared and very confused at the same time . Sweet Dreams { Are Made Of This} is a great song, the music video is so weird but it’s so amazing, it’s great . Walking On Broken Glass is another one of my favorite songs . But yeah, Annie Lennox is one of my favorite female singers from the 80s and always will be, and that’s a fact .  If you haven’t listened to Eurythmics yet, go and check them out, because they are great .

Kiki Dee is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . I love Kiki Dee, she’s amazing . One of my all time favorite songs is Star, I could listen to that song on repeat and never get sick of it. Star is a great song about stardom, I love it so much . Kiki Dee is a great singer, she’s the best . She made some really good songs . I loved her duet with Elton John, when they came out with Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, I love that song, it’s incredible . I don’t know if she’s still alive or if she’s dead, if she’s still alive, then great, but if she’s dead, then it’s absolutely awful and she will be missed by thousands . Bonnie Tyler is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Bonnie Tyler is incredible . She made some really good songs . My favorite songs are Holding Out For A Hero and Total Eclipse Of The Heart, but I like most of her songs, they are really good . Bonnie Tyler is a great singer, I love her voice . T Pau is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . T Pau is great . She made some really good songs . I haven’t heard half of them, however, there is one song that I absolutely love, it’s called China In Your Hand . That song is amazing, it’s absolute perfection, love that song . Ta Pau is just amazing . I have yet to listen to her other songs, but I promise that I will get round to doing it very soon . T Pau is a great singer . Jane Wiedlin is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . I love Jane Wiedlin, she’s awesome . Jane Wiedlin used to be in a band which was in the 80s and it’s called The Go Go’s . The Go Go’s was an 80s girl band . I’m a big fan of The Go Go’s myself, love their music, it’s amazing . Jane Wiedlin is one of my favorites from that band, I just love her, she’s amazing, she’s got an amazing voice, she is talented, she is so pretty and she’s awesome . She also did some acting for a while . She made an appearance in Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure, she was like that really weird and quiet girl, I think she was Joan Of Arc, her character didn’t get enough screen time, she was in like one, two or three scenes, she didn’t really say anything, but I actually liked her character, like I love that scene where her character just goes into that aerobics class and just takes over and just starts guiding everyone and tells them to like run really fast, that was really funny . I love Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure, it’s a great film . She was in a bunch of films . I just love Jane Wiedlin, she’s amazing, a very talented young woman . She hasn’t changed much, she’s looking good . I really loved it when she did a duet with Russel Mael and Ron Mael from Sparks . Sparks is one of my most favorite pop duos from that time, they are just amazing . In 1983, they came out with Cool Places, Cool Places is a great song, love the music video as well, it’s great . It must of been amazing to get to do a duet with Russel Mael, he’s so cute, I feel like it will be a moment that she will treasure forever . Cool Places is a great song, you have two amazing human beings in one song, I love it so much . If I ever had the same opportunity as her, I would drop everything and go and do it, but I just know that it will never happen . That’s what dreams are for, I guess . Like sometimes, I just look at something like that and then I’m like ” Oh how I wish that that was me, why can’t that have been me ?” like I just wanted to do something like that, it must of been a great experience, like I wanted to be in her shoes, like I just have to keep telling myself ” Christina, stop it, just stop it, she was a singer, she had that opportunity to do a song with him and you don’t, what are you gonna do about it ?” like I just get so jealous, like I want the same thing to happen to me in my life, but I just know something like that wouldn’t happen, because I wasn’t alive in the 80s, so I just wanted to scream into my pillow. As much as I really want to do it, I feel like it wouldn’t really be a good idea, because I will potentially ruin Sparks, like if I was in the band, Sparks, I would just ruin it and it would turn into shit, because I’m not good at singing, I’m not good at dancing, I never had a music career, I’m not famous, it would just be terrible, but it would be really fun if I was good at either of those things, like wouldn’t that just be great ?. So I can’t really do that, which sucks, but I’m really happy for her, she does an amazing job, making sure that we have good music to enjoy and to listen to, and I’m grateful for that . Stevie Nicks is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . I love Stevie Nicks, she’s great . If you’re not familiar with Stevie Nicks, basically, she was from a band which is called, Fleetwood Mac . Fleetwood Mac is great, I love Fleetwood Mac . Go Your Own Way is my favorite song, it’s such a great song . Stevie Nicks is amazing, she has a great voice, she’s so pretty and she’s just amazing . Tina Turner is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . She made some music in the 70s and it went all the way into the 80s . Tina Turner is amazing, like that voice, that raw, the way she owns the stage every time, that iconic perm, absolute icon, what an amazing woman . She is just terrific, there won’t be anyone who can replace Tina Turner, ever, there’s only one Tina Turner and it’s not anyone else, haha . Her music is just amazing, What’s Love Got To Do With It is my absolute favorite, it’s such a good song . Why do I feel like Tina Turner would be that really cool grandma, like she would come out with so much wisdom and so much sass, haha, like she would be so fun, haha, please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this, haha . But yeah, I also love Rolling In The River, it’s a great song . Tina Turner is an absolute icon, just so much talent, she is a very gifted musician . Diana Ross is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . She started her career in the 70s and then she also made music in the 80s, some of my favorite songs that she made are from the 80s, so it sort of counts . I love Diana Ross, she’s another one of those icons, such an amazing singer . My favorite songs are I’m Coming Out, Chain Reaction and Inside Out . Those songs are just amazing . My mum loves Diana Ross, she’s the one who introduced me to her and I’m grateful for that . If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s amazing .

Donna Summer is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Donna Summer is great . She made some really good songs, I Feel Love is a great song, most of her songs are really good . Janet Jackson is another one of my favorite female singers / songwriters from the 80s . Janet Jackson is awesome, such a legend, honestly . She is Michael Jackson’s sister, both of them are amazingly talented and are legends, honestly, I guess it runs in the family, everyone who is in the Jackson Family are talented, haha . Janet Jackson is an icon, she just owns the stage and does her thing, her voice is incredible, she’s just amazing . She’s been through so much, like with what happened with Michael Jackson, I just feel deeply sorry for her, like imagine almost everyone turning their backs on your family member, for something that probably didn’t even happen, it’s terrible, I hope she’s getting on ok . Michael Jackson will always go down in history . Janet Jackson made some really good music. If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

Patricia Paay is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . She made some really good songs . Premiere is one of my all time favorites, her music is just really slow and chilled, but that’s why I like it, sometimes, you’re not up for highly energetic dance music, sometimes you just want to hear something very calming and slow . I’m starting to really like her music . If you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

Carly Simon is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Carly Simon is so underrated, like her music is amazing . I love Carly Simon, she’s awesome . My favorite songs are Why, Two Looking At One, Nobody Does It Better and Coming Around Again. She has an amazing voice, I love her voice, she’s a great singer . She also did the theme song for the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me . I’m a really big fan of the old James Bond trilogy, like all the Roger Moores, The Sean Connery’s, Roger Moore is my favorite Bond, hands down . Nobody Does It Better is an amazing James Bond song, she really killed it, it’s just beautiful . She makes really good music, if you haven’t listened to her music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

Aneka is another one of my favorite female singers from the 80s . Aneka isn’t really her name, her real name is Mary Sanderman, but Aneka is probably her stage name . I absolutely love Aneka, she’s amazing . One of my absolute favorite songs is Japanese Boy, that song came out in 1981 and I first heard it on Top Of The Pops, and I completely fell in love with the song . The song is so beautiful, I love it, it’s a great song . Seeing her on Top Of The Pops, with her in that Kimono and that red and black hair with a needle sticking out of it, I was like ” Who is this woman ?” and then there were a bunch of girls dancing with umbrellas, I think they were Legs and Co and they were all like dancing with umbrellas, I just loved it a lot . Put Out The Light is another really good song, her voice is so gentle and beautiful, she made some really good songs . I love her, she’s brilliant . {My favorite male singers from the 80s}

One of my favorite male singers from the 80s is Paul Young . I absolutely love Paul Young, he has such a gorgeous voice . Paul Young made some really good songs. One of my favorite songs is Common People, Common People is a great song, it’s catchy, it’s amazing . I also really love Every Time You Go Away, oh my god, that song is incredible, every time I hear that song, it reminds me of Planes Trains And Automobiles, it’s one of my most favorite thanksgiving films, me and my family both love it, so yeah, Paul Young did the original, it’s a great song . Paul Young is just an amazing singer . If you haven’t listened to his music yet, go and check it out, it’s really good .

Simon Le Bon is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Simon Le Bon is the lead singer in the band, Duran Duran . Duran Duran is one of my favorite bands from the 80s, their music is incredible . Simon Le Bon is a great singer . Duran Duran wouldn’t be the same without him . Howard Jones is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Howard Jones is amazing . He did some really good songs . My favorite songs are New Song and Things Can Only Get Better . New Song is great, I remember seeing him on Top Of The Pops, and he was playing the keyboard and there was this guy who was a mime or something and he had like chains all over him, that was so weird . Howard Jones is one of my favorite male singers from that time . And he’s so adorable, don’t you just wanna cuddle him ?, haha, he’s so cute . But yeah, he made some really good songs . Morten Harket is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Morten Harket is the lead singer in the band, Ah Ha . Ah Ha is one of my favorite 80s bands, they made some really good songs . Morten Harket is a great singer, he is amazing and perfect in every single way. He is also really cute, like he’s so handsome and he has a beautiful voice, what more could you want ?. Nick Heyward is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Nick Heyward is from a band called Haircut One Hundred . Haircut One Hundred was a boy band in the 80s . He is the lead singer . Nick Heyward is amazing, I just love his voice . Haircut One Hundred is one of my favorite bands from the 80s, their music is great . Each song just has a lot of joy and it completely brings me joy every time I listen to their music . But yeah, I love Nick Heyward, he was so cute . He was in the band for a little while, then I think he went solo, started singing his own songs . One of his songs that I really love is Whistle Down The Wind, it is absolutely brilliant, it’s one of my all time favorite songs . I have a crush on Nick Heyward, it’s been like that for a while now, ever since I discovered him, I was crazy about him, he is a really good singer . Nik Kershaw is another one of my male singers and artists from the 80s . He made some really good songs . Wouldn’t It Be Good and I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me are my favorite songs, they’re just so good . Nik Kershaw is great . Limahl is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Limahl was from a band called Kajagoogoo . Kajagoogoo was a band in the 80s . Their music is really good . Too Shy is one of my favorites, it’s such a good song . After being in the band for a little while, he started doing his own songs. In 1984, He came out with Never ending Story, it was a soundtrack for a film that also came out in 1984, it’s called Never Ending Story, I have never seen it before but I will watch it very soon . But yeah, Limahl is great . If you haven’t listened to Kajagoogoo or any of his songs, then go and check them out, because it’s really good .

Shakin Stevens is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Some of his songs are really good . Every time he appeared on Top Of The Pops, we used to go like ” Ay, it’s Shaky ” haha, it’s good old shaky, with his dance moves and Grease Lightning, haha . But jokes aside, his songs are really good . Green Door is really good, there was also another song but I totally forgot what it was called, it’s just been a blur, can’t remember anything, haha, but yeah, Green Door is a good song, Merry Christmas Everyone is a great Christmas song, really gets you into the Christmas spirit, I haven’t heard any of his other songs yet . Lionel Richie is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . He made some really good songs . My mum really likes him, I grew up, listening to him, because my mum and stuff, cause she’s always playing his music in the kitchen. His music is really good . One of my all time favorite songs is Dancing On The Ceiling . I could listen to the song on repeat and not get tired of it, it’s a great song, it’s pure 80s . Hello is also a good song, not gonna lie, it’s always the butt of the joke, like even I take the piss sometimes and I do it to joke around, like I just go up to someone and say ” Hello, is it me you’re looking for ?”, and I’d be lucky enough if someone actually gets the reference and I don’t just walk the streets with embarrassment, but jokes aside, it’s actually a really good song . All Night Long is also a really song, most of his music is really good . He’s a really good singer, his voice is great . Robert Smith is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Robert Smith is from a band, which is called The Cure . He is the lead singer in The Cure . The Cure is one of my favorite bands from the 80s, their music is incredible . Robert Smith looked quite demented back then, and he still looks quite demented now, he hasn’t changed much, he got older a bit, but apart from that, he hasn’t really changed . Robert Smith is great, The Cure wouldn’t be The Cure without Robert Smith . The Cure is great . I’m grateful that my sister got me into them, and my dad also, I’ll thank both of them for doing such a great job for getting me onto this spectrum, it’s just brilliant . David Bowie is another one of my favorite male singers / artists from the 70s and 80s . David Bowie is an absolute legend, he’s great, I love him . He was the Star man and Ziggy Stardust . When David Bowie started off his career in the early 70s, he had his signiture look, all that makeup and that crazy outfit, full of colors . When everyone saw him for the first time, they were like ” Who is this geezer ?” you would think that there were new species that appeared on the planet, it was that crazy . David Bowie made some really good songs . My favorite songs are Heroes, Space Oddity, China Girl, Modern Love, Fashion, Ashes To Ashes, Rebel Rebel, The Man Who Sold The World, Let’s Dance, The Man From Mars and Under Pressure . He made great music . Ashes To Ashes is a great song, the music video is so weird but it’s great . Like the features and the themes in the music video are so weird, like the black skies, everyone’s all dressed up in those weird clothes, David Bowie’s looking like a demented version of William Shakespeare or like the boogey man who is high on drugs or something, then the next minute, he’s sitting in some dark room, sitting in the corner, on the floor, it was such a weird weird music video, but I love it, it’s so iconic . Fashion is a great song as well. The music video is good as well . We also get to see David Bowie do that dance move, like the one where he bends down and touches the floor with his hand, that thing is absolutely brilliant, if he made it up himself, he’s a genius . We used to do that thing every Friday, we used to do that dance move to honor David Bowie, like we used to play the song and then we used to do that thing, we don’t do it anymore but we used to, we’re gonna bring it back, we gotta do it, gotta do it for Bowie, haha . He also did that dance in the Ashes To Ashes music video, he made a promise to bring it back, haha, brilliant . David Bowie was just class, he was a great man, he was a legend . He had a great sense of humor, he answered every question with class in every interview, even though sometimes he would get a really idiotic host, he would always shut it down in style, he could smell someone’s BS from a mile away, he’s great .  We also went to a David Bowie art excibition, that was really good . So many incredible and interesting portraits and pieces of art . He collected some amazing art, let me tell you that . It was nice to see it with my own eyes . That was a great day, really enjoyed that . Other then the music, he also did some acting for a little while . He was in Labyrinth, Labyrinth was a strange film, it was really good though. David Bowie was great in that, he was also in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, he was also in Elephant Man, He was also in Basqiat, the list just goes on .

Sadily, David Bowie passed away in 2016, he wasn’t well, he was really ill . Which is an absolute shame, a legend that was taken away from us too soon, his music will live on forever and we could always remember on what a legend he was, he will always be Ziggy Stardust in my eyes . Prince is another one of my favorite male singers / artists from the 80s . Prince is a legend, he is a proper legend and his music is amazing . Purple Rain is a great song, When Doves Cry is also a great song, as well as Raspberry Beret . Raspberry Beret just reminds me of my old primary school, a bunch of my friends were told to sing this in a school assembly, it’s a load of nostalgia . So yeah, Raspberry Beret is a great song, Paisley Park is also pretty good as well . Love the song, love Raspberry Beret . He made some really good songs, he is a legend, he was the king of the 80s, nah, he wasn’t the king of the 80s, he was the prince of the 80s, haha, that’s more like it, the clue is in the name . Purple Rain is a legendary song, they also made a film which was called Purple Rain, that film came out in the 80s . I haven’t seen it but it looks really good, so I’m gonna watch it, one of these days . Prince is a legend and he always will be . Unfortunatly, Prince passed away in 2016, I think he died from a drug overdose, which is absolutely awful, it’s absolutely terrible what drugs can do to a person, it effects them in so many ways, he was a legend that died too soon, but he will always be remembered by his music . Brian Ferry is another one of my favorite male singers from the 70s and 80s . Brian Ferry is from a glam rock band which is called Roxy Music . Roxy Music was a band in the 70s and 80s . They were originally a band in the 70s but they also made music in the 80s . Roxy Music is absolutely brilliant . They made some great music . Brian Ferry is the lead singer in the band . He looks demented, haha . Brian Ferry is a great singer, he really made Roxy Music for what it is today . Roxy Music isn’t Roxy Music without Brian Ferry, there’s no question about it . He still sounds the same after many years, that’s quite amazing, actually . Not many musicians can do that . But yeah, Roxy Music is great, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s incredible .

Michael Jackson is another one of my favorite male singers / artists from the 80s . Michael Jackson is an absolute legend . I don’t care who you are, he is a legend . Michael Jackson is a star . When he was younger, in the 70s, he used to be in a band, which was called Jackson Five . Jackson Five is an amazing pop group . He was in the group with his brothers, they both formed a band together . Just an amazing bunch of talented kids . They were absolutely amazing . Michael Jackson’s moon walk will never not be iconic, it’s legendary . Everyone who discovers him for the first time, will be absolutely fascinated and amazed by it all . His music is brilliant . My favorite songs are Bad, Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It and many more . Smooth Criminal is a great song, yet it is the butt of the joke. I always keep stumbling across these memes on You Tube, they are absolutely genius, by the way, but it’s always a meme, but jokes aside, the song is great . Like it’s that one meme, where it goes ” Annie, are you okay ?, are you Okay, Annie ?” and it’s a really good meme, but the song by itself, is great . I remember hearing about that scandal that Michael Jackson was involved in . I think he was accused of sexually abusing these kids, that was in 1993, . I remember being quite shocked, but let me let in on a little secret, between you and I, I think it’s not real . I feel like he didn’t do it, Michael Jackson was innocent, I don’t like it when rumors have been spreading around and saying that he did it . It’s kinda like, ” Oh yeah, Michael Jackson is dead now, we can spread rumors and spread hate about him and what he’s done ” it’s absolutely appalling . I have seen the documentary where they were talking about the issue and  it just never sat well with me, I feel like he didn’t do it, he would never do something like that . But I don’t know, there’s no evidence saying that he did or he didn’t, I’m just sharing my opinion and what I make of this whole thing . You can never tell if it’s made up for attention for the victim’s sake or if it’s real, but we’ll never know . I never usually share my opinions on this sort of thing because there are some people out there who will take advantage, I never share my opinions on politics and stuff like that, because people will always have something to say . But I don’t really care about what they think, I’m gonna say what’s on my mind, their opinions don’t matter . But yeah, Michael Jackson is an absolute legend and always will be . Unfortunatly, he passed away a long time ago, so it’s a real shame but we have his music, so we can enjoy it . If you haven’t listened to his music yet, go and check it out, because it’s amazing .

George Michael is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . George Michael used to be in a pop group, which is called, Wham . I love Wham, it’s brilliant . He was in the group with his friend, Andrew Ridgeley. Both of them are just amazing . I also mentioned Wham on this post, just in case you didn’t notice.  My mum had a crush on George Michael when she was younger, I can’t blame her though, he is very cute . George Michael came out as gay in the 80s . I always thought that he was straight, but it was a surprise when I found out . There were clues, I guess . But it doesn’t matter, gay or straight, it doesn’t matter, he is amazing for who he is . I just love his voice, it’s amazing . That Choose Life t shirt will always be iconic . I kept seeing it everywhere and all over the internet, and I was wondering what it was, then I found out that it was from Wham, it’s way more clearer now, now that I know that it’s from Wham . Aside from Wham, he also made some other great songs, such as Careless Whisperer, Freedom, he made some other ones too, but I just haven’t heard them yet, but Freedom and Careless Whisperer are two great songs . He’s also Greek, like I find it so cool because I am Greek too, like I know that there are hundreds of people who are Greek, but I find it special, ok ?, it’s brilliant, haha . Unfortunatly, George Michael passed away in 2016, he died peacefully in his sleep, it was a shock to find out that he died, I think he died from heart and liver disease, which is absolutely horrible. George Michael will always be remembered for his great work . But yeah, his music is great, if you haven’t listened to it, go and check it out, cause it’s amazing .

Rick Astley is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . It’s good old Rick Astley, coming back to pull a spell on us, to keep us Rick Rolling throughout the pandemic . Let’s be honest here, just be honest with me, we’ve all been Rick Rolled before, whenever we listen to Never Gonna Give You Up, or if we just suddenly stumble across a meme on You Tube, we all just get Rick Rolled, haha, but I’m not complaining, Never Gonna Give You Up Is a really catchy song and we can’t stop listening to it, haha . Rick Astley is a very charming young man, but his voice though, haha, it sounds like his trying to sound like a black man, not a big fan of his voice, to be honest, it’s like a really drunk Elvis, but he’s alright, I think that’s just how his voice is, you can’t really do much about it . Throughout the 80s, his music started sounding like Stock Aitken Waterman, like you can just hear it, that’s when it all started coming in and Stock Aitken Waterman started doing deals with singers and making their music sound like all that dance crap, but his earlier music is great . Together Forever is another good song, even though it sounds like all that Stock Aitken Waterman stuff, like you can hear it, like when it goes ” Da na na, together forever, da da ”, yeah, you can start to hear it . But apart from that, his music is quite good, you can’t go wrong with a bit of Rick Astley, you really can’t . My sister actually met him, yeah, it’s crazy . At her university, she was in this radio thing, where she was doing these radio shows and she would do it with a bunch of other students and then she met him, he suddenly turned up, I think he was waiting to pick up his niece, cause she also went there and then he went on a rant, he started ranting about the parking and stuff and he was like ” Bloody hell, you’ve got to do something about this ”, and my sister was like ” Ok, I don’t know, I’m just a student here, I’m not in charge ”, it was so funny, I can’t believe she met him, it was such a crazy day, she still can’t believe that she met him, it was a really funny story . But yeah, Never Gonna Give You Up is a good song, it’s the one thing that Rick Rolls us and seeing Rick Astley doing that bloody dance, it’s bound to get us Rick Rolling, haha . My mum likes him, she’s not a big fan of his later stuff, but she likes some of his music . If you haven’t listened to his music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s good .

Rick Springfield is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . His music is actually really good, not gonna lie . Jessie’s Girl is one of my personal favorites, it’s so iconic, it’s actually a really good song, it’s one of those songs that will get stuck in your head. Love Is alright Tonite is another one of my favorite songs . His has done many other songs, I just haven’t got round to listening to them yet, but I will very soon . But yeah, Rick Springfield is pretty good, if you haven’t listened to his music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

Bryan Adams is another one of my favorite singers / artists from the 80s . Bryan Adams made some really good songs . I am totally in love with Summer Of 69, it is such a great song . Reckless is a great album, I was listening to it the other day, it’s really good . If you haven’t listened to his music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s really good .

Boy George is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . Boy George was from a band called Culture Club, Culture Club is one of my favorite bands from that time, their music is really good . In case you get slightly confused whether Boy George is a woman or a man, he is a man, he just wears makeup and fluorescent outfits because that’s the look that he was going for in the 80s, just to be quite clear . Boy George is great, I wouldn’t say that he’s the best singer in the whole wide world, because I’ll just look silly if I said that, because there are so many amazing singers that have more range, per say, but Boy George has a really nice voice, so I’m gonna have to give it to him . Culture Club is great, if you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it out, cause it’s amazing .

David Sylvian is another one of my favorite male singers from the 80s . David Sylvian was from a  band which was called Japan . Japan is great, I love Japan, they made some really good music . They started off in the 70s and it went all the way into the 80s . David Sylvian was really strange, he would wear all this makeup and wear some really weird clothes, it was really weird, but it’s absolutely brilliant, I love him, he’s great . I love his voice, it’s really creepy and it gives the song a really frightening aroma, his voice would give you goosebumps and it gives you chills, it’s amazing . Ghosts is a great song, as well as Boys and Life In Tokyo, those are some really good songs . Japan is great . Adam Ant is another one of my favorite male singers / artists from the 80s . Adam Ant was from a band called Adam And The Ants . He was the lead singer . Adam And The Ants is one of my favorite bands from the 80s . Certainly a very obscure one, but they’re music is absolutely brilliant . They made so many great songs . I used to be a bit terrified when I saw him for the first time, like Stand and Deliver was one of the first ones I have heard, then it went on Prince Charming and so on, but Adam Ant wore like this weird makeup, like that white lines going across his face, that was a look that he was going for at the time . Adam Ant is great . His voice is really good and overall, he’s just a very chilled and genuine person. If you haven’t listened to their music yet, go and check it, cause it’s really good .

Christopher Cross is another one of my favorite male singers and artists from the 80s . Christopher Cross is great. He makes this really slow kind of music, like it’s nothing that’s too fast, it’s very slow paced, but his music his great, his voice is amazing. Best That You Can Do is a great song, I love it a lot, it’s one of my absolute favorites. I have yet to discover the rest of his music, but Best That You Can Do is my first favorite and it always will be. {My favorite 80s icons, starting with the female icons, models and actresses}

The first female celebrity icon from the 80s is Molly Ringwald . What can I say about Molly Ringwald, um, she’s absolutely awesome . I love Molly Ringwald, she is an absolute icon . She is the face of the 80s, like the 80s isn’t the 80s without Molly Ringwald, she’s amazing, love a bit of Molly Ringwald . She is in almost every John Hughes movie, like she was in The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles . The Breakfast Club is one of my favorite 80s films, she was in that as well . She plays the roll of Claire Standish . I loved her in The Breakfast Club, I actually liked her character, she came from a rich family and she was the popular girl, sort of like the prom queen sort of girl and Judd Nelson’s character { John Bender}, keeps constantly having a dig at her, just because she was spoiled and that he didn’t have the sort of privilage that she had, so it causes him to keep hating on her . So her character was really self entitled and she was acting like she was perfect and that everyone loved her at school, but behind all of that, there is just a normal, average teenager who goes through the same problems as everyone else, which I think is very good, since no one in this world is one sided, we are all human, at the end of the day . So yeah, I love The Breakfast Club, it’s a great 80s classic . Molly Ringwald is an absolute icon . How could she dance like that, like in The Breakfast Club, there’s that scene where everyone gets high on weed and they all just go crazy and they start dancing around the library, I love that scene so much, I still go back and watch it, I think I’ve watched that scene about 100 times now, it’s just so good, it’s absolutely perfect . But Claire has got some moves, like I wish I could dance like that, how can she move her body like that, she’s a great dancer . Molly Ringwald is a great actress, she is so pretty, she is just amazing . Usually, I get all of this stuff from my dad, but this time, I taught myself about Molly Ringwald and I am watching all the films that she is in, it’s all self taught, all though my dad introduced most of the 80s nostalgia and stuff to me, such as all of the amazing actors and actresses of that time, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eddie Murphy, Kurt Russel, Harrison Ford, John Candy and Steve Martin, Ralph Macchio, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase and all the amazing actresses. and he got me to where I am now, and I’m grateful for that, most of the films from the 80s shaped me and made me the person I am today, the 80s had the best music and movies, without a doubt . But yeah, Molly Ringwald is amazing, if you haven’t seen any of her films, you should go and watch them, cause they’re just amazing .

Ally Sheedy is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . She has starred in many films, such as The Breakfast Club, St Elmo’s Fire, War Games, Oxford Blues, Short Circuit and many more . I know her from two films, I know her from The Breakfast Club and St Elmo’s Fire, I love The Breakfast Club and I also love St Elmo’s Fire, they are both amazing, 80s classics, for sure . I loved her in The Breakfast Club, she played the role of Allison Reynolds . Allison was the basket case, she was the really weird goth girl . I loved her character, especially that scene where everyone’s eating their lunch and Allison had this strange lunch, where she had Captain Crunch cereal sandwich and she put pixie sticks in it and everyone generally just looks disgusted, like how they all turn around and look at her, it was such perfect timing, haha, I love that scene so much . Ally Sheedy is amazing, she is a great actress, the way how she portrayed her character in The Breakfast Club was phenomenal, like she made me laugh at times but she also made me feel generally sad, because of her home life, and how her parents would just neglect her, it’s a very touching subject to touch up on, I think Ally Sheedy did an amazing job . But yeah, I love Ally Sheedy, she was the pinnacle of the 80s, just like Molly Ringwald, she is iconic . If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, I recommend you to watch them cause they’re amazing .

 

 

Demi Moore is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Demi Moore has starred in many films, such as St Elmo’s Fire, Blame It On Rio, One Crazy Summer, Wisdom and many more . I know her from St Elmo’s Fire. St Elmo’s Fire is one of my all time favorite 80s movies, it’s just amazing, Demi Moore was amazing in that film . She was also in the film, Ghost, but that was a film that came out in the 90s, it’s still good though, it’s a great film, Patrick Swayze was incredible in it, he’s a great actor, he’s probably more talented then we give him credit for . Demi Moore is a great actress, she’s amazing . Like the way how she acts, her raspy voice, she’s just great . Demi Moore plays the role of Jules in St Elmo’s Fire, she portrayed her character so well . If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them, cause they’re really good .

Diane Lane is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . I love Diane Lane, she’s awesome . She has starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Streets Of Fire, The Big Town, The Cotton Club and many more . I know her from The Outsiders. She plays the role of Cherry Vallance, she is Bob’s girl friend . She is most likeable out of the socias, even though she can be very dislikable at times, like when she refused to go and see Johnny in the hospital after he got injured in the church fire incident, that was quite bitchy of her, not gonna lie . I like Marcia more, at least she’s likeable, I don’t like Cherry that much . I do like Cherry and Dally’s chemistry though, like when they’re in the drive in and Dallas is hitting on her and then he falls off his chair, I love that scene a lot . Diane Lane is a great actress and she is so pretty, how can someone look that beautiful, haha . She was also in Rumble Fish, but I haven’t seen it yet, soley because it’s an 18, it’s quite violent, ect, ect, but I will watch it when I’m older, cause it looks really good . Cherry Vallance is Diane Lane’s most iconic role, in my opinion, she was great in The Outsiders, like I mainly know her because of her role of Cherry Vallance, like whenever I see her on the tv, I’m like ” Cherry, what are you doing on tv ?”, it’s always like that, I will always see Diane Lane as Cherry and no one else, that’s just how it’s gonna be from now on, haha . But yeah, I love Diane Lane, she’s amazing, a wonderful actress, she’s got a lot of class when it comes to acting . If you haven’t seen her in any of the films that she was in, go and watch them, because they’re really good .

Michelle Pfeiffer is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Michelle Pfeiffer has starred in quite a few films, such as Scarface, Grease 2, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Married To The Mob, Into The Night and many more . I know her from Grease 2, she plays the role of Stephanie . Michelle Pfeiffer was really good in that film . I love Grease 2, I love the first one as well, I love both of them . Grease 2 seems to get a lot of hate, I know it has different characters and a different storyline, but the songs were really good, I feel like the second one has better songs, but the first one has good songs as well, so I can’t choose which one is better . Love a bit of John Travolta so I would choose the original over the second one, but they are both great in their own ways, each film has it’s key moments . She was also in Scarface, my dad and my brother loves that film, but I can’t watch it cause it’s quite violent, but when I’m an adult, I’m gonna watch it, it looks really good . I love Michelle Pfeiffer, she’s great . If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them cause they’re really good .

 

Brook Shields is another one of my favorite female models / icons from the 80s . Brook Shields is amazing, I love her so much . Brook Shields was a model at the age of 17, she started her modelling career at the age of 11 months old, which is crazy, 11 months old is so young . She has starred in a few films as well, she was in The Blue Lagoon, Pretty Baby, Endless Love, The Diamond Trap and many more . I have never seen any of the films that she was in, but I discovered her and I had instant respect for her, especially after everything that she went through, big respect . After finding out that she was sexualized at 14, I was disgusted, I can’t be believe that she had to go through that, no kid or 14 year old should have to go through that, no matter what age you are, no one should have to go through that, it’s disgusting . She was treated as a sex object at a very young age, I can’t imagine how terrible it must of been for her, she didn’t have a proper childhood, when she could of enjoyed her child hood, she was doing modelling, I can’t imagine how tough it must have been. I think it’s opened up a conversation on the sexualization of young children Her mum is  partly to blame for this whole thing, because she pushed her to do modelling at such a very young age, words cannot explain how much I feel sorry for Brook, she’s been through so much, she probably still has trauma up until now, I can’t blame her, I would be traumatized as well if I was in that position, I just really hope that she’s ok now, and I hope that whoever was involved in Brook’s sexualization was jailed for pedophillia . I remember that whole thing about the Calvin Clein commercials, they were making her say all these sexual references just for the camera, I think it went like ” Do you know what comes first between me and my Calvin’s ?, absolutely nothing ”, that was absolutely disgusting and the fact that Brook Shields just was quite casual about it and she didn’t lash out or anything, that just shows on how remarkable she is. The way she carries herself is just amazing, she is so out spoken and so down to earth, she’s just amazing . I just love Brook Shields, I have so much respect for her . If you haven’t seen any of her films that she was in, go and check them out, cause they’re really good .

Winona Ryder is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . I love Winona Ryder, she’s amazing . She was in a film from the 80s and then she also starred in some films from the 90s . She was in Heathers, I’ve never seen Heathers, but I’m gonna watch it, one day . Everybody keeps raving about how iconic Heathers is and not gonna lie, it’s making me want to watch it . She was also in Beetlejuice, I love Beetlejuice, it’s a great film, it’s so funny . She was great in Beetlejuice . Winona Ryder is such an amazing actress, she’s an icon .  And now she’s Joyce Byers in Stranger Things, our beloved Joyce Byers, our favorite mother, right alongside Steve, haha. But yeah, Winona plays the role of Joyce in Stranger Things, I love Stranger Things, it’s my most favorite show and I managed to get my family hooked on it, now they love it just as much as I do . She plays Will’s mum and she just goes mad and really deranged throughout season 1 and season 2, right after her son goes missing, so yeah, Winona Ryder did a great job in playing the role of Joyce Byers, no other actress can pull it off the same way as her . If you seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them, cause they’re really good .

Jennifer Grey is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Jennifer Grey has starred in a quite a few films, such as Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Red Dawn . She played the role of Baby Houseman in Dirty Dancing, Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite films, it’s amazing, I love it so much, love Dirty Dancing, it’s an 80s classic, for sure . She was also in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Jennifer plays the role of Ferris’s sister, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is another one of my favorite 80s movies, it’s so good . Jennifer Grey is a great actress, a very good actress, I love her . If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them because they are really good .

Lori Singer is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Lori Singer has starred in quite a few films, such as Footloose, The Man With The Red Shoe, The Falcon And The Snowman, Trouble In The Wind, Summer Heat, Made In USA , Trouble In Mind, Born Beautiful and Warlock . I know her from Footloose, she plays the role of Ariel . Footloose is one of my all time favorite 80s films, it just makes me happy, I love Footloose, it’s a great film . Lori Singer is also a musician and a singer, as well as an actress, which is really impressive, considering that she can do two things at once .  She’s just amazing, she’s a great actress . Jane Fonda is another one of my favorite female icons from the 80s . In the 80s, Jane Fonda was known as the workout lady, she did these aerobic classes for women who were looking to get in shape . I think she’s amazing, she was an amazing role model for young women in the 80s, a great woman for younger women to look up to . Jane Fonda’s aerobic classes are so iconic, like aerobic classes were a big hit in the 80s, like wherever you go, you would see aerobics and fitness classes, they had quite a lot of them in shopping malls . 80s aerobics sessions are so iconic, like whenever I think of the 80s, I think of like neon and flouresant rainbow colored leotards and really colorful leg warmers, like that’s all I think of, haha . I’ve watched some of her workout videos on You Tube, I’ve never copied any of them, workout wise, but I have seen some of them, they’re really good, there was a beginners one, which didn’t look like beginners, everyone looked like they have done it before and they were going quite hard core, I think if you tried that one for the first time, you will die, haha, because it looks so draining, but I guess that’s how things were back in the 80s, go big or go home, I guess, haha . Jane Fonda wasn’t only the workout lady, she was also an actress, she starred in a few films, she was in 9 to 5. I never knew she did acting . Jane Fonda is amazing, I love her . Phoebe Cates is another one of my favorite actresses / female icons from the 80s . Phoebe Cates has starred in many films, such as Gremlins, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Shag, Date With An Angel, Bright Lights, Big City, Heart Of Dixie, Baby Sister and Lace II . I haven’t seen most of the films that she was in, but I think I watched Gremlins, Gremlins is a great horror film . Fast Times At Ridgemont High is meant to be a really good 80s movie, everyone keeps raving about how it’s an 80s classic, but I just haven’t seen it, I really wanna watch it, it looks really good, I’m really missing out here, I’ve seen most of the 80s classics, like The Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, Uncle Buck, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Flash Dance, Footloose, St Elmo’s Fire, The Karate Kid and some other ones, but I just haven’t seen Fast Times At Ridgemont High, but I will watch it, one day . I just love Phoebe Cates, she’s awesome, she’s like the pinnacle of the 80s . There’s one scene that I have watched from Fast Times At Ridgemont High and it’s the one where Phoebe’s character is in that red swim suit and she gets out of the pool, that scene is iconic, honestly, no one can look that hot whilst getting out of a swimming pool, like what the heck, haha . Phoebe Cates is just amazing, I’m sure that she’s an amazing actress, I just haven’t seen any of her films, she’s just on here for the sake of it, I know that some of you like her, so there you go, haha .

 

Elizabeth Shue is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Elizabeth Shue has starred in quite a few films, such as The Karate Kid, Adventures In Babysitting, Cocktail, Back To The Future II and Mysterious Skin . I love Elizabeth Shue, she’s great, she’s a really good actress . She was also in The Karate Kid, she plays the role of Alli Mills . She played the role really well. There’s only one thing that really bothers me, there’s that whole thing where she doubted that Ralph Macchio could be the Karate Kid, like she thought that he couldn’t take on the role and also do karate, which I think is complete bullshit, Ralph Macchio as the Karate Kid is awesome, he is my favorite Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio did a great job in portraying Daniel Larusso, so I don’t know why she kept saying that he couldn’t do it, Ralph was amazing as Daniel Larusso, no one else could top him . Ralph Macchio was the best Karate Kid, Hilary Swank was kind of ok and I didn’t like the one with Jaden Smith, He can’t act one bit, but I like Jackie Chan though, he’s great . But yeah, I like Elizabeth, she’s a good actress .  If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them, cause they’re really good .

Alyssa Milano is another one of my favorite female icons from the 80s . Alyssa Milano was in the tv show in the 80s, which is called, Who’s The Boss. I’ve never seen it before but it’s supposed to be really good . I just love Alyssa Milano, she’s amazing, she’s so pretty, oh my god . What an icon .  She is rocking those looks, I’m telling you . Yeah, I just love her, she’s definetely one of my favorite icons from the 80s . I’m really teaching myself about all these singers, models and icons from the 80s and I’m really enjoying it . Knowing this much, especially as a 14 year old, I’m pretty proud of myself.

Another one of my favorite female models from the 80s is Cindi Crawford . Cindi Crawford is just amazing, I love her . She’s a great model, she’s so beautiful, she’s just so bold, she’s amazing . I have so many favorite models from that decade but Cindi Crawford is definetly one of them, she’s just amazing . I love all of her magazine covers, they are so colorful, all of her outfits are amazing and so stylish, she’s just great .

Courtney Cox is another one of my favorite models, icons and actresses from the 80s . Courtney Cox has starred in a few tv shows, such as Family Ties, Cougar Town, Misfits Of Science, Dirt and many more . She was also in Friends . Oh my god, I love Friends, it’s one of my favorite tv shows . Friends was a tv show that came out in the 90s, it’s really good . She plays the role of Monica Geller, who is Ross’s sister . She’s a great character, I love Monica . I just love Courtney Cox, she’s amazing . If you haven’t seen Friends or any of the other tv shows that she was in, go and watch them, cause they’re really good .

Samantha Fox is another one of my favorite female icons from the 80s . I love Samantha Fox, she’s amazing . She’s a great singer, she’s so pretty as well. Loving the 80s hairstyle, that perm, oh my goodness, just amazing, But yeah, I love her .

Gia Carangi is another one of my favorite female models from the 80s . She is great, I love her, she’s so pretty and she’s so bold, she’s just amazing .

Jennifer Beales is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . I love Jennifer Beales, she’s amazing . She has starred in a few films, such as Flash Dance, The Bride, Vampire’s Kiss, Split Decisions and The Gamble . I know her from Flash Dance, she plays the role of Alex Owens, who is a welder by day and a stripper by night . Flash Dance is one of my all time favorite 80s movies, it’s just amazing, the story is great, Jennifer’s character truly believed that she could be a dancer and she worked and worked until she finally got there in the end, it’s just a great film . Her dance routine in iconic, well both of them are, her warm up at the beginning of the film and her routine at the end of the film . like that one where she’s dancing to the song ” Maniac ” by Michael Sembello, I love that song, I’ve been listening to it, ever since I’ve watched the film . What A Feeling is a great song, Irene Cara is amazing, that song is so inspirational and it motervates you to keep doing what you’re doing because you never know where you’ll end up one day . When I watched the film, I was like ” Wow, how can she dance like that ?, she’s so flexible ”, And I was amazed, until I found out that it wasn’t Jennifer who was dancing, it was like these four or five other stunt doubles, which was a complete shock, because I totally thought that it was her who was doing all of that, turns out, I was wrong . I guess everyone thought the same. But whatever it is, it’s really cool, Richard ” Crazy Legs ” Colon performed the break dancing act, then I think some other woman did the rest, but big props to them, cause they were the ones who brought us this amazing scene from the film . I just love Jennifer Beales, she’s amazing, she’s so pretty, she hasn’t changed much, she’s looking good . Flash Dance makes me so happy, ever since I’ve watched it, I have been loving dance so much and I always make an attempt to copy her warm up and dance routine, but I always fail, haha, it’s so much fun though . Jennifer Beales is such a good actress, I’m so glad I discovered her . But yeah, Flash Dance is an iconic 80s movie, it’s so iconic, like that thermal jumper that has been cut off in the side, I can just imagine how many girls did that right after that film came out, haha . But yeah, Flash Dance is just amazing, I have it on DVD, it’s really good . If you haven’t seen Flash Dance or any of the films that Jennifer Beales is in, go and watch them, cause they’re amazing .

Grace Jones is another one of my favorite female models / icons from the 80s . Grace Jones is a singer but she’s also been in some films . Grace Jones was in A View To A Kill. That was when I first discovered her, I was terrified, I was like ” Who is this mad woman, she looks mad ”. Grace Jones plays the role of May Day in A View To A Kill . A View To A Kill is one of my most favorite James Bond Films, basically all the Roger Moore Bond films are my favorite, I love A View To A Kill, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, The Spy Who Loved Me and The Man With The Golden Gun, those are my most favorite James Bond films, A View To A Kill is amazing. Me and my dad have been watching all the old James Bond Films from the first to the very last, which is great, James Bond is just brilliant . But yeah, Grace Jones was in that as well, May Day was demented, like she looks vicious and she can lift people up and chuck them off the balcony and stuff, she’s demented, haha . She’s a really good singer as well, I actually never knew that she was a singer, I only knew her from A View To A Kill, it wasn’t until my dad told me, which I think is pretty cool, she can act and she can sing, she’s a woman of many talents . Grace Jones is absolutely demented, like she looks mad and she’s really scary . It makes you wonder why she’s like that, I feel like she was normal when she was little, but I think as she got older, she ended up like that . I think it happens when you try so hard to get into the music indestury and you have to transform yourself into that sort of person and once you get used to it, then that’s the new you, so I think that’s what happened . I remember watching this interview, that came out in the 70s and then she attacked Russel Harty, then there was this other geezer who was sitting on the panel and he was generally terrified, I don’t even know what happened, if I’m honest, she just suddenly flipped and attacked him, Russel Harty probably had emotional trauma from the event, I can imagine, poor geezer, haha, that was a really funny interview, my dad showed it to me ,and I was like ” What the hell ?”, it was crazy, we always joke about it, every once in a while . Grace Jones was involved in this advert, that came out last year, she’s still demented but it’s so funny . It always results into Grace Jones attacking someone, or suddenly turning unhinged, haha . There was this thing where they were choosing a bond girl or a bond villain for the new James Bond Film, No Time To Die and she was there and she found out that she only had two lines and she just stormed off, like she just went ” What, you only gave me two lines ?”, then she just went like ” Pfffftsstt ” and just kissed her teeth a stormed off of the set, it’s so funny, but she would have actually been a great bond villain, if you think about it, she would have been great . I feel like they should of given her more then two lines, it was sort of like the bare minimum . Grace Jones is amazing, I love her, she’s deranged, but I love her . You should check out her music, it’s really good .

Debbie Gibson is another one of my favorite female singers / icons from the 80s . I love Debbie Gibson, she’s great . Her music is really good . She made some really good songs . My favorites are Lost In Your Eyes and Only In My Dreams . She’s just awesome, I love her, she has an amazing voice . Sigourney Weaver is another one of my favorite actresses from the 80s . Sigourney Weaver has starred in quite a few films, such as Aliens, Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, Gorillas In The Mist, Working Girl, A Year Of Living Dangerously, Half Moon Street and many more . I love Sigourney Weaver, she’s amazing . I know her from the Ghostbusters trilogy, I’m a big fan of the original Ghostbusters movies, they’re just amazing, she’s just an amazing actress . She was also in Aliens, I’ve never seen Aliens before, but my dad was telling me about it and he was saying how Sigourney Weaver was amazing in it and that her character was a really strong woman, fighting all the monsters and saving the world, she is like a really good heroine . She is the example of when the writing for a really strong female character is done correctly and it doesn’t include a woman being bitchy to the men and to just throw in all of that man hating, radical feminism bullshit in there, make a really strong character who appears to be female and not like one gender is stronger then the other one, both genders have different roles that fit their nature, not like what they’re trying to do now . But yeah, I love Sigourney Weaver, she’s amazing . If you haven’t seen any of the films that she was in, go and watch them because they’re really good .

Kim Alexis is another one of my favorite female models from the 80s . I just love Kim Alexis, she’s so pretty, she’s gorgeous . She’s just amazing . I have so many favorite models from the 80s and she is one of them .

Patrick Swayze is one of my all time favorite actors from the 80s . Patrick Swayze has starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, Dirty Dancing, Road House, Point Break, Ghost and many more . Patrick Swayze is a legend, she’s just absolutely brilliant . He was also in The Outsiders, he plays the role of Darryl Curtis, who is one of Ponyboy’s brothers. I will always see him as Darry, such an iconic character, he is a great actor .  Every time I see Patrick Swayze in some of his other films, I’m like ” Darry!!! ”, haha, the first thing that comes to mind is Darry, because I will forever remember him as Darryl Curtis, I love The Outsiders, it’s one of my most favorite films from that time, it’s amazing . He’s also in Dirty Dancing, he plays the role of Johnny Castle, Dirty Dancing is another one of my favorite films, I love Dirty Dancing, it’s great . Patrick Swayze is also a dancer, that explains why he’s so good at dancing in his films, like Dirty Dancing . Unfortunatly, Patrick Swayze passed away in 2009, he wasn’t very well, he was actually quite ill, which is terrible, he was amazing, he was a legend that was taken away from us too soon, may he rest in peace. But what’s good is that we can still enjoy his films and watch them with our future generation’s, which is good . But yeah, he’s a legend . Ralph Macchio is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Ralph Macchio was starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, The Karate Kid trilogy, Up The Academy, Crossroads, Teachers, My Cousin Vinny and many more . I just love Ralph Macchio, he’s amazing, he’s such a good actor, half of his roles just blow me away. I will forever recognize him as Johnny Cade from The Outsiders and Daniel Larusso from The Karate Kid . Ralph is just so cute, he was so cute back in the 80s and honestly, he hasn’t changed much, he still looks thirty, he’s 60 but he’s thirty, haha, I guess it’s in the genes . His role in The Outsiders was phenomenal, Johnny Cade broke me in hundreds of little pieces, the way Ralph portrayed his character, was amazing . He also played Daniel Larusso in The Karate Kid. Our beloved Daniel San, I loved him in The Karate Kid, I really did . And I cried every night, knowing that I could never marry him, haha, cause he’s just so cute . And now, he’s in Cobra Kai and he’s playing the exact same character. I just love Cobra Kai, season 4 was crazy, not gonna lie, so many twists and turns everywhere, especially with Terry Silver, man, that man is deranged, I’m telling you, he just can’t wait to do like a round house kick in someone’s face, haha, he’s absolutely demented, he’s like highlander, I’m looking forward to season 5, me and my family are both really excited . He was also in a film in the 90s, which was called My Cousin Vinny. I love My Cousin Vinny, it’s such a great film, Joe Pesci is great in it, as well as Ralph Macchio . Rob Lowe is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Rob Lowe has starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, St Elmo’s Fire, Oxford Street Blues, Class, About Last Night and Youngblood . I know him from two films, I know him from The Outsiders and St Elmo’s Fire . In The Outsiders, he plays the role of Sodapop Curtis, which is one of my favorite characters from the film, I love The Outsiders . Sodapop was such a gentle character, and he is so cute, I’ve had a big crush on him ever since I watched the film . He was also in St Elmo’s Fire, I love St Elmo’s Fire, it’s a great film, he plays the role of Billy Hicks . Rob Lowe is such a great actor, he never fails to amaze me . Rob Lowe was so cute back then and if I’m honest, he hasn’t even changed much, he’s about fifty or sixty something now but he still looks young, I guess it’s in the genes. Matt Dillon is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Matt Dillon has starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Tex, Over The Edge, My Body Guard, Drugstore Cowboy and many more . Matt Dillon is great, I love him, he’s an amazing actor . One of my favorite roles is Dallas Winston from The Outsiders, Dallas was a great character and he broke me into hundreds of tiny little pieces . Matt Dillon absolutely ate that role, he was amazing in that, he’s a very gifted actor . Dallas Winston will always be one of my most favorite Matt Dillon roles, just because it just looks so realistic, like very surreal, he does a very good job of portraying criminal like characters . Matt Dillon was so cute back in the 80s, he hasn’t really changed that much, he’s looking good for his age . He also plays Rusty James in Rumble Fish, which was also written by SE Hinton, one of my favorite authors, she’s just amazing, she was the one who gave us The Outsiders, and I’m grateful that I had a chance to experience reading and watching it in my life, cause it’s literally the best thing in the whole wide world, love The Outsiders, it’s a great film . Matt Dillon is just a really good actor. If you haven’t seen any of the films that he was in, go and watch them, cause they are really good .

 

 

C Thomas Howell is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . C Thomas Howell has starred in many films, such as The Outsiders, ET, The Extra Terrestrial, The Secret Admirer, Soul Man, The Hitcher, The Red Dawn and many more . He was in The Outsiders, he plays the role of Ponyboy Curtis, C Thomas Howell was amazing in The Outsiders, he’s such a great actor . I love Ponyboy, he’s so cute . I’ve had a crush on him ever since I have watched the film, he’s just so cute . C Thomas Howell is a great actor, he’s great at what he does . If you haven’t seen any of the films that he was in, go and watch them, cause they’re really good .

Corey Haim is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Corey Haim has starred in many films, such as The Lost Boys, License To Drive, Murphy’s Romance, Dream A Little Dream, Lucas and many more . I know him from The Lost Boys, he played the role of Sam Emerson, who was Michael’s little brother. I love The Lost Boys, it’s such a great film. Corey Haim is an amazing actor . He’s so cute as well . Unfortunatly, he passed away when he was really young, which is a shame, but at least we have his films and we can enjoy them . Corey Haim will always be remembered for his outstanding acting and work . If you haven’t seen any of the films that he was in, go and watch them, cause they’re amazing .

Corey Feldman is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Corey Feldman has starred in a few films, such as Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, The Goonies, License To Drive and there are some other ones . He was in The Goonies, The Goonies is one of my most favorite films from the 80s, it’s a great adventure film. He was also in Stand By Me, Stand By Me is another one of my favorite films. Corey Feldman is a great actor . He was also in The Lost Boys. He played the role of Edgar, he was one of the Frog brothers . Corey Feldman is a great actor . Eddie Murphy is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Eddie Murphy has starred in many films, such as Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours, Coming To America, Trading Places, The Golden Child and many more . Eddie Murphy started his career by doing stand up comedy and then he started doing music, which didn’t go well for him, and then he started doing acting . Eddie Murphy is just great, every film that he’s in, he just smashes it . Coming To America is one of my all time favorite films, me and my family both love it, it’s just amazing, it’s so funny . He was also in Trading Places, Trading Places is another one of my favorite films, it’s a great film, no matter how many times you watch it, you won’t get tired of it . Can we just appreciate how he plays most of the characters in Coming To America ?, like he plays almost every character in the film, he’s a genius . Like one of my favorite bits from the film is all the characters in the barber shop, like that Jewish guy, who Eddie Murphy also plays, like those characters are so funny, I end up splitting my guts out every time I watch that film, it’s so funny and so well done . Some of the quotes that come from the film are great as well, there’s one of the quotes that I quote daily, and that is ” What is this, Velvet ?”, it’s a great quote, me and my family quote it very often in our day to day lives, I actually got my cousin to say it, but what’s scary sometimes is that she’ll end up going on a bus or like a public place and she’ll just randomly say it in front of everyone and everyone’s gonna think that she’s mental, I’ve seen it happen before and it happens in such random times, but it’s always in public . So yeah, ” What is this, Velvet ?”, is one of my favorite quotes from the film, as well as ” When you think of garbage, think of Akeem ”, that quote is genius . Eddie Murphy is great in that, as well as Arsenio Hall, they’re both brilliant in it . You actually don’t actually think of Coming To America as a black film, that’s why it’s so good . Daddy Day Care is another one of my all time favorite films, it’s so funny, it all just becomes absolute chaos as you just see him being over run by all these kids and it’s just so funny . Beverly Hills Cop is supposed to be a really good film, I just haven’t seen it yet.  Imagine That is another great film . Norbit as well, don’t even get me started on Norbit, that film still gives me nightmares,, it’s just that scene where that woman goes down the slide and her fat arse, oh god, that film is a nightmare, it’s actually kind of funny though, Eddie Murphy also plays some of the characters in that film to0 . The Nutty Professor trilogy is also really good, I like the first one more though, but they’re both great in their own ways .But yeah, Eddie Murphy is great . Arnold Swarznegger is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . He has starred in many films, such as The Terminator, The Running Man, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Jingle All The Way and many more . In the 70s, he was a famous body builder and this was before he got into acting . He was in a film called Pumping Iron, well it’s not really a film, it’s sort of like a film / documentary about bodybuilding, I love Pumping Iron, there are so many iconic bodybuilders in it, me and my dad both love it, it motor vates you to do body building . Pumping Iron will always have a special place in my dad’s heart, as well as mine, we both love it a lot . He was also in The Terminator, The Terminator is iconic, and it’s such a great film . The Running Man is another one of my favorite films, it’s just amazing, it’s a Sci Fi classic . You can tell that Arnold makes up half of his iconic quotes, we all know that they were never scripted, it’s like he’ll come up with one of those names like, ” Hey Duliem ”, like that’s a name that he would name a character in one of his films, half of his quotes are legendary . That’s the thing about Arnold, half of the most iconic scenes come from him, it’s just genius . The Running Man is a great film, there are some really funny quotes in it . Jingle All The Way is another great film, it’s a great Christmas film, me and my family watch it every year, it’s a great film . Arnold Swarznegger is just brilliant . Sylvester Stallone is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . He has starred in many films, such as the Rocky trilogy, Rambo, Escape To Victory and many more . I know him from Rocky . Rocky is legendary, the third and fourth one are the best ones . Like the third one with Mr T and the fourth one with Drago, like that mad Russian geezer . Rocky Four is great, the soundtrack for Rocky Four is amazing, it’s that song, Hearts On fire, that song is amazing, me and my dad used to do boxing to that song, it used to get us in the mood for boxing, it’s a very energetic song, it’s got a lot of energy in it . Rocky is just legendary, the 80s isn’t the 80s without Sylvester Stallone, that’s for sure . Rocky is a great film, Rocky 3 and Rocky 4 are my favorites . Sylvester Stallone is a great actor . John Candy is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . John Candy has starred in many films, such as Splash, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, Space balls, National Lampoon’s Vacation and many more . John Candy is an absolute legend . He was in Uncle Buck, Uncle Buck is one of my favorite films, it’s a great film . Uncle Buck is really funny, no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I just don’t seem to get tired of it, it’s amazing, definetely one of my favorite John Hughes movies . John Candy was amazing in Uncle Buck. There’s this scene in the film, where him and his ex girlfriend are like dancing in the living room and then his other ex just walks in only to see him and that woman dancing and then he just carries on dancing, then he notices that his ex is standing right there and he’s with another woman, that scene is absolutely hilarious and he’s doing that dance, then it just zooms into his face, that scene is so funny, it’s like one of my favorite scenes throughout the whole entire film, it’s bloody brilliant . He was also in Planes, Trains And Automobiles, that’s another great film, Steve Martin and John Candy are both great in it. John Candy’s character in the film is just one of those sorts of people that you end up on flights with, that you don’t wanna have any association with, but you just can’t keep out of it, like you could just see Steve Martin’s character just slowly going mad, all he wants to do is come home to his family and his wife for Thanksgiving, then he’s on a flight with some parasite, haha, it’s so funny, but John Candy’s character did have a really sad back story and you really feel sorry for him, I feel like most of his characters are really flawed and they make you sorry for them, such as his character in Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains And Automobiles, he plays some really flawed characters and he smashes it every time . Unfortunatly, he passed away a few years ago, I think he died of a heart attack, which is absolutely dreadful, he was a legend and his work will continue to be cherished and treasured . Bill Murray is another one of my favorite actors from the 80s . Bill Murray has starred in many films, such as Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, Scrooged, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Caddy Shack, What About Bob ?, Groundhog Day, Stripes and many more . He was in Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters is one of my most favorite films, it’s incredible, I love both of them, both of them are great . Ghostbusters is iconic .  Bill Murray is a strange character, he’s an odd ball, really, like I’ve heard that he’s very hard to work with, like when they were doing the filming for Ghostbusters, he wouldn’t turn up, it wasn’t until the next two days, then he appeared on the set . He’s really strange, he’s a little bit of an idiot . You can tell that in every film he’s in, he plays the exact same character, like half of it is probably improvised and they just went along with it, haha . He was in a film called, What About Bob ?. What About Bob is a good film, Bob was an absolute parasite, like he was slowly driving Doctor Leo Marvin crazy, haha.  The Man Who Knew Too Little is another one of my favorite films. It’s so funny . That scene where Bill Murray’s character is walking in the street and these two muggers approach him, it’s so funny, then that scene where he’s doing that dance thing and he’s wearing that hat, then he’s holding that Russian Doll, not knowing that there’s a bomb in it, it makes me laugh every time . The Man Who Knew Too Little is a great film, it’s one of his later films .He’s in so many good films . He is a complete douche, but his films are really good .

{Discussion on 80s fashion and aesthetic}

I really love 80s fashion . 80s fashion is very colorful and very bright . It always entails neon leg warmers and fanny packs and all those sorts of fashion and accessories . Including the typical perms and mullets . The 80s isn’t the 80s without mullets . Those sorts of styles and accessories were very popular in America . Not sure if it was the same in the UK. In the UK, everyone all wore like ragedy clothes with patches in their trousers and their jeans, I don’t think there was much bright and neon clothing, but you’d never know. I wasn’t born in the 80s, so Obviously, I don’t know what to think, but from what my dad has told me, it doesn’t look like people dressed like that in Hackney in the 1980s. If people did dress like that, everyone would think that they are aliens, they would look at you crazy, like you’ve just barfed out a rainbow or something . Even though, people who went to Lebetroute and Wag Club, dressed up in weird bizarre clothing . But that’s a whole different ball game . Overall, I just really love 80s fashion .

80s fashion is making a come back . I don’t know how to feel about this . I guess it depends what fashion you’re talking about . I really don’t feel great about mullets coming back, mullets are terrible, they look so hidious . Mullets should just stay in the 80s, they should be burned . But the rest of the 80s fashion, I don’t mind them making a come back. I really love fashion from the 80s . Only some people can rock and pull off the styles really well . I’ve always wanted to try wearing something from the 80s. I’m just worried that people are gonna look at me and take the piss. But other then that, if I could, I would definetely, a 100 % . I think you can find stuff like that in charity and second hand shops . It’s the closest you’re gonna get to vintage clothing .

I also feel the same way about hairstyles from the 80s . They had a wide range of different hairstyles in the 80s . You had the mullet, you had the perm and you had some other ones too . It’s very hard to decide whether or not these hairstyles are bad or good, because really, it depends on who’s wearing it, everyone had different appearances back in the 80s . You can get a haircut and it would look great on you, but sometimes, you can get one and it doesn’t really suit you, but it depends on the person and what looks good on them . You have a lot of choice, I guess .  Many singers and musicians rocked those sorts of hairstyles, they look amazing . Only people from the 80s can pull it off, that’s for sure .

When it comes to men’s hairstyles from the 80s, some of them are bloody horrendous . When you have a look at some of them, it just makes you think ” Were people ok in the 80s ?”, haha, some of them are so bad. Like some of those hairstyles, look like slug head and these weird ass looking perms. Mullets are terrible. And when I started noticing that they were making a come back, I wanted to jump out of a window . Mullets just look so bad . They only looked good on Rob Lowe, when everyone else had it, they looked like shit . But I guess it depends on the person, different things suit different people . There’s something for everyone in fashion .

 

 

{80s accessories}

Leg Warmers were very popular in the 80s . They were often used for workouts. Women wore them a lot in the 80s . They were a very common staple during that time period . Leg Warmers are really colorful, you can get them in hundreds of different colors and designs . Every time I see leg warmers, they often remind me of Jane Fonda and Flash Dance, haha, they are so iconic . Leg Warmers are a great accessory . I really hope that they make a come back .

Fingerless Gloves were quite popular in the 80s . Many girls wore them as an accessory . They are like made of mesh . I actually really like fingerless gloves . I think I got to wear them once . I had to wear them for a school play, I had this 80s style . They are really stylish . If they were to make a come back, I would buy them, I really wouldn’t mind it, they are really good .

Fanny packs were a very popular staple in the 80s . Fanny packs, otherwise known as bum bags, were worn on their shoulders, sort of like bags, but they had a strap that you wrap around your shoulder. You can still buy them today, but they look different . You can’t really store that many things in them, it can only fit your phone, and that’s pretty much it, but it can fit a few small nick nacks in it . They are pretty good, if I’m honest. They are very easy to lug around with you . It’s not to bulky as well, so that’s good .

{My favorite 80s movies}

The breakfast Club is one of my all time favorite 80s movies . It’s just done so well . Definetely one of my favorite John Hughes films . I love all the characters, their back stories, the quotes are genius, the outfits, everything about the film is iconic . The cast is also amazing . Plus it has Molly Ringwald in it, I really love her, she’s amazing . The Breakfast Club will always be one of my favorite teen films from the 80s . I could watch it millions of times and I still won’t get tired of it, it’s a timeless classic . My favorite scenes are the detention dance scene and the one where they’re all sitting down and having their lunch . I really like how they told us what sort of back round they have by showing us what lunches they have, I think that that’s very cool . The Detention dance scene is my most favorite scene from the film . Overall, The Breakfast Club is a great film . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Pretty In Pink is another one of my favorite teen movies from the 80s . Pretty In Pink is a great film . The music is great, the story is great, everything about the film is great . Duckie is a great character, I love Duckie, he’s so goofy and adorable . That scene where he’s singing in the shop is so funny, I love it . Molly Ringwald is in it as well, she’s a great actress . Andrew Mccarthy is also in it, I love Andrew Mccarthy .

Sixteen Candles is another one of my favorite 80s movies . Sixteen Candles is great . Everyone says that it didn’t age well, because of the themes, but we have to accept the fact that it was made in the 80s. The 80s was entirely different time, you can’t cancel something that was done in the past . What ever is acceptable today, will been seen as completely ridiculous in a few years time, that’s how it goes . Just enjoy the film for what it is, it’s a fun film . It’s not meant to be taken seriously . Sixteen Candles is a great film, it was so funny .

Dirty dancing is another one of my favorite 80s movies . I love Dirty Dancing, it’s amazing . Love Jennifer Grey, Love Patrick Swayze, both of them in a film together, amazing . I’ve heard that Grey and Swayze didn’t get along whilst working together, they had their ups and downs, overall, they brought us this amazing film . Dirty Dancing is an 80s classic, that’s for sure . I love it . It will always be one of my favorite films .

Grease 2 is another one of my favorite 80s films . Grease two is the sequel to Grease . I actually really love this film . A lot of people hate it, but if I’m honest, I really enjoyed it . Yes, of course there’s a whole different cast, it’s a different story, I understand how some people may have a problem with that, but honestly, I really love it . There are some really good songs in it . Both films have their key moments, they are both good, I love them both the same . Michelle Pfeiffer is in it, I love her . Maxwell Caulfield is so cute, I think we can all agree . I just couldn’t stop staring at him, he’s so cute . Grease 2 was great . Johnny is crazy AF, haha . I think everybody did a great job . I find myself singing the songs, from time to time, like they just get stuck in my head, the songs are really catchy . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s really good .

Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . I love Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure, it’s a great film . It’s a great film about time travelling . Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves is an iconic duo, I think we can all agree on that one . Bill And Ted’s excellent adventure is so funny, it’s just a very uplifting film . It’s very fun . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s wicked .

 

St Elmo’s Fire is another one of my all time favorite 80s movies . St Elmo’s Fire is just amazing . I don’t understand why most people think that it’s bad, it’s a great film . The cast is brilliant, the music is great . I feel like the writing for the characters wasn’t that great, but apart from that, I had no problems with the film . It was another one of those Brat pack films, like The Breakfast Club and The Outsiders, the brat pack is a genius idea, the brat pack is like the family you never knew you had, that’s why I love it so much . You go on a journey with the characters, that’s what’s so great about The brat pack . I love St Elmo’s Fire. If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, because it’s amazing .

The Outsiders is another one of my most favorite films from the 80s . The Outsiders is absolutely amazing . Everything about the film is great, the story is great, the characters are great, the music is great, the cast is great, everything about the film is great . This film is so sad, I cried the first time when I watched it, it is so gut punching . No matter how many times I watch it, I won’t get tired of it . I’m so glad that we have amazing authors like SE Hinton . I just love The Outsiders, it’s a great teen film . If you haven’t seen it yet, you should go and watch it, because it’s absolutely amazing .

Footloose is another one of my favorite 80s films . Footloose, everybody’s favorite foot tapping classic . I absolutely love Footloose, it’s a great film . Kevin Bacon is in it and he’s a really good actor . The music in the film is really good, as well as the story . The fact that Kevin Bacon’s character had to fight for the ban of dancing in his town to be unlifted is brilliant, he really believed that he could change everything for the better . Footloose is a great film, it makes me happy .

Flash Dance is another one of my favorite 80s films . I love Flash Dance, it’s amazing . It’s about a girl who is a welder but she’s also a dancer . It’s one of the most inspiring movies I have ever watched . It really inspires you to keep doing what you’re doing, because you never know what might happen . Jennifer Beales is in it, I love Jennifer Beales, she’s an amazing actress . The soundtrack is great as well, most of the soundtrack was made by Irene Cara . Irene Cara is one of my favorite singers and musicians . What A Feeling is a great song, it’s so inspirational . I just love Flash Dance, all the work that was put in by all the stunt doubles, to create some of the most iconic dance scenes, is just incredible. I just love Flash Dance, it makes me feel happy . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

The Karate Kid is another one of my all time favorite 80s films . The Karate Kid is just brilliant . No matter how many times you’ve seen it, it still has the same effect . It’s just magic, only 80s films can do that, convince me otherwise . Ralph Macchio is in it, I absolutely love Ralph Macchio, one of my favorite actors . And Pat Morita, also, Mr Miyagi is amazing. He was a role model to hundreds of young boys, he was like a father figure . The Karate Kid will always be one of my favorite films . It’s such a classic . Every one needs to watch at least once, it’s a must see .

The Goonies is another one of my all time favorite films from the 80s . The Goonies is just amazing . You go on a journey with the kids and it’s a great adventure . The Goonies is an 80s classic . All the kids are great in it . It’s one of my all time favorite adventure films, it’s great . One of my favorite scenes is the Truffle Shuffle scene, it’s so funny . The whole film is great though, I loved every minute of it . I’m grateful that my dad introduced me to this amazing film .

The Lost Boys is another one of my favorite 80s films . The Lost Boys is a great film . It’s a comedy about vampires . It’s so funny, it’s a little bit scary, but that’s the whole point . The Lost Boys is an 80s classic . It has a great cast, the quotes are really funny, Keither Sutherland’s character is demented AF, haha. We made a promise that we would watch The Lost Boys every Halloween night, we need our daily dose of The Lost Boys, otherwise, Halloween is just not Halloween, then it would be complete . The story is just brilliant. It’s funny, it’s scary, it’s amazing . I feel like everyone needs to watch it, it’s wicked .

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a great film . Let’s be honest here, we’ve all wanted to be Ferris Bueller, have that big day off, when the film came out in 1986, it was every student’s dream. Everyone wanted to flunk class and skip school and go on some sort of vacation. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is really funny, it’s a classic . It’s one of my favorite John Hughes films, he made some really good films . There will never be a director and writer that can replace John Hughes. John Hughes had that magic in his films, he inspired a whole generation. Everyone has something that they can relate to in his films . John Hughes is an absolute legend . Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is great . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s really good .

Ghostbusters is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Ghostbusters is a great film . The first one and the second one is great. I liked the second one more, even though they are both great equally . The Ghostbusters theme tune is iconic, it’s the one by Ray Parker Jr, it’s one of the most iconic film soundtracks ever made . The cast is absolutely brilliant . Dan Akyroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson Jr, Sigourney Weaver, such an iconic cast for an iconic film . Their return in Ghostbusters Afterlife was amazing . It was such an entrance, I was not expecting for them to come back, it was really a great touch, it made it even better . Ghostbusters is just wicked . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

ET is another one of my favorite 80s films . ET is just amazing . ET was a very friendly and loving alien, I really liked the connection between the little boy and ET. This film is both emotional and funny . It’s just great storytelling . ” ET, phone home ”, will always be the most iconic quote in movie history. I cried the first time I watched it, it just totally broke my heart . Henry Thomas is such a great actor, I saw his audition on You Tube, it was the one where Steven Speilberg was giving him the role, his acting is outstanding, what a talented kid . It’s a total classic . If you haven’t watched it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s really good .

Stand By Me is another one of my all time favorite films . Stand By Me is a great film . It tells the story of four friends who go on an adventure to discover a dead body of a kid who disappeared whilst berry picking . It’s a very heart wrenching story . The kids come to terms with loss and what it’s like to be in a dysfunctional family . This film has such an amazing cast . It made me cry when I watched it for the first time, I just couldn’t handle the emotion. The 80s had the best films, the 80s was like the golden era for music and film . River Phoenix was amazing in it, as well the rest of the cast of young actors .  I totally recommend you to watch it, because it’s incredible .

Big is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Big is a film that is about a kid who becomes an adult over night, he’s about 20 something, but he’s still a little boy in his head . It’s a really good film . Tom Hanks is great in it . It’s so funny . I watched it in the cinema with my mum, dad and my brother, I loved it . It’s such a great film . I’m baffled that I didn’t watch it earlier, but I’ve seen it now, so that’s all what matters . Some people say that this film didn’t age well, soley because Tom’s character falls in love with an older woman, when in reality, he’s still a kid, which is weird, because of the age gap, but it’s a film, it’s not meant to be taken seriously, it’s a bit of fun . I love Big, Big is great . It’s actually kinda sad though, especially the ending, but it’s amazing . If you haven’t watched it yet, go and watch it, because it’s amazing .

Back To The Future is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Back To The Future is an 80s classic. The whole trilogy is great. Michael J Fox is in it, I love Michael J Fox, he smashed the role of Marty Mcfly . I actually never knew Eric Stoltz auditioned for the role, but he didn’t get in, Michael J Fox was given the role instead of him . No matter how much I love Michael J Fox when he played Marty, I’m quite curious to see what would happen if Eric Stoltz was given the role, would he have brought something new to the table, nobody really knows, but it would have been cool to see what would of happened if he played the role of Marty . When the film came out in 1985, it made everyone want to time travel, we all wanted flying cars, even though they don’t exist. I hope that in a few years time, we will have our very own delorean, haha, that’s my wish . Doc Brown and Marty were an iconic duo . Doc is demented AF, haha, I feel like Doc was like ” Marty, we gotta go back to the future ”, and Marty was just like completely clueless, haha, it’s hilarious . Back To The Future is a great film, it will always be one of my all time favorites .

Uncle Buck is hands down, has to be one of my most favorite John Hughes films from the 80s . Uncle Buck is just incredible . Everything about the film is great, it has a perfect cast, it’s so funny, it’s sad at times, as John Candy’s character comes to terms with his life . Uncle Buck is absolutely hilarious. The kids are so funny in it, they never fail to make me laugh . John Candy is in it, John Candy is a legend . One of my all time favorite scenes is the one where him and his ex is dancing, then Chanise walks in . It’s all fun and games until Chanise enters the building, haha . Then what’s funny is that Buck just carries on dancing, then he’s doing that dance, that scene always makes me die of laughter . We watch Uncle Buck once every year . We usually watch it at Christmas, it’s a tradition . The ending never fails to make me cry . Such a great film, with an amazing cast . They can never remake this film if they tried . Another great thing about the film is Uncle Buck’s hatred against his niece, Tia’s boyfriend, then he’s just threatening him left right and center, then he just carries that axe with him, it’s hilarious . Also that scene where Buck crashes this party, because he assumes that Tia is there, but then he just ends up breaking into this room where her boyfriend is, and guess what, it’s not even her, haha, it’s some completely different girl, haha, then he just holds that drill in his hand, looking all sinister, that scene is so funny . Bug was shitting himself . Uncle Buck is a piece of film history, it’s a an absolute classic . If you haven’t watched it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Planes, Trains and Automobiles is the ultimate thanksgiving film . Such an amazing film . Love Planes, Trains and Automobiles . Another great John Hughes classic . If you don’t know what it’s about, basically, the film is about Neal Page, who is played by Steve Martin, is trying to get back home to his family for Thanksgiving, but turns out, it’s not as easy as he thought it would be . And along the way, he comes across Dell Griffith, who is played by John Candy and he’s just stuck with him the whole time . At the beginning, Steve Martin’s character hates John Candy’s character, but half way through the film, they form this connection, . This film is hilarious . We watch it every year . Here in the UK, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, so instead, we watch it at Christmas . It’s just a great film . John Candy’s character had a very sad back story, he didn’t have a family, he didn’t have a home and he opens up about his personal life and it kinda makes you feel bad for him . At the beginning, you just think that he’s a total parasite, but he’s just a very innocent geezer . I love the whole film, but I have so many favorite scenes . The first one is the scene where Neal and Dell have to share a room and then Neal realizes that what he is resting his head against is not a pillow, it’s Dell, that scene is hilarious . Also, there’s another scene where Neal and Dell find this rough neck sort of geezer in the middle of nowhere and then the guy just spits on his hand and then he goes in for a hand shake, Steve Martin’s facial expressions make that scene even better, you have to be quite quick to notice it, it’s absolutely hilarious . Steve Martin’s facial expressions are everything. I think that this film is so relatable . There are times where everyone has a Planes, Trains and Automobiles moment in their lives . Me and my family had that once and it was all happening during the tube strikes, I’ll share that story another day, otherwise I’ll just be rambling on and on and on, so I’m just gonna keep this short . Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a fantastic film . If you haven’t watched it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Coming To America is another one of my favorite comedies from the 80s . Coming To America is wicked . One of the funniest comedies I have ever seen, every time I watch it, I just split my gut from laughing too much . Eddie Murphy is in it, as well as Arsenio Hall, the legendary comedy duo . This film has so many great scenes in it, it’s just so well put together . It’s crazy how Eddie Murphy and the director didn’t get along off of the set, they had like a massive fight and stuff . It’s quite crazy actually, when I found out what was happening behind closed doors, it was quite shocking . It was quite a sacrifice in putting this film out there . Coming To America is so funny . It’s crazy how Eddie Murphy plays most of the characters, he’s an absolute genius . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Trading Places is another one of my favorite 80s films . Trading Places is a great film . It’s got Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy in it, they were great in this film . Trading Places is so funny . Me and my family both love this film . It’s this and Coming To America are my favorite Eddie Murphy films . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s wicked .

Beetlejuice is another one of my all time favorite films from the 80s . Beetlejuice is so funny, it’s so weird, but it’s amazing . Michael Keaton plays the role of Beetlejuice . Beetlejuice is bloody terrifying, haha, when I saw it for the very first time, I was like ” Oh shit ”, haha, I was like ” What the hell is that coming out of the ground ?”, haha. Beetlejuice is an underrated classic . There are rumors that there’s gonna be a sequel, if it is, I’m very excited for it, not gonna lie, as long as they stick with the original cast, or whoever is still around, and they don’t try and muck up the story, like they do with sequels, then I think it would be good . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

The Running Man is another one of my favorite 80s films . The Running Man is a Sci Fi film . It’s about a world that is just based off of consumerism. It’s too real, to be honest. It’s set in the future and I think they pretty much predicted the future. There is a lot of consumerism these days . People are so glued to the tv and stuff . In the film, they had these really ridiculous concepts for game shows, people were killed for the butt of entertainment . That’s pretty much where we’re heading today . Arnold Schwarzenegger is in it, Arnold is a legend, always comes up with all those legendary, iconic quotes . The Running Man is a great film, it’s just a great story . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s great .

Christine is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Christine is a drama / horror film . It’s about this guy who’s lonely and he gets bullied at school and then he forms a connection with his car . This sounds an awful lot like Roger Taylor’s song, which is called ” I’m In Love With My Car ”, don’t you think ?, I can’t be the only one who thinks this . It sounds a lot like I’m In Love With My Car, haha, honestly, what was Roger Taylor thinking ?, haha . Christine is a great film . Throughout the film, the guy gets possessed by his car and the engine starts all by itself and the music starts playing by itself, but it only plays old rock music from the 50s and 60s, haha . There were times when Christine got scary, things happen when you don’t expect them too and when it finally happens, it hits you . Every time I see a red car, I’m gonna say ” Oh look, it’s Christine ”, even though millions of cars are red, I’m gonna say that it’s Christine . Christine is a great film . That bit where the bully cuts the bag open with a knife and all yogurt spills out, that scene is iconic, that geezer’s such a git, because he bulled Arne but that scene is iconic, the way how he cute the bag open with a knife, it’s very satisfying . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s really good .

Iron Eagle is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Iron Eagle is fantastic . It’s about like pilots and it’s something to do with the nuclear blasts and stuff . Iron Eagle is a great film . The cast is amazing, so many great actors and actresses . The characters are brilliant as well, it’s just a great story . I think there’s meant to be an Iron Eagle 2, but I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m hoping to see it very soon, I loved the first one, so I’m curious to see what the second is about . Iron Eagle is just one of those films that went under the radar, people pretty much forgot about it, but it’s such a great film . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

No Retreat No Surrender is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . No Retreat No Surrender is a great Martial Arts film . Jean Claude Van Damme is in it, he was demented in this film, he’s always playing some sort of bad guy, haha, except for Blood Sport and double Impact, I guess . No Retreat No Surrender is one of my dad’s favorite Martial Arts films, so he introduced me to this film, I absolutely love it . The main character gets bullied quite a lot by this group of geezers and he keeps having these visions of Bruce Lee and somehow, Bruce Lee teaches him how to fight . It’s an amazing film . There are hundreds of films to this sequel, they made so many of them, I literally can’t catch up, haha . But yeah no, No Retreat, No Surrender is a great film . My favorite character is Jason Stillwell, who is played by Kurt Mckinny, you just sort of root for him throughout the film, but my most favorite character is his friend, he was great, I loved him . No Retreat No Surrender will always be one of my favorite Martial Arts films . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Blood Sport is another one of my favorite martial arts films from the 80s . Jean Claude Van Damme is in it, this time, he plays a hero and not a demented, unhinged villain, haha . Blood Sport is wicked . It’s about these illegal and dangerous fighting matches that happen secretly in Hong Kong, they are called Kumites, and they involve quite a lot of blood shed, they are actually quite nasty . Blood Sport is wicked, such a great film . Bolo Yeung is in it, wow, he was demented. Me and dad really love this film . The fighting is crazy in this film, I have to admit, the acting is shit, but the fight choreography is great . If you haven’t seen it, go and watch it, cause it’s incredible .

Big Trouble In Little China is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Big Trouble In Little China was such a weird film, there were hundreds of things going on at once, like how everyone got stuck in that place, then fighting that group of baddies, it was so chaotic, but it’s so amazing at the same time . Big Trouble In Little China is so funny. Kurt Russel is in it, he was brilliant in this film . That bit with the triads though, haha, they are demented.  David Lo Pan was bloody demented as well, like James Hong, that character who turns up a few minutes in the beginning of the film, with all the makeup and that massive cloak and starts doing all those spells, James Hong was mad, haha, it’s beyond me how they thought of that character, haha, there were so many mad characters in this film . This film was directed and produced by John Carpenter, John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors, his films are amazing . Big Trouble In Little China doesn’t seem like the sort of film what John Carpenter would direct, he usually directs some of those horror films, this was like a really weird comedy, but I guess it works really well . I think there’s a sequel to this film, there’s a second one as well, it’s supposed to be quite good, but me and my family haven’t seen it yet. But yeah, Big Trouble In Little China is a great film, it’s a good story, it’s a great adventure, it’s really funny. If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, because it’s amazing .

Die Hard is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . Die Hard is an action film . Usually I’m not a big fan of action films that much, I don’t like films that have too much going on, it’s very hard to keep track on what’s going on. But this film really impressed me . Everyone keeps saying ” Oh, you have to watch Die Hard, Die Hard is really good ”, like I hear a lot of great stuff about it, but I just never really understood the hype, but when I watched it, it just blew me away . The film is great, I’m not a big fan of Bruce Willis though . He kind of gets on my nerves a little bit, he tries to act all tough like Arnold Swarzenegger and all those sorts of actors, and it just doesn’t look right, he doesn’t bring his own persona to the table, he just copies all the other top geezers, not a big fan of Bruce Willis, but Die Hard is great . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s great .

National Lampoon’s Vacation is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . They made a bunch of films. There was National Lampoon’s European Vacation, Vegas Vacation, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, I love all of them, they are great . National Lampoon’s Vacation is a great film . It’s so funny . Every time that family goes on holiday, it turns out to be a complete nightmare . It’s like one thing after the other. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is one of my most favorite Christmas films . It’s so amazing, that film is hilarious . You just see Clark Griswold slowly going mad, haha, love it . I love all of them though, all of them are great . If you haven’t seen them yet, go and watch them, cause they’re amazing .

King Of Comedy is another one of my favorite films from the 80s . King Of Comedy is a great film, it’s so funny . You think the film is about this guy who wants to meet Jerry Langford but then you start to realize that he doesn’t want to meet him, he wants to be him and Rupert Pupkin, Robert De Niro’s character, just totally does Hijack and he stalks him and he does all this stuff until he can be on his show. This film is so funny, when I watched it for the first time, I laughed so hard, I almost vomited, it’s that funny . Robert De Niro is such a great actor, he plays that sort of character really well.  As well as that girl that was with him, she was great, she was a phycho, she was like another version of him . The King Of Comedy is an amazing film, it’s really funny, it’s just done so well . The next time it comes in the cinema, I’m going to watch it . If you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .

Buster is another one of my favourite films from the 80s . Buster is a film about this guy, his name is Buster Edwards and he gets involved in one of the biggest train robberies and he finds himself doing a train robbery with Ronnie Bigs . Buster is such a great film, I watched it the other day with my family, it was great . It’s such a mad story, and to actually think that it’s real, it’s even more crazy . Phil Collins is in it, Phil Collins is such a great actor, I never knew he did acting, I only knew him from Genesis and when he started making music, I never knew that he did acting, it’s a shame that he didn’t do any more, he was great . Larry Lamb is also in it, he’s a great actor . Buster is such a great film. If you haven’t seen it, go and watch it, cause it’s amazing .
